Updating Torghast this Week

Pleasantly surprised. Thank you.

Most people are like 30 ilvls below heroic raid gear, unkillable, no, strong gear checks, absolutely.

Probably the most important nerf really.

I don’t think people understand that the Soul Ash portions of Torghast are supposed to be easier than the Twisting Corridors we’re getting later.

As it stands right now, all layers are clearable, but it’s a tedious experience that really feels unrewarding if you get screwed by anima powers.

They can always add more layers. Also, Twisting Corridors was ALWAYS meant to be the challenging roguelike content.

For tanks as well. That hunter class floor boss was hitting so hard with no way to stop it past 10. He almost killed me at 14.

“What about it took you hours…”

“I can solo 6 although it may take 2 hours.”

Wow General for you folks. The only thing terrible is how low your IQ is.

I don’t understand why Blizzard doesn’t understand this opinion. It is constructive! I came across a challenging boss that I could not, for the life of me, get down. However, after spending over an hour on the boss - I managed to get him down. What was my reward? As a Hunter, I learned a lot about my class and the potential. That experience helped me become a better hunter.

I guess Blizzard just wants to keep those with no drive to succeed happy.

Please be quiet, this a good change.

Yeah. Punishing us for using our character skills to kite or stop a dangerous ability was absurd. Those were all good skills to have that used to be rewarded. That was part of showing we knew how to play our classes.

Torghast was suppose to be similar to a Roguelike, but not an exact replica of one. These changes are great.

I’ll withhold judgment until I run it but the decrease in difficulty is a decrease in the feeling of accomplishment when you complete it. I hope I’m wrong.

I’m glad Tower Sentinels won’t be reducing my haste to -11 anymore. That was ridiculous. And felt bad for Fury.

You’re a prot paladin, it’s different for other classes. Prot paladins can solo De Other Side M0 with no weapon. Sure, I can go on my priest and mindlessly watch tv and spam smite while atonement is on me doing torghast- but I don’t want to spend two hours doing the same floor over and over again when my mage has to get the perfect anima powers in order to clear the layers. Try doing it on classes that need a perfect RNG of anima powers at higher layers in order to pass and see how that goes for you.

Seems we all understand that there needs to be a rather high critical mass of outrage.

I won’t have 30% haste buff deduction starting a floor because it’s littered with Tower Sentinels? What is this madness!!

So, this extremely vague and non-committal comment by Ion is what you’re hinging this on in the interview I just read?

“Future wings could be for the hardcore Torghast racers among us; although Hazzikostas says the team is wary about making sure any new additions to the tower don’t feel mandatory for a level 60 character to repeat every week. A timed mode or challenge modes could emerge in the future once the current kinks in Torghast are ironed out and the mode fundamentally works.”

What’s the point of making all these cool systems, and then turning around trivializing them? But keeping them mandatory?

Now I can likely add this to a long list of ‘weekly chores’ that are not really that engaging but I feel I have to do… instead of what it was, something that was engaging and fun. Where anima powers felt like meaningful choices and making mistakes meant you had to start over.

I understand the flip side, where players felt like they had to do them but couldn’t.

However, could you at least add some kind of infinite scaling system that provides non-character power incentive? This way you are keeping both player types happy.

When will powers be fun and good? They are all so generic and boring, very few of them are interesting at all.

Why do I get Resto/Enhance traits for my Ele shaman? I don’t need increased auto attack range, increased damage with my next auto attack, increased chain heal crit chance, etc.

Give more specified traits for god sake.

This is definitely a step in the right direction, but still leaps and bounds off the mark.
