Updating Torghast this Week

Let’s get this out of the way. I’m in no way shape or form a bad player. I cleared both sides on layer 8 this week, Only upper reaches gave me a lil struggle with Sinbolt sally, due to me having long interupts (Intimidate counter shot and freezing trap) on top oh it shooting my pet for 8-10k damage every second. I didn’t interupt the volley, I LoSed it.

Twisting corridors is the place where this should be a greater challenge. Layers 6-8 should still provide challenge to others. But if the only challenge is not being able to pass a boss is because of design flaws, that’s not challenge, that’s a brick wall.

Oh no! We don’t want to go back that far. Taking a shot every time he said it since then would definitely be too much. We were just counting today.

so it this hotfixed in today or is it for next tuesday?

dps warrior needs no changes - clearing as fury/arms is easymode. if you cant do it, learn your class better or get better gear. simple.

Personal opinion is that it is not the health of the Torment enemies, but the frequency of the spawns. The ‘no ambushes’ fix should help some (I’ve had as much as 3x immediate, back-to-back spawns and I think I average 20 seconds between spawns if I stand still).

Also consider adding a ‘break room’ item. Most comments I’ve seen on this have been along the lines of, “This was supposed to be own-pace, solo-friendly …”. Changing the size/duration of the entire run should help, but as it stands now there’s no time for bio and most of my level 5/6 runs are easily going an hour long.

I would probably consider adding a once-a-week item, maybe three charges, 5000g, and puts up a 2-minute break room. Maybe even have it continue to consume charges so you get one six-minute break or up to 3x two-minute breaks. Or, remove the charges and just give it a set time-duration, allowing you to put up and take down at your own pace.

I think having a push mechanic is fine so I don’t recommend something that grants unlimited times/use, but something that you can use “In a spot” to get a few moments of rest would be a good thing.

I read the blue post in this thread and it doesn’t talk about that. Is there some other link? Not seeing anything else on MMO-Champion either.

THANK GOD.

I like this.

Ion did an interview with Polygon. Get educated before you mald

Yes! I’m tired of all these “handout” posts. As a Hunter, I did have a bit of an advantage on a challenging boss…FD. Second week, I was at a boss that - for the life of me - I could not get down. However, after trying the boss out over 15 times, I eventually overcame the boss! I had to adjust my approach and I actually learned more about my class through the fight. That challenge made me a better hunter!

But some people just want hand outs - they can’t handle a challenge and, instead, prefer the reward be given to them without putting in the work.

Seems like overkill. Some of these changes I think were needed like the ones to the spellcaster end floor bosses and removing the CC immunity on Unnatural Power. However all the changes taken together seem excessive and likely to make it too easy but maybe I will change my mind once I try it once the changes are in place.

The bosses were literally unkillable bud, these changes were 100% needed

My favorite change as well.

This is the biggest change here. Bosses are no longer a DPS race for any ranged class, since you can just kite them indefinitely.

I dunno. These changes feel like overkill. Was this change designed to effectively make it so anyone can clear the highest levels with relative ease?

maybe, with this nerfs, I’ll be able to clear everything now…I was only going to do layer 4 on each corridor

Health and damage of all creatures in Torghast reduced by 6% at Layer 1, increasing to 26% at Layer 8.

  • Developers’ note: The net effect should be that Layer 8 is now roughly as difficult as Layer 6 was prior to this change, with other Layers’ difficulty is reduced proportionally.

I dont want everything to be like layer 6 that was too easy just wanted it to take as long which is doable by not packing each floor with as much trash and make the trash reward more phantasma

so modify the boss and not the entire zone?
