The fact that there are some people in this thread trying to gatekeep how others experience end-game content is beyond me.
WoW has always been a game that caters to many types of players, from hardcore players and min/maxxers to casual players who can only invest a couple hours a week.
If you were able to do higher levels of Torghast with ease, that’s great. No one is trying to crap on your accomplishments. The cool thing is, you can continue to challenge yourself and push to higher layers.
For players like me, who already barely tolerate Torghast to be optimal with gearing, I’m glad it’s been nerfed. I can now hop into content I’m more comfortable with (PvE dungeons and such make me nervous) and still get my legendaries. I understand that it’ll take me longer and I’m okay with that.
It’s like people who push Mythic 15+; that’s cool that you can do that and earn better gear quickly, but I’ve never seen the call for the eradication of Mythic 0-5. Just because you can do it doesn’t mean everyone can, or wants to push themselves that hard.
This is a good change for every type of player. Cut out trying to dictate what other players have access to.
Because it’s a mandatory content that takes an entire day to do every single layer for both reaches and some classes and specs can’t clear all 8 floors and then there are classes that when even though they can clear it, they require perfect RNG of anima powers. No reason a layer should take 1.5 - 2 hours. It’s just horrible game design. Challenging and time consuming/impossible are two entirely different things.
This is an idiotic way to look at it and you know it. Layer 8 was on the UI menu at the time and Layer 3 was tuned for fresh 60s as well. Layer 8 is tuned for geared 60s.
That kind of argument is just grasping at straws. If you couldn’t finish Layer 8 then just say so.
Thanks for doing this AFTER everyone wasted HOURS with the horror that was Torghast so far this week. I guess the devs just had to flex and remind us they can utterly destroy our gaming experience whenever they please. I don’t think I’ll ever feel the same about this game.
I’d agree with you IF the rewards were worth it. Right now spending 1 - 1.5 hours depending on your class for an increased 50 - 100 soul ash is an incredible waste of time. I am able to clear all layers with my alt, but just thinking about how long it took when i did it with my main completely discouraged me from even trying.
The way it was tuned meant that you could clear all if you pulled little by little regardless of your skill. And the success in the boss fights was greatly dependent on luck (powers you got). This is bad design.
perhaps they will leave it alone now, instead of reverting back to making it annoying again. i’d be curious to know how many quit the game over the stupidity though
My understanding is higher floors will open up. At that time, players who seek the challenge can continue to climb while players like me, who barely tolerate the entire tower, can do enough to stay optimal while avoiding the overwhelming challenges.
