Updating Torghast this Week

I’ve been vocal about the things I have disliked, and the overtuning of Torghast this week was one issue. Thank you for listening to the players. Credit where credit is due.

i knew they would destroy torgast and make it just like visions or worse. i think some people need to be fired.

90% of it is already live.

One more challenging content, removed because it was too tough. I look forward to the, “I’ve gotten all my legendaries crafted now, nothing else to do, unsubbing.”

Since you’re done playing in the garage with your new project. It would be great if you could come back inside and fix the bugged and broken bits affecting the core of your game that’d be lovely…

From the Ashes (the fire mage talent) is still bugged and not giving the proper amount of Mastery. If this talent has sat bugged for this long, and it’s not a hard to notice bug, imagine how many other harder to find bugs in the classes there are…and how long they’ve gone unnoticed or just put on a list to be forgotten…Pretty damn pathetic.

The intention must have been to make me want to sleep more and play less - Torghast is just monotonous and boring for the “rewards”. You’re assuming complaints are only for those who had trouble finishing it. I guess technically I do have trouble finishing it - because it is boring. I also have trouble starting it - because it’s boring!

i don’t even know what a mythic looks like never seen one
guess who would keep me out of there? other players would be the gatekeeper the only person carrying me through any of the mythic stuff would want payment.

and i bet i am in the same boat as a rather large percentage of players

its pretty much public knowledge what sorta gearscore you need at higher level dungeon and raid running, but no one knows with Torg, and the anima powers can have a huge impact either way. Its new…
it was advertised as a solo dungeon for everyone to take their time and forge on through it…
before anyone knew gear progression and story was linked to it, people thought it was going to be rewarding and fun and fast… in reality it was perhaps only that to a very small part of the player base. Remember these complaints started before layer 6 had been released…

and then released to an uproar of disapproval, and reports of ‘this isn’t what was beta tested’, anti-afk mobs and timers were universally disliked in beta… yet here they are…

me i don’t have an issue with the difficulty, though it does suck to clear a layer and then die to the boss… that was my experience at layer 4… I am realistic with my expectations based on my gear score, but i am not on the gear treadmill like many. i do lots of stuff in the game, but isn’t my time just as valuable as yours? My complaint was/is solely about the anti-afk mobs… i was enjoying torg until they showed up, and i am not past them… even with the ‘fixes’.

I find challenge fun. If I wanted to just murder content I can always run something older or a normal or something. I was hoping the highest difficulty 3 weeks into the expansion would present some kind of struggle is all.

Im glad people are happy, and I hope the twisted corridors are what im looking for.

Did you do a solo clear befor today of a second wing hall 8?

If I wasn’t a paladin it would have been near impossible on the first floor.

I would completely agree if it didn’t already have 8 difficulty settings.

To me that paints a very strait forward picture on increasing difficulty.

If someone is having a tough time on level 4, they can go back to level 3. Maybe try 4 again with some better gear or in a group. Or maybe just a different day.

I can’t get behind the idea that since layers 1-8 are out players are too stupid to know it would get harder as you go up…

Ignore the sweaties, this is a good change for anyone who has more than 1 serious 60 to maintain.

High m+ keys are still a thing, m raids are still a thing, twisting corridors can be where the real challenge lies for the hardcore players, its really not that big of a deal and allows far more people to actually enjoy this feature

You know theres a section on the right called Twisting Corridors that’s not unlocked yet that has the rest of the layers? Or are you just blind?

The 8 layers we have now were never meant to be crazy exclusive challenges. They are tutorials for the real challenging content coming later, like normal and heroic dungeons. They tied soul ash to them to get people to actually try the new content they spent time on. Players who don’t like it will do enough to get the ash they need and never go back, players who like it can keep doing it, and people who want a challenge mode will get it.

This is great news. I was hoping really to see a nerf to Maw of the Maw overall, but the health/damage nerf might be enough of a boon.

You know what the best part is? The changes are happening and there’s nothing you can do about it except cry.

I support these changes :okaychamp:

Yes, I cleared a 7 on this toon and 8 on my Monk. I appreciate that tank specs have it easier but it was atleast not a literal pulling of half a floor like it was today.

edit: also, its week 3 and most are under geared. The hardest possible version SHOULD be nearly impossible right now.

These seem like good changes, I’d just add that if your goal is to reduce the length of Torghast runs, a minor change that would have a huge QoL benefit would be making phantasma from mobs auto loot when they die so you don’t have to run around looting dozens of times a run. The time saved would add up on top of just feeling better.

Eh, I’ll move on and live.

I’ll be back to comment on the threads that ask for twisting corridors to be nerfed too. Those will come soon.

This is a big part for me. So many people are in 170-190 gear and calling for nerfs.

It’s like being 415-435 gear in 8.3 and calling for nerfs because you expect to clear something.
