I did pre-nerf Layer 8 (both wings) on Tuesday, and after doing post nerf Layer 8 (Fractured Halls) can we please have an option to increase the difficulty?
It went from being a rough challenge where I actually had to kite and LoS casters to a DPSfest where nothing is threatening.

Okay, that’s fine. I already stated that I found multiple articles and most articles contain more games from the last twenty years than the previous decade. I’m sorry you’re stuck in the past- but games today are far harder than they have ever been. Especially when all these “lists” you keep referencing without any source. It’s clear that you’re in over your head. I’ll tell you what, give me your steam ID and your discord. I’ll buy you some truly hard games made in the last 10 years and you can stream them on Discord so I can have some entertainment as you fail to even get halfway through.

Should have left Torghast alone was it was in beta. Make the powers better for rouge (they seem to be only ones complaining). But nope you guys have to try and force tanks and healers group with them to carry them.
It was a design issue. Fix that is the way to go and not force players to group together when this is sold as a solo content.

These changes line up with what we were initially hearing out of beta. Everything I was reading anyways was that this first section was supposed to be pretty easy and that basically anyone could blow through them. How quickly that was done was basically up to what powers you got, but there was no real challenge in this initial release because it was designed for everyone.
The challenge part of it was to come with Twisting Corridors and its offering of cosmetic rewards.
The thought was it could be kept difficult because nothing with it was required, unlike this initial release and soul ash.
I think this is why you are seeing Ion discuss adding challenge when they get it " functioning correctly ". I get the sense that they didn’t really like where it was at either and that is going to take individual changes to abilities and maybe how the system hands out those abilities.

Okay and? Just because I’m not pushing 15 +, a heroic and Mythic Raider means I’m not allowed to enjoy the solo content which I pretty much exclusively do? I made a post saying that there should be difficulty modifiers, akin to the Halo skull system. I don’t want a challenge, I just want casual fun. Apparently I’m not the only one or they would not have changed this. And apparently there’s a lot of us. So Blizzard’s going to do what the majority wants.

Guys, I know it’s hard to believe, but you were spending more time a week doing daily mandatory chores in previous expansions than you were doing torghast twice a week. You just think it’s a huge, annoying time sink because you have to do it in a burst rather than in increments.
Yeah it’s called pugging not getting carried by a guild. Why you hiding behind your alt? Scared to show your progress?
This is honestly so stupid. This is the first week that Torghast was actually fun for me. All the previous layers have just fallen over with no struggle at all. Some of the changes are good, like removing the CC immunity on elites/bosses (like why was that ever a thing?). The soulstalkers were hitting way too hard in even layer 7, harder than the last boss. They’d take off half my pet’s health in one hit. That’s messed up and that needed to be brought in line. I found layer 8 Upper Reaches way easier than layer 7 of the other simply because of the soulstalkers. But nerfing it to the ease of layer 6? That’s stupid. The average person /shouldn’t/ be able to get through layer 8 at the moment. I mean, given that it’s the hardest thing available atm, it should be intended to be worked through in heroic or mythic raid gear.
I’m okay with some targeted fixes (like the CC thing, which should make things significantly better for squishier classes like mages and rogues). I’m okay with buffing underperforming powers. I’m okay with fixing things that are out of line with the rest of the difficulty, like how hard the soulstalkers were hitting. I am not okay with a blanket nerf to make layer 8 as much of a joke as layer 6 was.
But can you imagine grinding through 18 floors of this crap in one sitting with assassins spawning on top of you every time you stop to peek around the corner? It honestly sounds horrible. If the rewards are purely cosmetic, I guarantee that 99% of players will not even set foot in there. They’re going to have to backtrack on that and sweeten the pot with extra anima, soul ash, and/or raid-level gear.
I’m not sure how I feel about this. Is Torghast supposed to be a challenge at higher levels, I mean you can clear floor 3 and be set, there are really no rewards for doing higher levels at the moment.
How bout a feat of strength for beating both layers 8 pre-nerf? There wasn’t even an achievement or anything
