Updating Torghast this Week

Rather than modifying Torgast which would impact all classes and specs, wouldn’t it just be simpler to nerf havoc DH?

Even so, he solo cleared them as soon as they were open.

Not surprising. Wish I had that much free time though

Go watch the Ion interview with this dude on twitch that I can not be bothered to even learn his name. The interview was summarized on I think Wowhead or mmochampion.

Thank you.

It has 8 difficulty levels! That IS catering to many types of played! And players are too stupid to think “maybe a higher will be harder?”

Do people zone into a mythic raid and just cluelessly wonder why they died? It’s there in the game anyone can walk in.

Also, when you stated you wanted to reduce the length of a run were you only referring to the HP of NPCs? Anything about the physical size of the floors? Any changes to reduce the size somewhat, or perhaps add a permanent upgrade to Ve’Nari for an out of combat run speed buff?

What are you talking about? Games today are far harder than they used to be. This is really stupid take by a boomer.

If you look at the Shadowlands release patch notes, you will see a laundry list of DH nerfs. They actually buffed Havoc DPS by 5% in this week’s hotfix, so apparently Blizzard does not agree with your take.

I did have problems with how ling the runs took, but they could have shortened the floors or reduced hp, not damage. They basically made everything weak as.

And yes, unfortunately, a lit of players equate casual with bad. All casual means is time constraint, really. I know plenty of all day players that are bad, too. Like myself.

Thank god, it really was becoming a slog that felt like a painful chore instead of fun anymore. “Unnatural Power no longer provides immunity to crowd controlling effects at 10 stacks.” Probably my favorite change besides the hp nerfs. These bosses/elites being susceptible to CC actually made it feel like a more skillful encounter. You were rewarded for CCing at the right time to counter their abilities… till you weren’t and it became a mindless zerg dps race where you hope you got enough of the right powers to kill it before he’s practically 1 shotting you with all the abilities you can no longer stop.

To those worrying about not having a challenge anymore, that’s what twisting corridors is for. It’s coming up and Ion already said its tuned to be harder than the regular layers and it has 18 floors. So there you go, if you want a long, challenging torghast endeavor it’s there waiting for you. And Ion said they can continue to add to it and make it a relevant challenge in future patches. This is the best compromise for all parties. Weekly chore torghast isn’t so brutal, but if you want a challenge, go to twisting corridors for cosmetic rewards. Like mage tower.

This.

It is true that Torghast was -slightly- overtuned. But at the same time, some trolls have actually made a valid point… Layer 8 is the endgame! IT SHOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE. It should be a goal to aim for in my opinion. Post-buff and pre-nerf, it was a true challenge that seemed actually impossible a few times (on layer 8.) It was a challenge to STRIVE for. And again, layer 8 Upper Reaches with Synod as a endboss got done on a ilvl 161 BM hunt duoing with a 170ish boomy drood.

These changes just make it too easy. =/

Just my two cents. (Better go to the store and get change.)

Doing floor 5 allows you to make a 235 legendary in 6 weeks.

Doing floor 8 allows you to make a 235 legendary in 5 weeks.

They front loaded the soul ash.

So no, it’s not “‘mandatory” to always do the max. At all.

Stupid take by a zoomer who never played NES et al.

Games today are designed to hold your hand and make sure you win, stay playing so that you can spend money on microtransactions. Yes, there are some harder games today, but you can likely count them on one hand.

Not to mention you’re literally making this comment on a post where the developer has completely obliterated the difficulty of the content lol.

I’m amazed that anyone actually thinks otherwise. Completely dumbfounded actually.

i completely agree on some change to the death mechanic. i dont think it should be removed at all - …i infact like the mitigation strategy they use and sometimes the vendor offers the potion or w.e to up your available death count.

the CD reset on each new level is a …meh idea, im not happy or mad about it …it’s just not necessary imo - good management of CD’s is something im proud to be able to do - its the same thing in a dungeon - to maximize dps - and now more efficient players don’t get to enjoy that.

The spellcasting thing is a toss up because even though for example …in arms i only have 1 interrupt …well…two if they are susceptible to fear, but i often rely on my damage mitigation ability - ignore pain - and saving my interrupt for specific casts that i KNOW hurt.

Overall I agree with you!

LOL, this little kid !!! You can’t hide your lies!

Okay you’re actually toxic.

We know what each raid difficulty drops for gear so we can gauge what kind of gear you need; with Torghast layers we don’t know until you go in there.

They can always add more layers (aka more difficulties). Why is that so hard to understand? They are trying to make it more fun.

Well I can’t really base myself or 90% of the subscription base on the most progressed guild. I base it on what I as a filthy casual have the time for and I don’t have the time to bang my head against a Layer 3 run for two hours and still fail when I am running Mythic +3 to Mythic +6 consistently, especially if its the main method to get currency for the Legendary.

I’ll probably also do naked runs of torghast and see how much gear I can take off so Torghast at least poses some iota of challenge like it did this week. Yeah looks like undergeared alts is gonna be the way to go for any sort of challenge.
