I think it’s pretty clear that upper layers of Torghast could be distinctly not-fun, thanks to sometimes absurd hp and damage values, but I’m not sure these changes are the way to make it fun.
Make use of the insular nature of the instance and give us more interesting powers. Give us builds. You have a tremendous amount of old abilities and effects to make use of - I’d rather the mob health remain the same, but more ridiculous stuff to return if only for this brief time in Torghast.
I’d like to rerun Torghast over and over with the expectation of trying some fun new overpowered setup, rather than simply chasing “Earth Elemental Cooldown is reduced by x%” or “Haste increased by 3%”.
Could we get other option to acquired Soul ash than this stupid Tower. I get it some people actually enjoy it but i don’t. why aren’t we getting some with the great Vault ? or 25 even per m+ completed … daily WQ… something else than this damn thing
2 hours and im not whining - you mentioned it taking hours and you’re whining that you can’t get it done with a group - we are not the same…next question troll?
I want to keep going for a while. Especially in these 6-level quests where I’m standing there with 22 anima powers (3 I just bought) boss is dead and now I have to leave.
I didn’t even bother above layer 2 unless it was a group. The sheer amount of variability made it too much of a risk. The tank specs have a completely different experience in the Tower. My guildmate was running 4s and 5s solo as tank warrior as soon as they opened.
The problem is that it’s not really a challenge for a lot of specs/classes, it’s luck or downright impossible. It absolutely sucks to spend 1hr+ slogging through needlessly high health/dmg enemies, where you can’t take a break due to assassins, to then find out that the boss is literally impossible because you got the wrong anima powers or worse even with the best anima powers you get dropped. I can’t speak to other classes but I know for a fact that Rogues have some of the absolute worst anima powers and unless you get stupidly lucky and can stack the few good ones you often don’t have a chance. As a rogue I have to plan every single pull and if I get 2 elites and a few normal mobs it’s game over, hope vanish is off cooldown. Even then there are certain elites I need absolutely all cooldowns to kill and assassins without a cooldown are a toss up. On the opposite side you had some classes pulling entire rooms with no difficulty or chance of death.
Torghast is massively imbalanced right now, it’s not “challenging” in the way of well crafted content and mechanics. It’s challenging in a roll the boulder up a hill way. If you found it challenging cool congrats, other classes/specs have given up because it’s simply not worth the hours to spend getting to the end boss and finding out there is no statistical way to beat the boss.
Reading the interview he basically said they are nerfing it because players are too stupid to understand that higher floors are meant to be more difficult (apparently a higher number doesn’t make it obvious) and players tend to expect to just keep moving them.
