UPDATED: The weekly Nightfall quest can now be completed on every toon, not just once per warband.
Why is the token that can be exchanged for Champion gear from the Nightfall event only available once per account per week (through “The Flame Burns Eternal” warband quest), and not once per toon per week?
Can you imagine if raid boss loot lockouts or M+ rewards were similarly available only once per account per week, and your alts or main toon could not get gear rewards despite you putting in the effort multiple times, and you needing and wanting the power increases on each of your toons (not to mention the gear set appearance unlocks for the classes that you play)? No, because that would not make sense.
Put the token reward on an activity that can be completed once per week on each toon, such as the first boss kill or set of dailies completed per week. Or let the weekly Nightfall completion quest be available per toon and not warband. Stop the elitist geargating, as even with each toon being able to get their own rewards it’s going to take months to get a full set of Champion gear (which is already DE fodder for competitive players).
Now it’s going to take at least 156 weeks to get all the gear rewards (9 armor, 2 trinkets, 1 or 2 weapons) if you have one toon of each class? Make this make sense.
Yes, even though I saw someplace that it said you could do this on every toon it doesnt seem to be so.
Very frustrating!!! Makes one not want to do these “events”
Had to delete my earlier response but, yes, that is how it went with Dreamsurges.
They only started doing this “once per account” gear restriction this season. Starting with the Undermine World Boss.
With Dreamsurges in the season that they dropped, each toon could get 1 token (thereby 1 piece of Champion gear from the vendor) per week. It was the best alt gearing this game has ever seen.
Well they should at least make the token tradeable to a toon on your account that needs it. If I knew it was only once per account I wouldnt have run my hunter first.
Doing dailies on 13 alts would be insane. But doing the Nightfall event once per toon over the course of a week sounds pretty reasonable, and that’s actually what I was planning on doing… until now.
With Time Rifts, there was indeed an account-wide quest that awarded a large amount of currency, but that made sense as those rewards were account-wide. Each toon could also separately earn soulbound tokens for gear (that was not Champion) on a weekly basis.
Dreamsurge gear was downgraded in later seasons, but in the season that they released you could get 1 piece of Champion gear per toon per week. I was able to earn complete class sets (Normal and Heroic by catalyzing before upgrading) on open world alts.
I forgot about the new world boss reward system. So maybe this only one piece of Champion gear per account thing is actually intentional?!
But I remember when you could get MULTIPLE pieces of Normal raid gear per week on EACH toon from doing half a dozen things like the N’Zoth invasions (2 per week), emissaries, warfronts, etc. in BfA.
I have multiple toons. This system is my worst nightmare, as I can’t physically gear them past Veteran. Even the maliciously designed Shadowlands systems didn’t do this to you.
