[Updated Sept. 12] Shadowlands Season 4—Now Live!

Put the slime cat mount on mythic only

Better yet, overtune all the boss fights on all difficulties, on purpose, so no one can get the slimy gooey saber. :money_mouth_face: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :astonished:

No, I got it, I got it! Gait raiding behind content casuals love. Casuals have to grind 10,000 kills in ZM. I can see the bump in tokens now, but reversed. Then the casuals buy tokens for the slime mount. Massive bump in revenue fixes tie

Since it’s available in Normal I feel that’s a bit specious. Normal is organized Raiding for Casuals.

Now if you said Ion and his crew don’t give a rip about players who don’t engage in organized content and/or play solo I’d agree with you. I feel like Blizz could appease that group with some simple tweaks but they go back and forth about it each x-pac.

I agree with you to an extent about non organized raid group players and solo players getting spat on by the development process. But i still stand by my analogy.

Like, imagine how peeved everyone would have been during original wow, when everyone was complaining about Cthun being impossible to kill. Ion hazzikostas provided the numbers and the stats, in a constructive post no less, telling the developer’s that they needed to nerf that boss. He was just an average joe player to.

Imagine how peeved everyone would have been if the developer’s kept saying they were going to nerf Cthun. Everything was going well. The nerfs were provided. The numbers were provided. Everything was provided all the way to the Alpha and PTR builds. Then, they released it without nerfing or doing anything without telling anyone. And just swinging around and telling everyone that everything was fine.

I think everyone would not want to play anymore, knowing that cthun would have been impossible to kill otherwise. Also getting that feeling in believing, like, hey guys. Blizzard is going to nerf Cthun. We are actually going to be able to kill this dude. But then not being able to kill it until burning crusade came out or something like that. No one would be happy.

Same thing here. All the way through alpha and PTR, it said, clear the fated raids on shadowlands season 4. Just clear the raids. All you need to do. No mention of anything else. No difficulty requirements or any of that other junkmail until the last minute. So alot of people were led to believe that LFR would be included, when maybe, it was the intention from the beginning to make it not related to LFR.

Either way, it still is frustrating that there has been no communication on this. No blue forum post. Nothing. No communication whatsoever. No mention of why they worded it the way they did. Or why it was left on the Alpha and PTR like that for so long. Or if a programmer fell asleep at the keyboard while everything was going on. Nothing.

Even if when naxxramas was released and guilds might have been able to get better gear there, Cthun would have still have been impossible to kill in the pre nerfed state. And ion and his elitist jerks would have been mad as all heck to. Everyone would have. Because they could not progress. Even though they were told the nerfs were happening and all that, and then they got no nerfs or rebalances.

To clarify, they are just misleading all of their non organized content goers, and all of their solo players, and they don’t seem to give a rip about them. Which is downright frustrating. If they had no intentions in the beginning of making the gooey slime saber available on LFR, they should have worded it that way in the beginning.

Heck, even the no dungeon finder crowd being mad in wrath I am a bit more lenient on. I am not frustrated with that at all. At least they didn’t mention during the wrath stuff, all the way until the beta and PTR, stating, dungeon finder included. And then turning around and adding a no in front of that at the last minute. I always knew there was a chance that the dungeon finder would be absent from wrath classic, so i was fine with it.

With this, it is just downright deceitful. No communication makes it even worse.

Heck, even the longboi brutosaur wasn’t this bad. At least we new for a long time we needed to get to farming that gold. I don’t remember anything making everyone feel like they were going to have it in the game forever.

I mean, some mounts make sense to be exclusive, generally as long as we are told that in the beginning. But even then, the longboi for example, why is that the only skin and model. Even the wrath mammoths, for comparison, which are basically the same kind of a deal here, had more reskins. 3 grand mammoths. 3 small mammoths. I definitely feel like the longboi brutosaur should have been done the exact same way. 3 big longboi brutosaurs. 3 small longboi brutosaurs. And the 2 longboi brutosaurs would be extras, possibly for solo content players or whatever, and have no vendors.

I honestly haven’t farmed mounts in years. They are becoming more and more exclusive. Mainly to pvpers and hardcore normal, heroic and mythic raiders. They never seem to do reskins as much anymore either. Like, i think it wouldn’t be so bad here if there were 4 gooey slime sabers, and there was an option for each one that fits each players individual playstyle. And even if it wasn’t the color i wanted. Oh well. At least i was able to get a gooey slime saber. All the cool kids could brag about how awesome they were to get the green one, and i could be cool getting the yellow one or whatever.

I remember doing shadowpan dailies in pandaria. Finnaly i was able to get a saber. They took the zulian tiger away from me. Now you have to trek through alot of stuff, and then fork over a fortune in gold to buy it from the vendor. It is unbelievable how bad inflation is in this game. It is bad in real life to, but i remember being baffled going from 100 k being the most expensive thing in the game, the alliance chopper in wod, to that 2 million gold spider in Legion.

I mean, seriously. I think this is the confirmation for me. They do not care about casual solo players, or casual non organized raid and non organized dungeon players. At all.
3 requirements now. Have a truckload of gold at all times. Be a competitive pvper. Or be a competitive elitist jerk raid player. Only way you seem to be able to get mounts now in retail. Also be lucky.

It is purely the misleading wording of the achievement that blows my mind though. I can accept most other things. But they led all those player types on. But oh well i guess. This is blizzard we are talking about here. I just hate the idea of being deceived. You can make cheap content, and less models and reskins of mounts, and make it so only hardcore raiders and hardcore pvpers are able to get anything mount related, you can make it so only people who survived gold inflation of wod can afford anything now. But don’t deceive people into thinking they are going to get something when they are going to get absolutely nothing. Like shoot blizzard.

I mean, shadowlands has been the worst expansion in the history of wow, out of every version of the game, for anyone on the casual spectrum getting anything. Like i have gotten nothing this expansion. Nothing i wanted anyway. As a more casual geared player, who generally plays solo. I never do LFR either, unless there is a reason to. Wod 10th anniversary event for example. Clear a raid by queing up, get a molten core mount, for example. But man is this expansion casual and alt unfriendly.

I have gotten the tree from shadowlands. And that doesn’t even count in my op. I cannot even remember if shadowlands was out yet when that thing was mentioned as a community vote. But i didn’t do any shadowlands content to get it, so, in my mind, it doesn’t count. Still a cool mount though. But it isn’t the same.

Then you had a couple more, such as the horse donkey thingy. You fed it fruit, and brought it different materials each day and you eventually got it. Then you had that caterolozilleropillar thingy in ardenweald. But the point is, it is not that this expansion had nothing for casuals to get. I was wrong there. But i did not want those mounts. And if i don’t want something. I am not going to put in the work to get it. And i am sure there are others, but you get the idea.

But i think everyone can agree, that, everyone wanted this gooey saber. And i mean everyone. It had second highest votes, if we are going to count the community survey as shadowlands content for the sake of this post. I wanted it. And i had my eyes on the prize. And was 99 percent sure i would be able to get it. But no. After the PTR, and the wording of the achievement completion should have never have been left the way it was if they had no intention of including it on LFR in the first place, it was changed. To normal mode only.

So, congratz blizzard on deceiving a majority of your casual solo and non organized content players into believing they were actually able to get something they really wanted, but then were told no at the last bloody minute. Like they deceived everyone into believing it would be possible to get the thing they wanted by their own means and playstyles. And that is just straight up, messed up.

Probably because their data shows those type of players tend to come and go more often since they don’t have real social ties to the game.

Wtf happened to WoD pvp gearing???

buff boomy literally unerf starsurge by -33% in pvp give us full value its more then time for that revert

Can’t join pugs. Pugs always require ilvl higher than most of us casual players have. Therefore, if its not on LFR then without going to an outside source, most of us won’t be able to obtain this mount. No motivation to even read any more of this update

I dislike seasons. It’s just the same content again because you don’t really have anything to add.

I would like to take this opportunity however and suggest you keep the xp buff until dragonlands. I actually went through shadowlands twice (no maw, mind you) all the way to 60 on a couple of characters. And I prefer classic at this point so I feel like that says something about the improved xp gains in retail.

yup another switch-a-roo not like normals are hard but still it was advertised for all difficulties and now right befor launch we get this sounds like another mage tower all over again cant even keep too there word on anything just wanna run people out of there game tell them one thing then do the exact opposite.

yah switched right near launch of it “slime saber” or should we say slimy tactic that we have all seen befor is this seriously what companies do now lie too the people that support them because that seems to be the case here brainwash everyone to believing one thing then just change it at a whim just because they have zero middle ground on anything anyone wants they just make the game for the worse and it isn’t just me who see it that way

ive tried giving them the benefit of a doubt over mistakes but this isnt a mistake this is what they go by the book on to lure people in then switch it right befor launch its just the fact yah stuff is subject to change but at the same time its a form of manipulation / gaslighting the people that play pay for subscriptions to get bassically no content from the patch they gate everything to obnoxious difficulty levels that most people dont want to play at and thats fine but to have stuff dictated like that when everyone pays a sub should have access to content not a multitude of difficulties that is nothing but a gate on difficulty or making stuff in-accessable to a large portion of players thats not how video games thrive.

Llways liked world of warcraft but like any franchise is sinking into the corporate greed and its festering in the game you can flat see it in trade chat with scam sales being posted and this is the direction for most now no one should have to come onto wow and feel like its a flat job or have to run stuff like a mindless zombie with low probability rng gearing that isnt even a form of skill or time involvement in getting its just flat luck like a casino when everyone knows the game is built on a damage meter or pumping numbers cant do the numbers you get no where.

I honestly feel that the turn over rate is extremely high for this game now. They just cannot seem to do their jobs well enough to keep everyone satisfied and invested in playing.

I also feel like paid level boosts through the store doesn’t help. Because, it just encourages people to pay their way to the max level in 10 seconds, and then eventually run out of stuff to do 2 months later.

They never seem to bust out enough content either. Usually pretty shallow. At the same time, everyone gets tired of being deceived and lied to. And all the misinformation and everything else that gets spread after awhile over anything and everything.

I think i just have finnaly learned my lesson. Not gonna unsub. Just not going to be surprised when anyone gets shafted anymore, when something gets worded differently or changed at the last minute, i will no longer be surprised.

Are evokers coming in dragonflight. Maybe. They might decide to delete the class entirely out of the game 2 days before the expansion launches. Sounds a bit extreme, but it is just the way i see it. The achievement for the gooey saber was worded and implied that i would be able to use LFR to get it. Now i cannot.

So i built up false hype and got screwed. So now, i am going to take every single announcement from this company with a grain of salt. Everything.

And to those who are going to tell me to unsub. Clearly, that isn’t working. They probably had more subs lost and money last year alone than any other year because of all the bullcorn going on, and they are still surviving. It is capitalism, and i understand how it works. Unless only like 200 players are here tommorow, and everyone else left, they will still have enough money to deceive and lie to whoever they feel like, and do whatever they feel like.

I just know my place now. If i am actually able to get something by my means, and my playstyle. Cool. I was right for once. But i will never get deceived again.

Seems the only thing this company has changed, and the only thing that they aren’t doing anymore, is abusing and being evil towards woman. Exact same company now as they were before. I keep thinking, oh, they might change. They are changing. They might actually make a intelligent decision this time around. But it is always the same. They never will change.

It is frustrating though. I love this game. But i hate how it is managed. I try to be constructive to try and get my feedback pushed through. But as it stands, trying to be positive about wow is a pain.

Also, no one officialy came out and stated that LFR was going to be fair game for the gooey saber. But the achievement was left worded the way it was implying all difficulties would be fair game for a fairly long time. All the way through the PTR. All the way up until a day or so ago, and now, normal is required. I just do not understand why they waited until 2 days before season 4 of shadowlands went live to tell us that normal mode was required, when this whole time, when the achievement implied this entire time that LFR would be fair game. Unless they wanted to deceive everyone. I just do not trust them anymore. Been trying to believe they are doing a better job. But they aren’t.

How hard would it have been to word the achievement with the normal mode raiding only tag line months ago. So no one would have gotten confused. Or felt like they had been cheated and lied to.

Just more aware now. Doesn’t matter what a spokesperson says. Or what an achievement says. Or what anyone or anything says. Could change 2 seconds later. Lesson learned. Hooraay for me. If my warrior toon is deleted in classic tommorow. Meh. No one said he would be around forever. Blizz might just decide they don’t support the warrior class anymore. They clearly can do whatever the heck they want. And no one can seem to stop them. I just wish they would make more logical decisions. So i will try and hold out hope. But no more getting deceived and getting lied to. I have done that to myself this time.

I just don’t get it…

Give LFR GooCat to work towards = More subs and more money as folks stick around to try for it.

LFR is Tutorial island… The game has plenty of new player communities in game and on discord/ wow forums that are for players looking to work together for normal raids. you dont have to leave your guild to play with these groups. just search them, ask to join, and research the fight. most guides are 1-5 min and give all the info you need to do well.

Spend 1 hr looking up guides and communities and I’m sure you will find them and be set up for a progression plan to get your mount. Put a little effort in and enjoy the game.

Ill even do half the work for you…

M+ community to help with gearing and prepping for raids:
discord. com/invite/umQMv39Ynh
Guild recruiting community:
discord. com/invite/wFuQsrgPPq
Achievement community:
discord. com/invite/M4cWdh9
WOWHEAD post for discord servers:
wowhead. com/discord-servers

That took 5 min of google time to find a list to start with and grow from. I understand Normal is harder to pug than LFR however with a little personal effort you all can do it easily

The amount of typing you’ve done here you could’ve learned every single normal raid boss and been ready to pug as soon as they dropped lmao

Personally I think they should put the mythic raid mounts and elite sets in LFR instead of gatekeeping them

Give everyone everything

Make Slime cat LFR! As for the whole oh “Normal isn’t hard argument” Doesn’t that diminish the reward too? and to counter “Hahaha LFR is harder cause all the AFKers and wipes.” Wouldn’t that mean making it obtainable in LFR be worthy too?

Fam, we don’t want Season 4 either. Where did this narrative of “high-end players enjoy having their season cut in half so they can revisit the raids they already cleared” come from???

I mean, it just isn’t worth it either way. I like doing easy stuff. All of the mounts i have, were easy to get. If i have to go out of my way, im not gonna do it. Simple as that.

I was invested when it seemed like i could get it with relative ease, like the molten core event in wod. But now, just not invested. As i really don’t like raiding anyways.

I work hard all day at work, with stuff that never makes sense. Last thing i want to do is be hardcore in wow when i get home. I mean, i was the fool for thinking it would stay worded the way it was, and not be changed at the last minute.

Again, people talk about how easy normal mode raiding is or whatever. Then i should be able to just walk in there, with the gear i have, and be done with it. In LFR, you just que, follow some basic mechanics here and there, and you are done. Mount earned. If normal was that easy, then no one would be complaining right now.

Just not going to get fooled again. I can live without the gooey saber. And if by some miracle i can get a carry, that doesn’t cost me anything, and has nothing else attached to it, and it takes like 3 hours. Then, hooray me.

Still feels stupid to change the wording at the last minute for the achieve. But i know now. Never again though.
