What is the point of housing, at least in the form Blizz is implementing it?
They say there will never be any utility, not even QoL utility, because they’re terrified that people won’t slog their way into the city and back if they can just hop home instead… so is the point just a place to put up decorations?
Yes. It is cosmetic creativity fun. Like Transmogs.
Release date…when?
If it doesn’t at least offer some travel utility or something… hard pass.

so the full release for the prepatch is Dec 2nd, this was just to be the stress test for it - before they delayed it ofc

December 2nd is patch 11.2.7, not prepatch, which is 12.0.
Housing Early Access for those who prepurchased Midnight starts December 2nd, if you don’t prepurchase the expansion you still can start collecting furniture but you won’t have access to a house or neighbourhood.

“Temporarily delayed” sounds like a few hours… Blizz what’s the scoop?
Holly Longdale ran the Everquest franchise for years, directly before coming to WoW. She knows how empty the game world looks when every guild stays in their guild hall, with its portals, crafting stations and QoL items bubbling from every corner. This is a large problem that Everquest 2 has.
Most cities are almost empty anyway… at least on the servers I’m on, everyone is in the “current” city and the rest are ghost towns.
I think this is in part because it’s such a chore to get from one city to another, and the transit nodes are – in most cities – spread out and inconvenient to get between.
Is the Housing up yet on the PTR?

Really hoping we do get to test this. Alpha is interesting, but without access to all the reps, achievements, etc on my main I have nothing to put IN the house. Looking forward to having enough stuff to design a room or two.
