Except, unless the rare mobs continue to spawn and drop the item after the pre-patch is over (like the Iron Horde that drop the Bronze Whelpling pet, from the Warlords pre-patch), it’s entirely possible (even likely) that someone could kill literally every icecrown rare that spawns, and never see a single memento drop. And unless we get official confirmation that the minibosses will continue to spawn, just “grind for it” isn’t really a solution.

I haven’t seen one yet. Does the ghost remain indefinitely? Or does it just pop out and say boo and despawn?

Not gunna lie, didn’t know it was rare. I started getting this random debuff I didn’t know about. Saw the item in my bags and I was like “oh cool” and through it in my bank

The Haunted Memento is still worth a lot. Has been since the day the prepatch was over.
