Unsure of What Class to Play

So, been back for a while, trying every class the game has to offer but I am uncertain of what to go for. Evoker was fun, but not exactly what I am looking for and Shaman, I do really like but I am kinda waiting for a tank spec to continue with my Shaman. All the other classes are fun or okay to me with the only one I don’t know if I like at all being Rogue. I had been playing Druid again since it was my first main for WoW from 2004 - 2012 but it feels… slower? Not really sure how to explain it. Doesn’t feel like it used to, I guess.

I do like a class that can juggle all three archetypes (DPS, Healer, Tank) with relative ease which allows me to stick to one character a lot better but I don’t really know what’s best for that. Would that be Monk, Paladin or Druid? To be honest, Enhancement Shaman feels as tanky but I know it’s not.

Ret paladin. Real good. Or frostfire frost mage. Super fun.

Personally I enjoy monk more overall compared to pally but I’d suggest trying each one and going with what feels best to you.

Warlocks and Rogues for all of WoW’s History have always been fun to play. Since you don’t like Rogue and want a hybrid class (I still recommend trying out Warlock!!!) Paladin and Druid are your best picks imo.

Paladin is generally very good and easy to play with Prot and Ret.

Druid is also very new player friendly though you might not like Feral where it plays a bit like rogue.

I do recommend having 1 of every class leveled even if you don’t like how they play currently.

Going to second Druid. You can melee DPS, caster DPS, tank, and heal.

Also, any of you guys remember the “What class should I be?” quizzes/questionnaires you’d see online years ago?

~re class recommendations:
Outside of asking class specific questions we can’t determine what you’ll end up enjoying.

I.E: Even if we all said ‘Play Monk’ in truth it might not be a hit for you upon giving it a go.

With that said here is my recommendation and why:

Paladin: Retribution is in a good spot and the numbers show for it. Protection Paladin is the second most represented tank and can be super clutch with the kicks it brings to a party. Holy Paladin is strong but has a higher skill ceiling than some other healers. Best thing about Paladin is how simple your stat distribution is.

Prot: Haste > Mastery > Crit >= Vers
Ret: Crit > Mastery = Haste > Vers
Holy: Haste > Crit > Mastery = Vers

You can stack a reasonable amount of Haste, Crit and Mastery and have a low amount of Vers and be fine in all Paladin specs. It feels great!

Monk is the perfect choice for you. All three specs are effective and easy to play. Brewmaster needs some adjustment to the stagger but I wouldn’t call them complicated.

Besides this, why don’t you just make iconic race/class specs and roll with whatever you’re in the mood? You have 65 characters slots, after all.

Don’t forget about class trial characters, either live or on the 11.2 PTR.

Set up bars, smash some target dummies, see how the flow feels and how to work in all their abilities.

I know. Just want to try to figure out what I want for a class which is quite difficult with the whole race locks and all. The classes I WANT to play aren’t classes the race I like playing has which is Druid and Paladin so it’s made a lot harder for me to decide because who the hell knows when Vulpera or Dracthyr will get the two classes, it would be nice to know if it’s soon but… eh.

If you really want to play all three roles then Druid followed by Monk.

Vulpera monk then cause they’re cute.

I like paladin and druid. I prefer druid because of the faster movement inside and out of dungeons and having aquatic form, lets me do underwater stuff without ever having to worry about air mechanics.

There is no indication that this is even a remote possibility

From what you have stated, I would go with Pally or Monk.

Both are pretty good right now. Monk might be a bit weaker in some ares, but lots of fun to play. (Well, for me.)

Pally is also good, and as a previous posted stated, the stats are pretty much the same so easy to switch between specs.

One can hope. There’s less tanks around than there are healers or DPSes, It wouldn’t kill them to make Shaman a tank, especially with how Enhancement Shaman is. Enhancement Shaman feels like it should be a tank spec but… it isn’t.

You are more than welcome to hope. As long as you realize there is no reason to think it’s happening. No class has been had a 4th spec added out of the blue. No, druids don’t count for obvious reasons.

But you might as well say you aren’t playing rogue until they are giving it a healing spec.

There isn’t a tank shortage that this would effect. And no clue how enh feels like a tank spec.

play Paladin
prot is really fun at the moment, and its also an A tier tank for M+

Pick a class that has a tank spec. Trust me.
