That classic segment of blizzcon felt really bad.
Feels like they wanna torch classic and force you to play burning crusade. I felt ostracized as someone who likes vanilla more than burning crusade after watching that.

People started playing on private servers because Blizzard wasnt willing to fulfill what people where asking for years ago when people started asking for Classic. If Blizzard isnt willing to continue to fulfill their needs fully expect people to go back to playing on private servers.
Back on private servers guilds like Apes, Onslaught and Salad Bakers would start again on new private servers after clearing Naxx for a while. I personally expected that Blizzard would launch fresh Vanilla servers so they and people like them would have the option to do it again officially if they wanted. I personally know of a couple of people that also talked about playing on fresh Vanilla servers to play the other faction or other classes. At this point it looks like if you are someone that wants to playing on a fresh vanilla or even TBC server, you are going to have play on a private server. And IMO that just sucks.

I think unsubing because they didnt announce fresh servers is a bit rash at this point. Blizzard just needs to get feed back that not doing fresh servers is bad.

You will have a phase 6 server forever that you can play in. Private server players don’t understand this, but people like having progress they can keep that isn’t deleted every year with the new fresh hype. WoW is not PoE.

It just needs like 1-2 servers that don’t allow the boosts, copies, or transfers. Some wanna start fresh that shouldn’t be that hard to do.

Aye take a low pop west and low pop east server, merge them into another low pop server, then use the left over servers to do an east coast and west coast fresh classic server.

I prob wont unsub if they don’t include fresh servers, but really why wouldn’t they? Why not make everybody happy? The extra server space cant be that big of a deal for a big company like blizzard. I am sure they will pay for themselves.

Maybe players wanting fresh are the minority but you only need about 2k people or a really solid TBC server. And its not like people are pushing for 5 fresh servers in every region. It seems reasonable to me that Blizzard could release 1 fresh vanilla and TBC server in every region and feel it out the demand.

Not to try and speak for anyone but months ago people in my guild where talking about potentially playing on fresh Vanilla servers instead of going to TBC and I think based on past actions a lot of players in Apes, Onslaught and Salad Bakers among many others that did and didnt play on private servers would disagree with you. I think for some people its about the journey or experiencing things from a different perspective. For instance the people in my guild where talking about playing Alliance instead of playing Horde.
