ally has 43 or 44 i think
is there 71 or 77 horde spots? or something like that
The real reason?
Blizzard probably wanted to cash in on faction transfers for those couple seasons where they kept changing racial abilities. A LOT of people rode that FOTM hard, especially with the addition of all the allied factions. I’m sure it boosted the hell out of their service sales.
I kind of think it’s the opposite almost. I don’t think Blizzard likes all of the top PVPers constantly swapping factions to dogpile onto 1 and imbalance the crap out of the factions.
There’s now a downside to doing so in the form of much harder to achieve R1 titles. High end PVP nerds who stayed horde are “rewarded” with more and easier to hit R1 titles.
i wouldn’t assume that the financial desisions of about 200 people can convince blizzard to do anything. whatever the actual reason for faction r1 title splits, it likely has nothing to do with how r1 players behave and everything to do with how it makes world questers behave
Ally will never be satisfied huh.
Alliance has crap racials: Whaaaaa Horde racials too good, everyone’s rolling Horde. They outnumber us and farm us whaaaaa.
Blizz blesses Alliance with superior racials: whaaaa all the good players are Ally and it’s harder to compete now. WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
People like you are why we can’t have nice things.
Imagine wanting to push r1 alli as an enhancement shaman.
When did alliance have bad racials? You’re delusional
That and bring back old gladiator.
Ive hated this garbage split faction system ever since they implemented it and its been 2 expansions and it STILL HASNT ACHIEVED WHAT HOLINKA WANTED IN TERMS OF FACITON BALANCE. IT CLEARLY IS A GARBAGE IDEA
Both factions have really good racials lol
Anyways as for what nahj said it’s actually funny, Ally R1 ends at 3072, Horde at 2954
Only 1 horde player is in ally r1 range but they’re also #1 on ladder
You really want to compare 20% reduced stun duration to the ability to vanish or play adapt/relent because your racial can break stuns for you?
They’re not even close in balance. Go ask Cdew why he faction changed, I’m sure it was because he thinks Dwarves look cool and no other reason ![]()
Orc adapt is still pretty potent vs a lot of things, saying orc racial is bad is pretty silly as well
Alliance has a wider range of useful racials, but I think denying the strength of orc is silly
Cdews team would have been better off on horde anyways, Rsham cleaves are still optimal on that faction, same with MW cleaves
Druids are going to prefer alliance because of shadowmeld, priests will want alliance because they can’t be orc and human is much better for them in that case so they can play human rele etc
And EU has much better faction balance too
Orc+trinket and Human Rele are very comparable with one another though. Some classes that can have both might prefer one more than the other (like orc MW is more favored generally than human esp looking at EU)
The biggest benefit with alliance is there’s more specific races useful for certain classes. For example a class like warrior has a ton of really good options, orc, human, gnome are all t1 racials for them. Priests used to love being undead but since fears suck nowadays it hardly matters to have that option, same with monks so undead racial is garbage and this is the biggest thing that throws horde off if anything (before WoD it was super even, although belf in legion gave quite a bit more usefulness)
At the end of the day though the split faction titles are so silly, they aren’t actually going to make that massive of a swing in your rating which is why now that it only applies to r1 and not just gladiator too it’s quite silly
Like if you really think the person thats rank 45 on NA doesn’t deserve R1 over the person that’s rank 140 on NA and getting R1 instead you’re being silly, especially because people made these same arguments in Legion when Ally still had the same amount of good/solid racials yet ally just wasn’t as popular in NA yet absolutely fine competitively
If we had old r1 system, then the top 116 would be achieving their titles, so it’s funny seeing how flawed this can be where we have people who aren’t even top .1% overall getting the same title over someone who was actually significantly higher than them (110+ rating difference, which racials will not give).
I’m just happy we getting Vulperas and their Yiff racial so we can have balance again.
I think the old system makes more sense from a player ability standpoint because the person at 45 would absolutely deserve it. Even if I didn’t end up getting up it was still great to play against everyone at that caliber and see myself progress over the season but there’s definitely others more deserving who won’t get it.
Bro imagine pushing R1 as enhance period
the only thing I can see going for it is that since you cant queue cross faction so the pool of people you can push with is much more limited on whichever faction isnt dominant ergo making it harder to push generally speaking
idc really about the split but it doesnt seem like an improvement overall though
I haven’t been following the ladder so I’m wondering if the faction cutoff disparity was evident earlier in the season or did it only appear near the end?
Mix of both, last season some of the tourney teams xfered ally so that r1 was still difficult, but even more this season just clogged up the amount of spots available pmuch
Also way more people with alts of the same class
