Unravel the Secrets of Azeroth

Not really

While the last clue will make its way into Azeroth on September 13, you won’t be left out if you don’t get to play along each day. Every clue and reward will remain available to be found long after the dust settles.

It might as well be fomo with how infrequent this ‘‘holiday’’ esque thing will be :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

See this was posted up above. Directly from the article. It’s not FOMO or a holiday.

Yes, I can read but what I wrote, you might of misunderstood.

Yeah, well I have 100 rupees

:dragon: :ocean: :dragon: :ocean:

Artifact thefts? Did someone steal my hunters Titanstrike weapon? Or my locks scepter of Sargeras

Like a FOMO inversion or something?

I see what you mean now though… there’s some weirdness with how events are going that I’m sure could confuse players.

The detail is in the writing. They want you to know that it’ll be back but it’s unclear how often and so on. Hence in some ways plays off that feeling some people get on ‘fomo’ stuff so they’ll push themselves to get it now. It’s kinda clever how Blizzard is doing this ‘‘fomo but not fomo’’ approach per se lol - - that really ticks on some human behavioral boxes.

Seriously…theres a discord community just for finding secrets in this game. And they have to use datamining before patches come out before even starting due to the “secrets” are hidden in ways impossible to find.

Also encourages players in the content update to activly seek help in the community…a.k.a. reading wowhead comments

So that’s a no, then.

Not sure…troll or white knighter?

You know how the game works…why are you trolling?

Almost 24k forum posts…blizzard employee here to debunk any sane thoughts?

Straight to personal insults.

I think we’re done here, kiddo.

Anyone know yet who starts this? Will it just pop up on Log in like other events or will we have to find an NPC. I wont get to start it until after work tonight, so going to be several hours late on the first draws.

starts 3 pm pacific, doesn’t say where to go yet, I am sure a ! will pop up in the cities at 3

I don’t understand anyone that wants this.

In the era of JUST the group finder, I understand Archy. You click “queue” and for the next 15-20mins, you have something to do. It may be boring (ymmv), it may be annoying if your dig site is populated with mobs or worse ELITE mobs, but it’s at least something to do while you wait.

But in the era of M+, where you have to ACTIVELY participate in finding a group, you don’t have time to deal with Archy. It made sense to take it out.

But barring all that PRACTICAL stuff, I’m working on the Archy achievements that I had put off since MoP… and in doing so, I’m reminded WHY I put them off. It’s not enough to find a special item in MoP, you have to find it TWENTY TIMES!!!

It’s not enough to find a rare item in WoD (Legion and BfA), you have to find the “RARE VERSION OF IT.” Which tends to take, you guessed it, about 20 times.

Everything about Archy just SCREAMS: we are going to utterly, and RIDICULOUSLY waste your time. It’s at a level that is nothing short of insulting. If you’re in the tin-foil hat crowd and openly complain about Blizzard actively pushing ways to boost MAUs … this is your GOLDEN CHILD.

I don’t understand how ANYONE wants that to come back.

Nice!

I’ll be able to get the alpaca mount since I missed my chance in BFA. Had to take care of family business so I had to miss BFA.

 :llama:

Then don’t do it? :dracthyr_shrug:

It’s a grind in an MMO. Not everyone does M+ or wants to spend all of their game time pushing their numbers or whatever it is you do. Some of us just want to queue up a new show on Netflix on the other screen and spend a few hours digging up treasures.

Not everything is about you, bud.

I do think archaeology became a ludicrously over rate grind for the rewards it provides, and also it being left by the wayside and integrated into expansion features means the rewards you “do” get are largely relegated to specific rooms on specific continents that happen to have items in them that other people can’t see.

Is this the return of Archaeology?
