This flies against “unlock flying on day 1” mentality, and I’m aware my opinion isn’t popular (it never is), but…
I liked the way ZM flying was unlocked. I didn’t have to loot every single treasure in the map. I had to do things that required extra exploration, engagement with mobs, a storyline, etc. - but it wasn’t overburdening. I actually liked unlocking flying this way. My only dislike is having to logout and log back in for flying to take effect @_@
P.S. Zereth Mortis looks as awesome in the air as it does on the ground. These are the types of zones we crave. Pump out more of them in 10.0.

im not upset about flying being locked behind quest.
im unsatisfied that questline is time gated.

Just because they made it suck less than thier last few attempts of time gated flying doesn’t mean it was “done right”
There is 0 reason to make players wait…especially not mid x-pack after we already had to unlock it once

I disagree with it “sucking”. If the zone isn’t crap and the objectives aren’t crap, then unlocking flying doesn’t feel like crap. ZM met those IMO.
But I do get your concern/point of view. I just feel like this was a great way to go about things.

I’ve noticed there’s less people making groups so as of right now I’m not killing any more rares than before
Timegates have existed in WoW forever.
And those of us who did a little too much exploration were hit with bugs and some still can’t complete the chapter and open up flying.
I agree. I never minded Pathfinder or the wait.
dont think theres time gate in raid attunement questline in vanilla and tbc
Why did we have to un-lock flying twice in an expansion? Was this necessary after having to also unlock riding in maw? This was a triple whammy and I think insulting to the player base. I will bet this has caused many players to just leave the game completely.

Do you remember the long process to fully unlock Ahn Qiraj? The turn ins over months?
Right, so we should be in favor of a quest line that takes 3-4 days instead of 4 sub 1hr quest chains spaced out over a few weeks?
There’s no good reason to make the playerbase wait, it just slows people down and inconveniences them for a month.
I didn’t bother to play my alts for the duration because it’s a waste of my time to run around like an idiot knowing flying will be unlocked.
I like the core gameplay of these big open zones Blizzard makes like ZM or Mechagon, I don’t understand why they insist on making us move around said zones as slowly as possible. It’s FUN to get from point A to point B faster.
I do not enjoy slowly moving across a zone.
i dont think there"s return next week to find out what happened!
in classic guilds that saved up mats opened the gate on first day.
And now that the quest line has been released, neither will there be in retail.
It peeved me off not because of how it was done, but because flying had to be unlocked yet again. It seems that when the Devs want to “add” content in a easy way they just relock something we’ve already had for at least a patch.

so back then it was more about rpg. I enjoyed reading up the stories. getting attuned for the first time I felt rewarded and excited.
shadowlands questline would be ok too if there weren’t any “return next week to find out what happened!” it ruins my immersion, alot
Would you rather have it be all rep locked, so that if you did everything every day you would get the next portion in a week?
Ok, now you’ve missed a day of grinding every rare in the zone, so now you’re behind on double legendary.
Are you still ok with this?
