Unplayable/unwanted

You just buffed frost to the level of the outlier. Now every spec has to be that good. Now you’ve completely ruined the tuning of the raid and have to start all over on that front. Oops, the new raid tuning throws the spec balance out of whack again because the fight lengths are all different and adds live for longer. Back to the drawing board!

It is 100% impossible to balance every spec on every fight. You would not do any better than Blizzard. If this short conversation is any indication, you’d be far worse.

??? What? Now you think that becuase the kill time is increased by 2 seconds the games screwed???

Yeah lmao it’s just that easy, large percentage buffs have historically worked perfectly for balance.

wat

You’re talking about 30% buffs. You’d throw the raid tuning out the window in an instant.

That’s been WoW from the start and it’s still WoW today (in Retail) and it will always be like this. Fury could be 0.1% less dps than Aff/Unholy and y’all would still whine.

I am 80, I guess the forums are using my classic character copy instead now for whatever reason.

“And then the everyone will still have their own unique playstyle”

I hope that’s on your resumé for your dev application, Sarahbeth!

isten bro, before you click reply on your mouse and start typing. I just want you to put forth actual coherent thoughts before you type the first word that pops in your mind. Fire mages are already doing around 20 percent more dmg than frost, meaning that frost is actually egregious if played in ulduar. So, if u buffed frost mage by 20 percent in pve scenarios only, bringing them in line with fire, literally nothing would change, all that would happen is people could now play frost and it wouldn’t be a dead spec any longer

NOW, I already know when you’re reading this you want to start typing something, but keep reading;

IF, for some reason, frost mages(or anyone else did for the matter) found something to abuse and give them a huge edge over fire(or boss kills in general) when this buff happened, you pull the numbers back a bit to accommodate for over buffing.

Sarahbeth for president, now every spec has more than one competitive spec.

ding ding ding!!

Warrs just HAVE to be on top always or the game is broken!!

Nah, warriors were on top in vanilla, and they were competitive for tbc 5 through tbc, they can stay bottom, stop talking jibberish.

There are so many factors to balancing. A straight % increase is an abysmal fix

How long is the fight? 1m? 3m? 5? This matters because every spec has unique CDs that at given time lengths are stronger than others. So getting them once called multiple times in a fight completely alters it. I’ll do more damage in a 3m30s fight than a 3m fight. Others won’t share that sentiment

Are there adds? How many? How long are they up? How often do they occur? Do they force a total target switch or can they passively be cleaved?

Is there movement? How much? How often? How far?

How do the mechanics affect the player? Do they require movement? Can you dps while they’re occurring? Are you forced out of dps range? Do they force the dps to stop at all? What ramp windows occur between the mechanics?

And thats just looking how a single fight can alter “balance” and I’m sure I’m forgetting things

Then to make the changes you have to evaluate every skill and see how altering that alters everything else that spec is doing within that all those fight perimeters across multiple fights and somehow come out with a perfect balance amongst all the specs.

I’m gonna doubt you can balance any better

Nothing you said matters. Balance would still be fine. Every class in the literal video game has 1-2-3 minute cds, the boss Health will be the determining factor. Me making a frost mage do the same dmg a fire mage does will do nothing, frost mage has 2 cds anyway, icy veins and cold snap.

REGARDLESS, you out here basically just making up reasons for the game to be unbalanced. I’m giving easy simple solutions and you’re there every step of the way talking about why it can’t be done. Every other week they buff and nerf classes to get the class balance that exists in retail. You just talk talk about that tho becuase then some boomer will tell you to go play retail.

Just as nothing you’ve said matters

Sorry bro, but I’m giving solutions and you’re telling me about how basically the game is impossible to balance. You might as well be a paid actor telling me the games doomed just live with it.

Youve given none

yeah buff frost mage 30% so deep freeze crits hodir for 180k lol

Frost mage down 30 percent in overall dmg.

Me:give them a 25 buff.

You: no bro it would put the entire matrix out of whack, can’t be done. There’s nuances

!!!

Just admit you want both your god tier specs to be god tier, and screw the rest of the game.

Garbage. Fixes nothing

I thought you had solutions

Like, you can’t read or your trolling, class does little dmg numbers, buff dmg numbers?? It can’t be made any simpler for you, you can’t read or lack common sense or something. You need to go study or something.

So what! My starfire hits him for 80k every 1 second? Not on a cd??

You’re fix is trash. Doesn’t take into account nuances of different fights and will lead to broken classes and greater imbalance

A stump could balance better than you

Class balance is far better than most people think. The delta is probably in the realm of 10% or less, and mostly because the top players gravitate to the top specs and “meme” specs like BM hunter go outplayed even when they are simmed to be less than a couple hundred dps difference.

Yeah nuances, leave it broken and dogwater spec because nuances. very much logic coming from you.

The chasm is actually 30 percent of a difference according to wowhead, and your mindset with typing meme bm spec is the problem. No spec should be a meme, every spec should be strong. Impossible to code it that way tho, nuances, this RAT was now where on the forums when dks were doing 15k dps on pw in phase one talking about nuances tho.
