Unofficial Sethrak Discussion Thread 🐍

I think the only thing is: if they went horde (no longer would I even really play alliance after that xD) but they would NEED to give the alliance something to draw a crowd towards them as well. Junker surely isn’t going to do it so they’d need to come up with something equally as amazing as Vulpera AND Sethrak for the alliance. Something just a NEW as well.

Yes, the KT humans have a ‘new rig’ but they’re still just humans, so even if they have a new model, they’re nothing really that new in terms of what they ARE.

I hope that’s the case we all can remember how stubborn they can be when warned about something the community will never like.

Yea but I think it was a HUGE red flag for them when they brought them up at the con, RIGHT after the huge cheering from ZT and mediocre cheers for KT…crickets…I think I heard like one or two cheers.

Oh how awkward those poor souls felt when others looked at them…xD

Oh indeed while the art team are just down right astounding at what they do even the concept art of the Kultirans was rather luke warm.

I was excited for the KT ESPECIALLY the druid forms…until I saw balance and the comparison between the two races…

talk about a let down.

Oh yeah and their moonkin form was pretty lackluster trolls got to use the Arakkoa rig to theirs but kul’s just get another Moonkin

Yea, not to mention people arguing that the ZT racial is absolutely broken. In PvP if you’re a paladin, it seems real broken, yea, but otherwise, easily interruptable it seems.

I’d still love to see what may occur with the Sethrak. I don’t care if they’re not released immediately, my sub ends on the 9th and I’m not interested in renewing it until something jaw dropping (like the sneks) comes into play~!

I mean…if the WoW story even started having alliance interact with the Sethrak more, I’d be drawn in…but right now, compared to the in depth story horde is getting…Alliance is rather plain and boring =\

That’s just my opinion though, some people love it! That’s awesome for them~

You know, the Q&A made the chances of Sethrak higher to me.

Ion said they are now seeing the feedback and requests to define the next ARs, and which are the most prevalent requests in the forums for the last few months?

Ogres, san’layn, vulpera, high elves and sethrak.

Three of those are Horde requests. I feel Blizzard will resist to make high elves playable anyway. What’s the Alliance request that is left?

The top Alliance AR ideas I’ve seen with any relevance to the BfA story arc are Sethrak, Junker Gnomes, those deep sea Jinyu things, some kind of Lightborn Undead, & Naga or a sort of Naga/Night Elf hybrid, maybe after we deal with Azshara and N’Zoth.

Then we have the usual suspects that aren’t part of the BfA story; High Elves, Arrakoa, Wildhammer Dwarves, Jinyu.

Junker gnomes, the deep jinyu and lightforged undead are more speculation than request. It’s people looking into the hints and trying to predict what Blizzard is working in.

But in the last interview Ion said that the allied races that were planned before BfA was announced have all been released, and now they are working based on player feedback.

If you search the forum for requests, you won’t find enduring threads for the speculated races. All of them just lost chances, if what Ion said is true. In the other hand, this means sethrak’s chances have gone up. People have been asking for sethrak since Blizzcon 2017.

This also makes vulpera way more likely than ever.

I’m inclined to agree. Besides High Elf (who’s ship has sailed), Sethrak easily has the most fan appeal for joining the Alliance, particularly when you think of possible ARs that are involved with the current story arc.

Don’t count them out.

Blizzard wanted feedback, and it got feedback.

WOD was a missed opportunity, if we talk about new races added to the factions!
Could Ogres be the race that came from draenor to Horde rather than maghar? Perhaps!
I would love to see arakkoas in the alliance!

They all look more like band-aids to the Alliance than something really new and engaging!
Especially for the compensatory aspect they exude!

Sethrak is one of the few things that can save Alliance’s participation in BfA, in my opinion!

Well, remember there WAS one race that was half-ogre/half-orc. I…don’t remember his name but he was a main protag in WoD, his name just eludes me for the moment and I remember seeing that he had a VERY detailed model: removable armor and everything~

I don’t think it was WoD at all xD; but the race I’m talking about is the Mok’nathal and the guy in question was Rexxar
Edit 2: This is what I was talking about with- https://imgur.com/gallery/OCb75AA

If they’re looking to the forums and feedback from the community, then by far the biggest request for Alliance is and has been Sethrak. If this is definitely the case, then they’re probably taking so long with them to find a way to tie them directly into the story with the Alliance to make them prevalent.

If this expansion is turning towards Old Gods and the next Expac is Old God related, the Sethrak have more knowledge than most anyone else that’s already on the alliance.

Not to mention, let’s not forget that their models are DRASTICALLY different compared to where they were in the early stages of beta. As were the Vulpera, which both underwent major changes and a complete overhaul to make them more ‘player ready.’ I think, we don’t see ‘female’ sethrak in the world right now because that’d make it obvious then and wouldn’t be as much of a surprise…either that or they’ve been really trying to figure out HOW to make the females more easily distinguishable from their male counterparts.

I really think that they haven’t said much because if they say that the Sethrak are going to be interacting DURING the Nazjatar area this early, it’d mean the alliance needs to rely on them for something or another that will give them the upper edge. To me, this would be their knowledge and expertise in how they had kept Mythrax locked away for so long.

I think, we should be talking about what classes we think would be best fitting them as an AR. Which, let’s face it, Vulpera and Sethrak are more like this expansion’s “NEW” race, since it is so heavily augmented away from any other current races and is not an off branch race like the other ARs have been.

I have my own list to share if any are interested, even though I posted it months ago, I don’t mind sharing it once more

Yep! Mok’nathal also has a lot of appeal among ogres fans.
The idea of half orcs is very interesting as an allied race and is well quoted among ogres supporters!

I posted a link that I had seen that detailed the change in Rexxar’s model that makes me think they’re a possible option for the horde AR that would fit the ‘ogre’

Especially since Alliance wanted Naga for so long but our solution for that is Sethrak, then Ogres would make sense with the Mok’nathal as their counter part if this were the case.

I hope we don’t get anymore elf races period! We have 4 of them with 2 being a subspecies of another we don’t need anymore elves or subspecies but new races.

That’s Blizzard’s problem for introducing the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th elf race before the 1st.

LFU looks to be rightfully shot down every time it’s brought up. I personally hope they never get added. To me San’layn would be more appropriate and wanted for the undead AR.

I hope Alliance get an asked for race like Sethrak myself. Arakkoa would be neat too.

Hey everyone! I took a bit of a long break from WoW when I ended up with Pneumonia, it really sucked but I’m good now. I hope everyone’s still praying for those sneks as I am. c:
