Unofficial Sethrak Discussion Thread 🐍

I played EverQuest and DC Universe. Dark Elf and Iksar were my go to’s, then in DC Universe I played the villains. Just more fun to play. Tho in the former you could play with good aligned players as well.

I was always partial to my Villains in CoH/CoV.

My favorite game was when they added in the ability to switch a hero or villain to the other side. I took one of the Hero prestige classes to the Villain side.

Loved it so much.

This is kind of what I’m hoping they do eventually in WoW. With how many motivations seem so mixed and how the races seem steadily muddier, I wouldn’t be surprised if some expansion down the line they offer the ability to switch. Perhaps as a choice midway through leveling or when you hit max level or something.

With the way this book is going, I honestly have no idea what is going to happen. xDD

There is LOTS of tension.

Also, playable Sethrak please!

And wish me luck. I got sent home from work due to COVID exposure. Here’s hoping I did not catch it. I test later this week. :pensive:

I’ll get on Discord tomorrow. What happened today kind of through me and my routine for a loop.

Spent most of my time finishing up Shadows Rising.

Though from my reading. I could easily see the Zandalari and Horde reaching out to The Devoted.

It seems they could use more allies.

A: I’ll help you rally your people as one, if you help us sort of deal.

The draft is rougher than I thought it’d be, definitely room for expansion and improvement.

I have it mostly done though, finishing it tonight or tomorrow morning and you can edit as you wish. Probably in the morning because I’m pretty tied up with homework tonight.

Just when I thought the goblin dance couldn’t get scandalous enough. No I am lying. I always knew it was this scandalous  Eh. this is the Sethrak thread so I suppose you probably wanted a female sethrak dancing gif. Alas. I got nothing like that right now.

Still rooting for these guys. Here’s hoping they get the late draenor orc treatment.

I think Sethrak fit with the horde more. But I do agree they would be an interesting addition to the alliance. My own horde biases wants them on horde because.

  1. It would be like a uniting Zandalar moment for the horde.
  2. Sethraliss seems like a powerful loa and she should join the others in Zandalar with shrines to her.
  3. The snakes are very desert like so they would fit really well in the barrens as guarding forces and Orgrimmar. And give Org more defense with there underground structures.
  4. They are a loa based race and have that natural horde tenacity.
  5. I just love there lie animation O.o and I been wanting a serpentine races.
  6. They would look better in horder armor.
  7. They can have frenemy quests with the Vulpera.

Although I would like to see you make a counterculture weirdo explanation for them joining the alliance and giving them more diversity. I feel they would be strangers in the alliance but that can be a good kind of strange.

I agree with all of these.

I would add that Devoted are very fitting a Thrall’s Horde type of Horde which is what Blizzard seems to be moving us back to (thank god).

In Shadows Rising, Talanji expresses desire to unite all of Zandalar. So that would include Vol’dun. With the events within the book and BfA there is need to help the Zandalari people.

Maybe Talanji could ask the Horde to reach out to The Sethrak, asking them for help in this endeavor.

They counter that their own people are split and need help. So if you help us, we’ll help you sort of deal.

I was actually sorta surprised that the Sethrak were not asked for help IN the book.

I know. When we recruited the Zandalari they mentioned and thanked their friends. Vulpera were mentioned but Sethrak weren’t : / The faithful sethrak should be considered friends to the horde too : /. Gonk considered both the vulpera and tortollans friends though, even Gral is there.

I would very much like tortollans and Sethrak go horde though.

I know in Ardenweald we will be seeing Loa, possibly coming back. So there may be a point where talalanji wants to unite the loa and get Sethraliss and Gral more into there culture. Sethraliss being lightning based and life based would have advantages, and Gral would help protect there seas and have stuff like Kelfin want to join the horde (thus more customization for goblins).

I am excited to see what’s in store after the first patch of Shadowlands as we are promised more customization throughout the expansion. I even wonder if they will do any allied races or just added customization of similar races in Shadowlands. (Such as giving dark iron or dwarves frost dwarf customization).

It seems the alliance doesn’t have much obvious allied races to look forward to besides stuff like Dryads, mechagnomes (the actual robots), frost dwarves, high elves. So stuff like Sethrak may still be on the table for alliance if the alliance is vocal enough. But I would really like Sethraliss and most loa on the side of the horde.

Gral does also side with the Ankoan though, so maybe the loa would be mostly horde sided like how Elune seems more sided to the night elves then the nightborne who still have some few priests that worship her or the tauren that also worship her but (elune beefed up night elves to nuke horde
)

Based on some stuff I dug up in interviews with Blizzard, they are looking for this sort of thing actually.

This is the stuff I found. Took me a moment to dig it back up.

Also, how have you been? I been meaning to ask that since I know you’re technically a regular of this thread. :3

:snake: :crossed_fingers:

Also. Still redoing Voldun quests on Horde side and took note on the detailed text for 4 relics the Horde champion is asked to acquire for Vorrik.

Rebirth Creed: An extremely detailed explanation of an ancient Sethrak belief that Loa can be reborn.

Skull of the First Skycaller: Remarkably well preserved, but it otherwise looks like any other Sethrak skull.

Sethraliss Sight Stone: Inside the globe, shadowy figures pass through tendrils of magic before quickly dissipating.

Blood of the Fallen Loa: Claimed to be blood collected from the battle of Sethraliss and Mythrax long ago.

Just renewed my sub in preparation for the prepatch, and I’m back here on the forums to show my support for playable Sethrak!

Gimme sneks! :snake:

Personally, at this point in my life, I just want sethrak to be a playable race. I have 3 vulperas and 1 tauren in the horde.
It won’t be a sacrifice at all.

If sethraks are from the horde, it will be fine with me and many people who have shown interest in the same topic.

The only thing that worries me, is that “the universal symmetry law of Warcraft” determines that the alliance receives something and after BfA, I already anticipate the new joke that the alliance can receive.
Maybe fel gnomes? Another blood elf? Murlocs?
Well, it certainly won’t be something that changes anything in the alliance. :disappointed:

Wanted to mention that Vorrik is very adamant about reuniting his people. He put heavy emphasis on what he said to Korthek.

“I WILL reunite my people”.

I want this to be seen through.

I can definitely agree with all those points above for Sethrak being part of the Horde. And honestly, if they were Horde, I’d still play the heck out of them. Just really want to see them playable!!!
