Also, you just never know. You could be right. But maybe it got āscrappedā or pushed back again cause the models still need some more work and they donāt want to stir us up like what happened with the Vulpera datamining.
Iāve said previously in the thread that Sethrak would take at least the same amount of time to be ready as Vulpera if not more.
This stuff takes time.
I peaked into that discord once. Stayed for a small while and what you said couldnāt be more spot on. Also you canāt like anything or say anything positive about the horde playerbase that goes against the mob mentality. Very toxic environment.

True. They banned me for saying a word thatās constantly said around the discord. They have all these rules they make up on the spot if youāre a Horde player.
I kid you not, someone said the word I used a few seconds after I got silenced (was only able to talk in the venting channel). He can intk the venting channel and said āI say that word all the time and never got punished for it(he mains Alliance).ā So then I say āmod favouritism.ā And āmaybe he plays a DH.ā Same mod told me to f*** off and banned me moments later.

I probably wont be updating this thread because my heart is not in it anymore. Iām really sad about sethrak. They could have been something so amazing for the allianceā¦ be alas only the horde seems to get new races with actual love and care put into them and the alliance are given torso amputees that look like theyāre wearing diapersā¦ I dunno. Definitely disappointing. Why the sethrak have some unique player animations I guess I will never know. But I dont think they will be playable at this point.
Will be cool to level up a vulpera on the side but for me it always going to feel very bitter sweet knowing what a cool pairing setheak+vulpera could have been. What a great story it could have developed into.

Reading this made my heart hurt. But I understand. Itās been hard to keep up hope and sometimes downright depressing waiting to maybe hear something about Sethrak. Sethrak mean a lot to me.
But we can still hope and Iām not giving up yet.

Blizzard just released an 8.3 interview going on and on and on about how they listened to player feedback for the dev process for BFAās allied races. Literally to the point of just lying about seeing love and hype for diaper amputee gnomes. Itās sickening not only how little they care about us but how theyāre willing to try and gaslight us about it.

Do I have to post the sethrak vs mechagnome discord member count again? And itās REALLY funny to go look at the front page of /r/WoW and see literally no mecha hype posts in sight but a cavalcade of Vulpera joy. Alliance players are literally posting jealously en masse on Vulpera threads about how depressed they are by mechas and Blizzard has the gal to not only pretend sethrak hype doesnāt exist but ignore it completely.

While I havenāt given up yet, Iāll admit that yeah Iām really sad we havenāt seen Sethrak added yet. Not even an announcement for or against them.
I donāt generally get really excited about things or have any concrete desires or ādemandsā for Blizzard to implement into WoW. But Iām hella passionate about snakes and Sethrak are the first and only thing Iāve been truly hyped for.
Itās disappointing we havenāt see them yet but Iām keeping my fingers crossed. And I donāt know how the Sethrak hype could be ignored. Itās about as prominent as the Vulpera one.

Its clearly on par with them. Even beats out the High Elf crowd in most polls.
I would love to see the Sethrak playable, and I think blizzard is making a mistake not doing an 8.3.5. They really need soemthing to tie the expansion together and make it end on a high note. Lacklusterly killing NāZoth after years of building him up seemsā¦ underwhelming. Weāll see though. Maybe 8.3 will be more wild than it appeared on the PTRā¦ and MAYBE Blizzard will reconsider not adding a last AR to this expac as we get further into the year.

Iām really hoping weāll see them tie into Shadowlands somehow. Itās definitely plausible. Iāve made a couple suggestions to continue Sethralissā story/have her participate in SL via in game suggestion.
It would be nice to learn about another Loa in addition to Bwonsamdi.
And well snakes symbolize transformation and rebirth. It appears Sethraliss does as well. Sheās a giant snake god after all.
Perhaps if others add suggestions as well?
They and their Loa fit well into the themes of Shadowlands.

I just donāt think an 8.3.5 is possible. Thereās no way Blizzardās content pipeline works in such a way that they could suddenly whip one up with no planningā¦ The best we can hope for is a very big prepatch. Even then I get the feeling Blizzard is trying to move on from BFA asap; why else do so little to actually conclude the war? A 45 second conversation for each faction is so clearly not enough.
I donāt want to be a downer but remember how much outcry there was about Darkshore and how little changed? I just canāt muster any faith after how BFA was handled. Blizzard really seems to have decided that only a few little bits of the game are getting all of their attention and refuse to spread any of it beyond them.
Iāll give them this. I like the zone and I like the lore and characters. But I wonāt play a Mechagnome.
And same can be said of Sethrak. People like their lore, not just their aesthetic.

What really mystifies me is that the AR system was clearly created to give players the Magāhar theyāve been begging for for a decade-- I remember hearing conversations on Twitter from devs fantasizing about making a subrace system for Magāhar quite clearly. It was intended to give players their hopes and dreams. And now itās being used toā¦ What? Shovel ----? WHY?
Clearly a lot of effort went into the Vulpera for the Horde. Nearly the same base BFA content dev process went into Sethrak. Players have been begging to the high heavens about wanting both since the beta. And clearly the Sethrak were the obvious choice to play off of the Vulpera-- where else would they go? When else would they ever be relevant again? But no. We get Gnomier Gnomes. Why? Why just throw all the dev effort and player love into the trash? Why were Sethrak given HOA animations and then just thrown away? Why was Umbircās 8.1.5 dialogue changed to talk more about collaborating with the sethrak?
Why start the development process into an expansion where ARs are a system, design something as good as the Sethrak, and then use them for nothing? They could have built more reasons for them to join the Alliance as a companion to the Vulpera if they were really set on Vulpera for the Horde over them, but for some reason they just didnāt.
Itās just not even cost efficient so we canāt even blame the bad ARs on money grubbing. They created the entirety of Mechagnomes when they didnāt even have to.
I just canāt figure out whatās going on at Blizzard to create this insane decision making. Do they just hate the Alliance so much that itās better to them to just throw Sethrak away rather than let the Alliance have them? Does Bobby Kotik have Ophidiophobia? Is there literally an internal fight going on between devs on whether or not to make sethrak a race? Because thatās what it looks like.

The thing thatās really crazy is that we know that even the Horde canāt get Sethrak unless Blizzard shells out to give the Alliance another AR, and I just canāt fathom what it could possibly be. They clearly donāt have any interest in doing so. So I just canāt imagine any window the Sethrak would have to enter the game at all. I have to wonder if this is why they donāt have any ARs planned either for the rest of BFA or for the launch of Shadowlands.
