I think its unlikely for the furbolg to have a reputation at the beginning of DF however I could see them get one later on.
Honestly though I don’t have the highest hopes right now. The model update for them is a long time coming and I love it but its definitely not for a player model so I don’t think they’re currently being considered for a playable race. That said I’m still gonna keep on asking for it. With luck Blizzard will one day add the furbolg to the Alliance. They’d be one of the easiest to justify joining and I think a lot of people would enjoy playing the bear folk.
Far as those major reputations I take that to mean those are the ones that will have dedicated Renown type setups for them. It may not be inclusive to the entirety of reputations we’ll see in DF, but those will reward cosmetics items and rewards as you gain more renown with them.
A brand new month means some brand new in-game suggestions of races we want to see playable!
So each month, I send in in-game suggestions for each race I want to see playable along with their respective megathreads. While it is far from a guarantee of seeing our dreams come true, I do think every little bit helps, and doing it monthly is reasonable.
If you’re interested in doing the same for races you want to see playable, I made a little guide on how to do so in-game here:
Hopefully, our feedback will be considered with an open mind. Especially for something neat and overdue like Furbolgs!
Been awhile since I’ve had anything to post for furbolg sadly. Hopefully Blizzard will see that there is some interest in this race and how easy they’d work as an AR for the Alliance.
In the meantime while we wait though…
Cookies!
Been thinking a bit about Furbolg food, and aside from standard meat and such I’d bet they have plenty of honey based treats. Especially since some furbolg seem to use glowing beehives as light sources.
I think their model is still a bit off from being playable but this new model is a major step up from the old ones.
Both old models are kinda goofy and were not nearly up to the standard of the games current graphics so its really nice to see.
I hope that in the future they’ll add a female furbolg model and update them to be as good as playable characters. I can’t wait to have a furbolg one day!
Yes they could add female furbolg. I don’t know if they look like male furbolg because of the old model using the same model for the both gender (Ferli and Princess Stillpine) or if there is a difference between them.
Currently and to date there hasn’t been a difference, but to my knowledge its never been stated in canon if there are any differences or not.
Blizzard has mostly used the furbolg as mooks for the majority of WoWs life and much like with Ogres no female model has been produced. This doesn’t mean their females are not different just that Blizz didn’t use the resources to make them.
Its also possible that the furbolg have very little sexual dimorphism and thus they do look very close to one another.
I hope that when they become playable though the furbolg get a body 2 option and that that option becomes spread through the older populations to better represent what would be expected.
Finally got a beta invite so I’ve been looking around to see if the models were updated in the old world for the furbolg and so far I’ve been to Azuremyst Isle to check in with the Stillpine.
Sadly they’ve not been updated. Going to check a few more tribes in Kalimdor then see if anything changed with Northrend and Val’sharah areas. I suspect not… but heres hoping they’ll be updated to match later to the new models.
Looked around and it seems Blizzard has not updated any of the furbolg unfortunately.
Maybe they just haven’t done so on the beta yet but will later but it looks like they won’t update them anywhere but on the Dragon Isles.
Sad to see.
Still going to keep up this thread as time goes on. Many more tribes to outline and post about here and I never got around to posting my general concept for how I think they could be added.
Another new month, another round of in-game race request suggestions! Hopefully, it won’t be too much to bear.
At the beginning of each month, I usually send in-game feedback for each of the races I want to see and refer to their megathreads on here for more information. I figure it can only help to gain some interest in our requests of what we’d like to see, though no guarantees it’ll lead to that ever becoming a reality.
If you’re interested in doing something similar, I made a guide in the following post that explains how to do it in steps:
Seeing as we’ll be meeting with some Furbolgs in Dragonflight, it’s likely a good time to bring up some support for playable Alliance Furbolgs while it is fresh on people’s minds. Hopefully, we’ll see them on the Alliance side of that character creation screen someday!
Been a bit since I posted and thought I’d post something about furbolg diets.
Bears eat a wide variety of things from plant matter to meat. Most famous for their general enjoyment of beehive honey and salmon in many places.
Found a nice little video that talks about their general diets. (Of the brown bear anyways)
I like to imagine that the furbolg too would have a varied diet like this. In many of the places they live fishing wouldn’t be hard nor would finding berries, elk and other types of common bear foods.
Given that hunters are a major focus in their society I also have no doubts that furbolg spend some time getting their food and bringing it back to their dens.
I’d love to see furbolg cuisine, simplistic as it might be, to be laden with salmon, berries, meats and honeycomb. I can imagine some entertaining cooking recipes from a furbolg faction as a result.
Thanks to Bagzak I noticed this was coming out soon finally!
Some previews shown here.
Hoping it will have a blurb or two about the furbolg of the Grizzly Hills. In fact I’m certain it will as there is no real good way to talk about the Grizzly Hills without mentioning the furbolg, their city or their wild gods… They’re beary important there after all.
Heres hoping for some nice details and lore for the furbolg!
A new month and I can bearly contain myself with a new round of in-game race request suggestions!
At the beginning of each month, I usually send in-game feedback for each of the races I want to see and refer to their megathreads on here for more information. I figure it can only help to gain some interest in our requests of what we’d like to see, though no guarantees it’ll lead to that ever becoming a reality.
If you’re interested in doing something similar for your wanted playable races, I made a guide in the following post that explains how to do it in steps:
Hopefully our requests will be considered, as Furbolgs would offer much needed variety to the Alliance. We’ll keep at it in the meantime!
Dragonflight is not so far off now and I just wanted to make a bit of a post to update what I intend to do here.
First I’m not going anyplace, and intend to continue this thread through DF and probably beyond to continue to ask blizzard to give the Alliance the furbolg race as an AR (or core race I’m not picky.) I do think that they would be rather liked by the Alliance in general and would make sensible and strong allies for them.
Second, I will be making some posts about the tribes we encounter within Dragonflight once I’ve had some time to experience their stories and see what the full story is there.
I’ll also probably continue to explore the other remaining tribes across Azeroth because I think we’ve still got a fair few left.
Further I’ll update concepts for how I think the Furbolg would be able to join, the context for such joining, and how their factions would be setup.
Also probably still posting occasional videos and talking about how their societies seem to and may work.
I love the furbolg and while their new model isn’t exactly player ready (or being pushed to older zones sadly.) I do think its a massive jump and a good start point for moving towards a player character models look.
Very excited to see what awaits us in Dragonflight and I hope everyone else is as well!
It looks like the Winterpelt Furbolg reputation faction that was datamined earlier this summer is in the beta … with some additional mystery! (Twitter source of image) The faction blurb reads: “The Winterpelt Furbolg speak a language no one seems to understand. Perhaps more will be revealed in the future.” Maybe the reputation is gained through a storyline that unfolds over the course of one or more patches? I am curious to learn more about these furbolg and gain their trust.
