Unintended consequences

A long time ago… in a forum far, far away…

I met this evil healer — Darth Mistwidget:

He boasted about tormenting innocent players:

I killed an undergeared and not well played hunter on my healer today when I went to go check out mines in BfG.

I felt bad about it. I mean, I know it’s part of the game, but I have a hard time NOT imagining the real-life person behind the keyboard. And I guess when the other person is poorly geared and not good at PvP, I feel like I’m a high- schooler picking on a second-grader. Maybe they are older and have poor reflexes, or play with one arm or something, lol, I don’t know.

I even tried playing on PvP servers for a bit. I remember I was on a Horde druid and some badly wounded flagged gnome rogue came running out of Stonetalon and I started chasing him. All he wanted to do was get away and I kept chasing him. I gave up and let him be, and kinda stopped playing on a PvP server. I mean, the world fights were fun, but it’s just not in me to gank.

I guess that’s why I enjoy healing.

Ah well, I’ll be interested in the reactions. I am guessing I will get a lot of flak for being a softie, but I just wanted to get that off my chest.

And sorry Ms. Orc Hunter, it was nothing personal

Someone else responded to this evil healer’s taunts:

I know that hunter. Felipe is his name. He’s a 6 year old orphan that I see during my volunteer hours.

I saw him last night. His eyes were red from crying. He told me that ever since he was diagnosed with a serious illness, the only thing that brought him joy was playing his hunter in WoW, doing BGs with his guild.

Felipe wasn’t very good. His arthritis made it difficult for him to do much more than auto attack. He tried really hard, but last night his guild told him that if he didn’t step things up he would be removed. They told him to hold the mines or else that would be it.

So he did. Poor little Felipe sat at mines, praying that just this once, no one would come attack.

Then a monk showed up.

Felipe tried to type for help, but his shaky arthritic hands couldn’t manage to type it out fast enough. The mistweaver mercilessly cut him down. The guild mocked the poor boy, telling him he’s a failure for dying to a healer.

I assured Felipe that he’s still a good hunter. But when he looked at me with his one good eye and asked me why a healer would kill him like that, I didn’t know what to say.

The last words he uttered was, “why would a healer want to kill me?”

I hope you’re happy. You heartless Sith Lord.

After I saw all that had happened, I swore a holy vow as a holy cow that Darth Mistwidget would be brought to justice:

Great Tyrael’s light!

Unfortunately, premade communities decided to side with this evil healer and let him continue his evil ways. (They shelter other evildoers too.)

Thus, the holy crusade against premade raids began.
