Unintended Bear and Cat Forms (Part 1)

I should not have been able to beat the Mage Tower on specs and classes I knew next to nothing about and were bad at, but I did because I outgeared them. That alone should immediately remove any inclination any idea these are prestigious items.

They were a joke and the only thing removing the fact that people could earn them was just time. Time and place.

It’s such a weird mindset to have.
“I have this cool thing and I don’t think anybody else should be able to earn it.”

I’ve got plenty of FOMO rewards you can’t get anymore from WoW, DbD, LoL, and PoT – and I do not at all believe that any of it should be locked away forever.

Evergreen content that is challenging and fun > permanent FOMO from something that used to be fun.

I would not at all be upset if people were able to get the various PvP sets, illusions, KSM mounts, AOTC mounts, etc again. Just make them earnable from something that is fun and challenging, not something meaningless like the Trading Post.

There is so, so much value in having evergreen challenging content and it pains me that WoW fumbles in this area so badly.

We’re already faced with natural FOMO in the real world, so why does our outlet for escape also have to be constantly plagued by it too when in reality it’s all artificially FOMO anyways?

Fun and challenging evergreen content and rewards will always be better and more fun than FOMO flavor of the month.

Twenty year subscriber who has the Bear skins from Legion but not sparkle kitty.

Blizz you’ve acknowledged it’s a bug. Roll with it and let folks keep them as it’s been too many years. No policy change involved. No wasting time & resources away from Midnight.

Midnight, which should be THE focus for the team.

Incidentally, I haven’t bought Midnight and my decision depends on how customers are treated. Do the prudent thing and let the druids enjoy themselves.

That’s honestly kind of on Blizz, they could’ve easily tuned the item level like they did for challenge modes back in MoP, and the “rage” could’ve been avoided or calmed down. I wasn’t playing that much during Antorus so I wouldn’t know, I’m only talking from my experience.

Would I like them to be brought back? Yeah, of course, for my 4 toons that I play constantly, do I want them just for logging in? No. Purchasable doesn’t seem that bad of an idea, but the fights themselves really tested your class’ knowledge, so I’d like the opportunity to earn them the original way.

Also, I know plenty of people who had other friends pilot their account just to earn them, which is against ToS yet nothing was done about it.

I understand the value of unique items. And I think the Mage Tower stuff should have stayed locked up and should stay locked up, outside of certain points.

This is one of those points it shouldn’t. Remix is the perfect time to reintroduce those appearances. Having them be rare is fine but saying they can never come back ever? That’s completely asinine. You made the Tusks of Mannoroth buyable in MOP remix. You brought back the AOTC mount. You don’t care about what’s rare here. You’re just willing to die on a Hill Blizzard, you’re dying on a hill that I don’t understand why for, why this one.

Please we all know you’re not going anywhere, I guarantee you we will see you in midnight.

He might be John Cena, you don’t know.

John wouldn’t be acting like a child you see throwing a tantrum and making a scene when you walk past the toy isle in a store because mommy and daddy wouldn’t buy them the toy they wanted.

I can agree that, at least for certain things, having timed exclusivity makes sense. However, I don’t think that timed exclusivity should be longer than a year or two.

Anything longer is just excessive imo. Regardless though, I completely agree that Remix would’ve been a perfect time to bring them back.

Them being so adamant about the Mage Tower double standard kind of implies to me that there’s at least a couple devs who cling to these things as if they’re somehow more prestigious than the Trial of Valor deathless sets. It’s all ego.

Clearly you do not remember the Doctor of Thuganomics.

I think it should on the grounds it’s good to bring back other timed things in it’s place, and you have a rotating selection

I haven’t seen anyone asking for more than the ability to earn them either with the Mage Tower challenge returning in Remix (like the Deathless Mythic Chosen Dead mog and Spellwing are) or as purchasable for Bronze with the Challenges in giving different tint colors if you do the Challenges.

But right now they are using the bogus argument of “its exclusive limited time” while letting us get other exclusive limited time rewards ie the Spellwing and Chosen Dead Deathless mog

Exactly my point.

I beat my last few ones with the Stomach flu and almost beat my last few ones before I had to go to the ER. That’s not a brag, that’s just how it was, and I’m not mad I didn’t finish them, but it’s to emphasize these are how not difficult they were.

My stomach was a mess and I could still focus enough with OP gear to beat them

If Remixes were on a rotating selection then I’d 100% agree with you completely. It would be a very meaningful way of bringing them back and at least we could finally tell new players that they’ll eventually get their chance again.

A rotating schedule would imply we’ll get Doodoolands Remix at some point and I’m still trying to recover from the mental damage of the oncoming Timewalking version of that trashfire.

We’re getting the Timewalking for it, make your peace with it now

It was absolutely uncool to refuse to bring back MT appearances for Lemix, as that is what a good chunk of people wanted out of replaying Legion. It’s the only thing I wanted out of Lemix myself. But then it’s extra cruel that players who suddenly saw these beautiful druid forms in the barber are getting them taken away again. No one is against even having to earn them, just bring them back as MT, or purchasable with bronze. Something. Do you know how much joy I had for an hour last night running around Dornogal sparkling it up with green shimmery goodness? Why are you against players being able to feel like that all the time?

Imagine playing the game for the first time being excited to try the new timerunning event to level your first alts, seeing you could get this AWESOME new form on your druid, and YOU LOVE IT!! -Only then having it taken away from you… And then finding out you can’t even unlock it no matter how hard you try. I’d probably quit tbh. That’s why the Mage Tower appearances should make a return. On top of the AOTC mounts making a return, the challenge still exists and can be completed to this day as they were designed in Legion 10 years ago. Why die on this hill? There’s obviously an outcry to have it back. It’d be such a win for the community that loves this game to strive to have the cool EVERGREEN challenge rewards that don’t go away.

Maaaaybe? It’s hard to say, because they did skip over WoD.
I don’t think a Remix for SL would necessarily be a bad idea – but they’d need to restructure a lot of things so it’s not incredibly irritating to deal with.

Remix BfA and WoD could be a lot of fun imo. WoD Remix would be a chance to bring back mounts that were in the game files but never saw the light of day, i.e. the red and black Kor’kron Proto-Drake.
