You have a really bizarre notion of thinking you get to dictate was consistency is. You and I have both established Legion was an exception and not a rule.
Yes it is…
Again, this is a personal opinion of yours. You’re entitled to it, but Blizzard doesn’t share it. It’s not even universal on these forums.
Okay. And?
Why wouldn’t they? They did it when it was available. The only criteria entitling someone to the form is that they completed it, regardless of whether it was with overwhelming force or by the skin of their teeth. Is someone more entitled to it because they did it in 9 minutes rather than 9?
The fact you seem to be unable to accept is that the people who have the forms and the mogs met the necessary criteria to have them. The people who don’t have them did not. You may not like the criteria set, which is fine, but those are the criteria.
There’s no contradiction in what I said. You’re trying to force one that isn’t there because you can’t reconcile your personal opinion with what I said.
I actually got it, and you couldn’t possibly be farther from it. You seem to be struggling so I’ll repeat it again: offering unique rewards to incentivize doing something while it’s current is healthy design. Particularly in a game where so many cosmetics are evergreen.
They haven’t and they won’t. They set the criteria and the people who have them met those criteria, as I’ve already stated. Speaking of false equivalency, how is this even remotely comparable to a bug giving someone something they don’t deserve and then fixing the bug? Or are you instead trying to insinuate this is comparable to someone not having something they don’t meet the criteria to have? This is a bizarre appeal to emotion that doesn’t hit the way you must think it does.
Yet another personal opinion masquerading as objective fact.
Ah, so the truth comes out. Everybody gets access to everything because they pay for access to the server, regardless of when, why, or the state of the game at any given time.
And you’re the arbiter of what is and isn’t arbitrary? I’m noticing a theme here.
When you make your own MMO you can make the perfect system and show Blizzard how it’s done. Until then perhaps try not obsessing over little things, like the MT skins you can’t get anymore. It’ll be better for your mental and you’ll be a happier person for it.
Are you seriously trying to argue that there haven’t been people complaining just as much that they can’t get the other MT appearances over the years? This is a moot point.
And? This is something special to a unique skin for doing a unique challenge at a unique point in time. What about it?
I’m not missing it, I just don’t think it’s relevant. But say I did- advocate for other more vivid forms. I’ve mentioned several times now I don’t have an issue with recolors. But nobody here is asking for those. They’re obsessing over the specific Legion ones.
Druids can too. Acting like there haven’t been any new forms since Legion is disingenuous.
This only reinforces the idea that you wouldn’t have the form even if it was available now because you don’t care about the spec as a spec and wouldn’t be able to complete challenge. Bummer dude.
It is relevant, it just goes against what you’re saying so you don’t want it added to the discussion.
Regarding your last comment, that’s not indicative of capability. There is nothing to motivate me to play that spec at the moment - because it is just a sad spec. You’re reaching here.
My points still stand.
Also, remember that I’m not the only player in existence to feel this way. Other people would be more interested in feral if they had comparably vivid or quality forms.
Ideally I would prefer the entire magetower to return for all classes, but yes I would be quite happy with a new coloration of the sparkle cat. It was surprising they brought back the limited mage tower and added fel bear but did nothing for feral.
Oh wack, I didn’t know these forums didn’t let users view the prior/deleted versions of original comments. I guess it’s only your own comments/posts that the orange pencil button works for. I feel like that should change
what about feral is sad? I am playing feral druid since 2007 and it’s been peak during wotlk in my opinion but right now it’s so incredibly easy and fun to play I dont see how its somehow “sad” especially with choices like convoke and aoe bleeds ?
A horse is something you ride. The bear is something you become.
That KSM mount or unique title, you pull it out once in a while to show off. But your form is what you and other players see every time you swing your claws. Identity matters and the form you wear 90% of the time objectively shapes your in game identity.
Firstly, an exception to a rule is by definition an inconsistency, consistency would mean no exceptions.
And no, once again it is not irrelevant, a skill/challenge based reward should be given on completion of said challenge, by removing the access to the challenge its no longer a matter of difficulty its a matter of whether or not someone was there.
The Mage Tower appearances are actually still rewarded in retail to this day even if you never stepped for in the mage tower while it was current as long as you havent abandoned the quest.
And no, Blizzard doesnt always share that opinion either hence why Ive mentioned inconsistency several times and example of this is the Chosen Dead appearances and the AOTC mount.
offering unique rewards to incentivize doing something while it’s current is healthy design. Particularly in a game where so many cosmetics are evergreen.
What youre describing here are FOMO-driven game mechanics and no, theyre not considered healthy at all as they dont respect the players time and feel punitive to players that are unable to play.
While the thought has crossed my mind many times I don’t need to develop my own MMO to show Blizzard how its done because there are already many games doing this succesfully already.
Anyway, it feels a bit futile discussing this with someone who relies on circular reasoning and seems to misunderstand basic concepts like consistency, false equivalencies, and double standards. I’ll leave it here with an agree to disagree
Not sure what I did, but you’re welcome I suppose.
They’re identical except for color and shoulders.
They’re how a druid player represents themselves aethetically since they lose access to transmog.
Portable barbershop toy/mount when?
Sounds like me. Though I probably do this less than I used to because more of my gametime is spent doing content than goofing around but I do sometimes find moments to goof around still.
The argument of something being “childish” has never sat right with me. But I think it’s because I dislike how we as a society seem to demonize and ridicule childhood. It oft reminds me of one of my favorite quotes.
“Critics who treat ‘adult’ as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.”
It would be nice if cat form and bear form god a modular form like moonkin form.
Yet here you go again, accusing people of crying without evidence.
As if crying and having emotions is a bad thing anyways.
You changed your transmog. I didn’t realize human males had fascial hair option like that in game.
I think it’ll be okay if it’s deflated after 10 years. They’ll still have their achievement with the date.
And that’s a problem. It’s not a good thing that blizzard ignores common feedback or takes an age to react to it. They’re stubborn and it HAS hurt them in the past and WILL hurt them int he future. It really feels like they never learn.
If their form wasn’t just a boring CD I’d be more inclined… gods I miss how it worked on locks in mop.
Iirc it was originally intended to have more customisation options but they abandoned that for some reason and never went back to it.
If they made it more of a stance or permanet form I’d love if it could wear transmog and have more customisation options.
But all others CAN be collected. Even the mythic dungeon one.
That phrase is about beggars who beg for food getting a food they don’t like.
The difference here is we’re paying the subscription and buying the expansions and some of us buy other store items.
This is closer to “the customer is always right” which to be fair doesn’t mean what most people think it means but the point is I’m a paying customer asking for something to be returning and or something new.
A paying customer isn’t a bugbear.
Really which is was not fel. Same look but make it more emerald druid-y and I would’ve liked it. But I never bothered getting it because the fel tint turns me off.
Druids with the cool forms, and druids without them. It IS felt in game.
Which no longer applies 10 years later.
Things like glad mounts and KSM happen every single season.
If druids got new forms every single season this would be considerably less of an issue.
It’s impossible to know how many of the sub decline is caused by fomo but I’d hazard a guess more than 0.
Or they’re genshin impact which gets away with it partially because it’s insanely fast content patches that is faster than any other game I know. While the game is profitable it’s also one of the most expansive to make games on the market right now. Rivaling MMOs. Because they have a new patch every 6 weeks on the dot (with like 1 or 2 exceptions during covid). Every 1.5 months. No content droughts. So it’s hard to get bogged down by missing out on fomo when there is ALWAYS a fomo thing going on to focus on. That is’t the case in wow because wow cannot sustain such a rapid patch candance.
Genshin also has free “expansions” every year. Where a new region and major new mechanic is launched. Of course genshin pays for this insanely rapid patchcycle and development with one of the worst forms of monetization ever developed: Gacha. But you can tell they put their money back into their product which is more than can be said for countless games out there.
Genshin is far from perfect but it can get away with things other games cannot.
To get away with fomo it needs to be consistent which is why there is a lot less complaints about glad mounts/ksm mounts. Versus CM and MT appearances.
I think this more amplified the frustration and brought it to the foreground more than it already was with lemix.
The WHAT?
Which almost always, if not always fail. Sooner or later (usually sooner) the “sold” account is deleted.
People complain about that happening and yet others will still buy it. “Buyers beware, product will digitigrade” and people buy anyways.
One of the MT appearances I got was the havoc demon hunter one. DH was my main at the time and it just happens to be one of my favs as well. Warglaives they are just freaking on fire. I love weapons that are made out of magic or elemental energy rather than being physical (updated lightsaber when). One of my best friends mains demon hunter but didn’t in legion and missed out on it. I’d love for her to be able to get it as well and anyone else who doesn’t have it. I won’t feel less special. It’s a cool appearance. I wanna see more transmogs with it included.
Of course “ignore it until it goes away” see,ms to be a common motto of theirs.
Of course not because they already side with you.
But you’d think they’d consider all this feedback.
You’d think they’d reconsider their apparently unpopular opinion.
Stubbornness is not a virtue.
Yep especially considering modern MT is more challenging then legion one was except perhaps for it’s first week. Once you started actually getting gear in that season it became easier and by next season it became a joke.
Not dissimilar to the green fire quest for locks. I got that with normal and some heroic gear from HoF and pretty much nothing from ToT content. I was undergeared from it. TOok me 84 tries. It was the sorta predacessor to MT solo challenges. And yet by the end of the expansion it could be brute forced. I did it again a month before WoD and took me 2 ties and that’s because the first try I derp’d.
Yet green fire is still obtainable the exclusive thing is a title “of the black harvest” but you got that as long as you beat the challenge in the mists expansion. Heroic SoO gear (I only had some normal) cheesed it and they got the same title I did for putting in more effort than most did because I didn’t wait to get more gear to do it. And I’m fine with that. I’m also fine that green fire got kept for future players. I hope they give us void paladins one day as well.
Yes I know it’s “different” because green fire was never advertised as time limited but both of them offer cosmetics for a class via a very challenging solo combat scenario that got cheesed late into the expansion.
The difference is one is obtainable and the other isn’t and also there is way more mounts and mogs than druid forms. If there were 1000s of druid forms it’d be a bigger issue.
Also with other fomo mog and mounts like elite pvp or ksm mounts you might not be able to get th eold one, but you can get the new one. So maybe you didn’t get season 1 TWW but you got season 2 tww you have something to compare and contrast with friends rather than simply being without.
Maybe it’s just my inner communist talking but scarcity and value are meaningless to me. The only thing that has actual value to me is human life.
Scarcity is something that should be abolished to the best of our ability ESPECIALLY artificial scarcity.
Could say the same to you. Just because you want to keep these appearances exclusive super duper mega bad doesn’t mean you’re entitled to that.
Though to be fair you are the one being entitled. Entitled to the appearances you have.
Not all limited rewards are as popular as the unique cat and bear form. Especially since pretty much every other limited reward, titles, mogs, mounts have thousands of other good options when druids do not. Even if you try to include all races and variants druid sonly have 200 forms compared to thousands of transmog and mounts.
No but it’s more rare. Most of the KSM moutns are also either a recolor or get a recolor anyways.
Paladins (and some dks) can but it is a very specific mount not any.
Sorry for being pedantic but aaa.
Yeah it is pretty exhausting all the people who feel entitled to hoard content from 10 years ago.
Oh you know the fact that it’s been worse than balance for almost every patch for over 10 years, probably 15 by now and it’s brief stints of being better are quickly hotfixed.
IT’s also the least changed spec in the game. I was playing classic anni when it came out as a druid and other then missing some abilities it’s the exact same as it is now. Which isn’t inherently bad, but not inherently good either.
Feral has often been really good in PvP but I rarely PvP the last time I PvP’d even semi seriously was WoD because there was nothing else to do after most of my raiding guild quit.
My main for two expansion has been evoker and I’ve done maybe 1 or 2 regular bgs and a handful of duels on them.
I do not like balanace at all so the idea of being kicked from an m+ or being asked by my guild to go boomy is not appealing to me. And my guild never has a tank slot open so playing druid just isn’t an option. I used to like resto but I just cant’ get my head around it anymore. It’s too proactive for me.
I was unhappy & against playing feral for a bit (they are usually in a bad spot numerically which hasn’t helped)… but, recently, became more content due to WoW creating/giving us a new toy (Guise of the Phase Diver).
I had been using Guise of the Phase Diver when questing as feral - but with the bug, I was reminded of how much less sparkly I could ever become. On a significantly closer level, since I was then able to compare the two side-by-side.
I had always been sad to have missed out on the forms as a kid, this event just reignited those feelings. Just sucks that such a major cosmetic feature is forever unavailable now. Like you… I wish there was at least some new tint - or some other comparable form.
Addition: …Now on the plus side. I recently discovered that if you combine the Cherry Blossom Trail toy with the Levitate Priest ability… You have an equally vivid sparkle/flower trail to the MT Cat forms.
It’s pretty incredible. I’m switching back to priest and loving every second of that sparkle. Just wish newer druids had an equal trail now, too.
I definitely plan to do Legion Classic. Whenever that is announced.
It isn’t. WoWhead can’t collect data from those that don’t have accounts and DataforAzeroth is similar. You have to make an account and “update” whenever there’s a change to your account.
So, not very accurate. Only Blizzard has all numbers.
