Funnily enough, I can click almost any point in this thread and find only one of you flailing.
Just ignore him. He is apparently mad for not having the shiny toy you have.
I don’t have the wearbear and sparkle kitty either, I am not upset cause I know those forms are reserved for the Archdruid that fought legion with me (as a uncrowned shadowblade) when Legion invades again 8 years ago. I am still very proud wearing my Fangs of Devour everyday in Dorn.
You are well deserved the form, archdruid.

Is it the one who can’t accept what is?
Make a v.2 tower.?
Why destroy fun / opportunities?
People knew this would happen. Quite sad kav
Immature blues strike again.
No one against v2 tower, but v2 tower should have v2 reward/appearance.
Go touch some grass bruh holy moly lol.
Sounds like projection, I bet you wrote this from a basement, didn’t you, since you only have 6 posts, all from this thread save one from 7 years ago when you couldnt figure out how to make wow work on your potato of a PC
Pot meet kettle lol
It has and it generally has been with the AoTC mounts too, they put the spellwing back in.
Well given there is still time to put them in? we can continue to scream into the void about it, until either blizzard listens to us… or doesn’t
I got nothing but time, pain, and suffering to give out, my life is pretty crappy (pretty sure others have it worse though.) So to this I say I do what I want with my time.
there is a v2 tower it just rewards armor.
No but I can continue to reply and provide my feedback about my displeasure on not having it.
I’m not paying to play any of them currently otherwise I might be saying stuff about their stuff too?
Sure Ill go outside when I get a new spine.

You are not Blizzard. You do not get to tell people what to do within these forums in regards to development decision. If Blizzard did not want people to provide feedback or request for the Mage Tower Artifact skins, they’ve would’ve been the ones to post that.
We all here can request for the Mage Tower Artifact Skins to come back, and this is coming from one person who has them!
The fact that they made several statements saying “no” then let slip a bug that went completely against those repeated statements and the following onslaught of community feedback is why it deserves a follow-up statement from them in a more official capacity. The Blue post on this thread says “players that didn’t earn them” this along with the lack of mentioning it in the most recent bug fix may lend credibility to the idea that they’re considering making them obtainable through legitimate means (it’s entirely possible the framework for this is what triggered the bug in the first place). So yeah, I do think they need to at the very least acknowledge how much they’ve hurt the community with this particular issue.
They will inevitably release them just depends how many years since original content for the players who weren’t born to have a chance to obtain them as their target audience according to their ESRB rating is still T for Teen.
Back here to give another bit of my two cents on the issue. The main argument as to why to keep it are “it is prestigious”. In fact, that’s straight up the reason being given nowadays.
However, it looks like the reason Mage Tower appearances were removed in the first place is seemingly because it was meant to be a “badge of honor” that says “I was there” and “I did this” during legion and that keeping the Mage Tower challenge scaled, balanced, and up-to-date would be a “distraction from current content”. (Source)
However, this reasoning is outdated now. Blizzard has an evergreen version of the mage tower now. Therefore, the only thing that the skins TRULY show is “I did the Mage Tower in Legion” and “I was there in Legion”. It isn’t a show of prestige, because anyone can do the mage tower now and I have heard countless accounts of people who did it back then saying it’s harder now in the current iteration of it than it was in the Argus patch.
Is the AotC mount not “prestigious”? If AotC mounts aren’t meant to be prestigious, then why do they get removed at the end of an expansion?
Are the Chosen Dead deathless not “prestigious”? If they weren’t meant to be prestigious, then why did they get removed in the first place?
People constantly hit me with “well MoP challenge mode sets weren’t available, why did you think the mage tower would be different?”. That argument doesn’t hold up anymore because they brought back the Violet Spellwing after refusing to bring back the Kor’kron War Wolf. Besides, from my understanding, MoP challenge modes were dungeons, making it more comparable to the modern system of M+. Mage Tower was solo content. It’d be far more comparable to the Mad World Feat of Strength from Horrific Visions, or the ?? Delve Nemesis bosses.
I believe the Delve Nemesis bosses’ mount skins aren’t entirely removed, they’re just lower drop chance, so I will focus more on the Horrific Visions. (Although I could see adding the skins as a super low drop rate on the retail mage tower as being okay since it’s not fully unobtainable it’s just up to RNG. In fact with current mage tower scaling that’d straight up make it even that much harder to get the skins, meaning that people who earned them still had to work HARD for them. Not my preference by a long shot, but I’d rather that than them just be straight up unavailable).
In BfA, Horrific Visions had a Feat of Strength that awarded you “the Faceless One” as a title if you did a full clear of both Stormwind and Orgrimmar visions, with all 5 masks active, while solo. This Feat of Strength and the title were advertised as going away with the Shadowlands Pre-patch. Because of this, I made sure I had my 5-mask solo clears done in time, since I want it and I had some awesome mogs / alts planned that could realy benefit from that title!
Come The War Within, they decide to re-add the literal exact same FoS and title reward back into the game. And you know what? I didn’t throw a fit that someone else may get to have that awesome title! I didn’t care that the challenge was quite frankly easier to get now than it was in BFA (as you can now choose any 5 masks, even one of the new ones, of which some are far less punishing than if you ran with the 5 masks that existed back in the day.)
So tell me, was that solo challenge not “prestigious”? Why did that reward come back, but not the Mage Tower? The only difference in my achievement and someone else’s would be the date it was obtained and the word “revisited” being present in the new one but not the old one. People asking for Mage Tower Appearances aren’t even asking for an achievement for it- we just want to look cool!
So… yeah, Blizzard is wildly inconsistent with what’s “prestigious”. Mage tower is “prestigious” because Blizzard decided arbitrarily that it is, when other challenges and limited-time rewards got brought back.
Besides, I’ve got plenty of other limited time rewards (AotC mounts and even an elite PvP set), and I have my achievements to show for all that if I really want people to know that I did all that when it was current content. I also have the memories/knowledge for my own personal satisfaction that yes, I accomplished it! Other people having it would not diminish my self-satisfaction. My enjoyment of these cool cosmetics I have is because I have them, not because others don’t and can’t get them.
In this case? Yes.
Though I should clarify.
While I understand the point you’re making, I do not necessarily think it is that cut and dry. This is not a normal situation. I am not blaming Blizzard, nor am I blaming the playerbase. This is something very, very strange that just happened.
During a heavily touted patch event that focused entirely on one expansion? Something players had literally been requesting for years was made available. This was something that had previously only been available from a limited time event. In this same event, they were bringing back things that had previously only been available from a limited time event.
A bug happened that gave players access to the thing they have literally been seeking for years, related directly to the expansion being focused on during the limited time patch event. The bug was resolved, meaning that players were offered just a taste of something they had been asking for, and then had the plate unceremoniously removed.
This is something of an extraordinary sequence of events that looks so coincidental that it arouses suspicion. A huge number of people (I mean that, this is a lot for the forums) have commented on the thread talking about it in a very short period of time. The standard cap was lifted, and we are nearing 3000 posts.
There is a lot of engagement in this thread. And a lot of this engagement involves people expressing some understandable frustration, confusion, and disagreement. This is, in essence, the feedback that companies are asking for. This is a direct representation that large numbers of their customer base feels a certain way.
Usually, that ends up creating some feedback. This is especially true if the thread was created by the company. That’s not just with Blizzard, that’s kind of across the board. Blizzard has, several times, responded to this kind of thing. Even if it’s to simply say “We hear your feedback, but the answer is no”, or “We hear your feedback, and we’re discussing it internally”, or “We hear your feedback. Please keep it coming.”
Because this is such a strange situation, it left a lot of people with questions. So, I understand the desire for some sort of acknowledgment that they understand people still want to discuss.
Your first part is something I am genuinely wondering about. I didn’t really see people upset that other people had it. I didn’t even see that on different forums. I mean, sure, you have the same people addicted to negativity complaining that anyone other than them could get nice things (people who I would bet actual money ended up benefiting from the same systems they were complaining about), but…the response was pretty much overwhelmingly positive.
It’s like…who are you trying to protect? The people who left the game years ago? The people who obtained it with the next tier of gear? I have another suspicion that starts dipping a bit too close to cynicism for my tastes.
It’s such a baffling hill to die on. “Sure, you can get stuff that is extremely prestigious (in that it was removed from the game over 15 years ago, like Naxxramas and Argent Dawn gear), but you can’t have these things that are very prestigious.”
…>_>
Hey, no joke? That Mists Remix phoenix is gorgeous.
Hurt the community… over colors?

How many times do I have to tell you who cares
When they have gone back on their stance multiple times based on feedback–or backlash—or mass unsubscriptions, this excuse does not matter.
I’m skeptical this will cause any more than the average amount of player base churn.
It’s not BFA or Shadowlands level of bad, and really only the Druids seem have an issue with it.
No. It didn’t. You just fit the bill of literally every poster that is gatekeeping and trying to fight with people. Like…all of you have low post count, they are all in this thread, meaning all you guys actually care about is gatekeeping other people.
It’s sad.
Unless you’re across the world from me, you’re lying. Wouldn’t be surprised.
Which of these 3 challenge modes have they budged on?
- MoP challenge mode sets
- WoD challenge mode weapons
- Legion Challenge mode weapons
I’ll wait. Take your time.
How long between tbc (the first request of classic realms) and when they actually came out?)
