Unintended Bear and Cat Forms (Part 1)

The argument that it’s somehow childish to offer feedback on a video game will never not be funny to me.

That’s literally all this is. Players offering feedback on no longer obtainable items. Blizzard is willing to walk back some aspects of FOMO (as indicated by them bringing back the Mythic TOV Chosen set in Remix) so I’m not sure why there’s this prevailing sentiment that any feedback about bringing back additional appearances is somehow argumentative or a tantrum.

Regardless, I hope Blizzard changes their stance and gives my fellow druids a shot at their appearances.

A child accepts an unfair rule, and think that it is just an unfair world. Adults try to make the world better.

Which is a repeat.

I wish you best on Legion Classic for acquiring your druid forms

We had a MoP remix as well. How many challenge mode sets were available there?

If you are obsessing over pixels this much, I suggest calling a professional and having a conversation with them

So lets see your 4000 page thread about adding NEW forms?

And thats exactly what we’re doing. We’re giving blizzard feedback letting them know we support their decision to keep these rare.

I discuss this one often with my friends. Something like Snow White (snowflake sparkle), midnight, rainbow and pink.

Perfectly said. Children accept where they are since that is all they know. Adults however, can push and enact change in order to improve the world for others.

And thank you. I think it’s about time Classic Legion be announced (at least for their long-term plans).

I mean, I would love to have an interview with some of the WoW devs regarding brining new tints (or the originals) back. That being said we aren’t supposed to say “attention blizz” or anything along those lines when using the forums.

That’s already in this thread. People are wanting new sparkles.

And you’re welcome to do so.

If anything people are telling those who want sparkle forms to back down and “accept things as they are” (which translates to not wanting my side of players to voice their thoughts).

If you all want change. Don’t give up. Keep pressing for these sparkles. They mean a lot to us. And it IS significant.

One waytogive Druids more choices (in addition to glyphs for new hide patterns and hair dyes for new fur colors) would be permanent enchanter illusions that persist in animal form.

A snowstorm illusion or sunlight sparkle or void glow would be an easy way to give Druids more agency, presence, and choices in how our animal forms appear in game.

Would also like a glyph to make FelFurbolg’s highlight color icy blue, fire red, or void viole instead of Fel green.

I think it would be great for the game if everything were obtainable, and people could use what they like rather than what’s rare.

Crying about sparkly cat forms is not exactly something an adult would do lol.

Sure. And?

Again, the weapons in Legion weren’t designed that way. Divorcing the shape from the weapon would automatically deflate the purpose druids of those specs did MT.

It’s objectively not. It’s just design you don’t like, and you’re using your subjective opinion to claim an absolute to either mask your own jealousy, or justify the petulant jealousy of others.

Yes. The only reason druids seem so voluminous at the moment is due to the recent bug. But even if that weren’t the case, numbers are irrelevant to the decision Blizzard has made.

It’s not- it’s an apt comparison. DH’s have asked for a toggle like Wargen, druids, and Evokers have, with comparable customization, for years.

Druids are missing every form they didn’t collect, and most druids don’t even have all of the available forms. This is a weird game for you to play in that regard. But I’ll say it again regardless: ratio of total forms isn’t relevant to Blizzard’s decision because making this one form (sparkle cat) available again will automatically deflate the value of reward left to druids who did MT in Legion. I have no issue with a sparkle felcat being released for MT. Why isn’t anybody here advocating for it?

I think it’s because many people doubt that it will look good enough. If it sparkled really well and looked like the felkit/felcat battlepet that you can buy in the shop (very cute)… I would DIE (metaphorically).

Then we could have felbear, felbird, and fel-sparkle kitty. All that would be left would be a fel tint for the boomkins

1st edit/addition: I think a lot of players were disappointed that a beautiful sparkling fel cat was not released whenever felbear was.

2nd edit/addition: The more I think about a sparkling felkitty the more exciting the idea is. I would ADORE the felkit (battle pet on store) as a kitty form w/ a sparkling green trail.

Look man. Beggars can’t be choosers. MT forms aren’t coming back so advocate for what you can get. Personally I love the fel bear more than any of the Legion colors, i have full confidence in a similar treatment for feral.

Blizzard explained the only reason they made felbear available was its unique skeleton. I found it to be an odd choice given that they could just put that skelton into a different skin, which is what they ended up doing in DF. All felbear really did was open the door to more complaining. I’ve never had an issue with difficult to obtain recolors though, and wish they’d either gone all in on not bringing MT appearances back, or all in on bringing back recolors of all of them.

It objectively creates a two tier game. Where players who experienced legion have access to a better toon (or at least more desired toon) for 90% of their game play than all the players who joined the game for a decade after.

Instead of the privileged tiers achievements inspiring greater effort and engagement in the second tier, new players hit an impossible wall that causes resentment, disenfranchisement, and disappointment. It fractures the game. Which is poor game design.

Well… we will continue begging until we finally get something that actually satisfies our desires. We don’t simply want “more forms” we want forms that we like… this being said, a quality sparkling felcat would likely satisfy the masses.

In terms of the new fel-bear skin… I agree in that it looks better than the original mage tower bear forms. While the shape is wonky… I like the little green shoulder trails (though think it would’ve been more fun if more vivid).

the issue with the sparkle cat’s isn’t it’s skeleton, it’s their unique sparkle effect. Not the cats themselves. If they made a form with a unique sparkle effect, then we would finally have a comparable form.

And same…

It objectively creates a reward system for doing content while it’s current. That’s about it.

This is a subjective no matter how you cut it.

I’m certain Blizzard has several psychologists assisting in their design elements, and I’m certain you’re not one of them. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I’ve spoken to a handful of new players curious about my mog over the years, and none of them were resentful. It’s wild how hard you’re trying to project your own unhealthy obsession onto unspecified ‘new players.’

Explain this to me. What’s fractured? Are you saying half of the current subs aren’t participating due to these two exclusives despite still subbing? How is this alleged fracture manifesting?

Everything you’ve alleged is unsubstantiated. Poor design creates unhealthy gameplay and reward structures, and ultimately loses money, say like making the game a chore to play and locking players into playstyle paths e.g. Shadowlands. What you’ve described thus far is simply design you don’t like.

Starting a daily post to request restoration or refresh of the MT druid forms, please.

(wouldn’t mind some new colors becoming available for the rune bear while they’re at it)

This is a reward mechanism that comes from games with notoriously short lifespans. Leave that jank in mobile games.
