Necrotic Wounds is now as follows:
- Putrefy has 1 additional charge and applies a Necrotic Wound, absorbing 8% of all healing received for 15 sec.
Concern 1: Every Dark Transform, you spend all 3 charges to get 24% absorb for ~12s, then ZERO Necrotic Wounds for 30s.
Concern 2: If Lesser Ghoul is rooted, slowed, CCed, poorly pathed, killed, or opponent is no longer in range, 0% absorb.
Concern 3: Death Strike healing reduced by 5%. Necrotic Wounds healing reduced to zero for 30s. Overall reduction in survivability.
Maybe the play is to spam Festering Strike + Festering Scythe with Necromancer’s Bargain for 300% Shadow damage and 200% AP healing until it gets nerfed to uselessness after the first week.

They just need to change it so you can refresh the debuff instead of it falling off.
But yeah, they should change it from putrify to scourge strike instead.
That way it can function with the disease or sanlayn build and cleaving scourge strikes would spread the effect which fills the intent missing through putrify.
- Doomburst has been updated – Sudden Doom also causes your next Death Coil to deal damage of your plagues an additional time at 25% effectiveness and reduce the target’s movement speed by 45% for 3 seconds.
- Life and Death has been updated – When the target afflicted with your Dread Plague is healed, you are also healed for 10% of the amount. Additionally, Dread Plague deals 200% of its remaining damage to the target when dispelled.
- Necromancer’s Bargain has been updated – Festering Strike no longer causes Scourge Strike to summon a Lesser Ghoul but instead causes it to deal Shadow damage and heal you for 100% of that amount.
- Necrotic Wounds has been updated – Putrefy has 1 additional charge and applies a Necrotic Wound to the enemy when it deals damage, absorbing 8% of all healing received for 15 seconds. Max 3 stacks. Adding a stack does not refresh the duration.
- Reanimation renamed to Zombify.
I’m not sure how well Necrotic Wounds will work being attached to Putrefy but I’m really glad to see we are back to healing absorb effects instead of mortal strike effects.
I also don’t understand the new Necromancer’s Bargain, if it’s toggleable then I love the idea of exchanging damage for healing when we are forced to play defensive. If it’s just a passive that is always on then it really hampers our ability to use putrefy. Either way I am glad to see them experimenting with more self healing options for unholy.
Life and Death being changed to Dread Plague is interesting, though I suspect the numbers tuning would need to be higher for me to consider taking it. Though this might be the answer to people dispelling San’layn’s Infliction of Sorrow ramp up.
