Well it is why they made dungeon quests all require the last boss to die as well. It is like they unlearn what they figured out in the past.
I got my memory a few minutes ago. It took 26 tries, and it finally dropped on my 9th heroic.
It was like this in vanilla when people fished for a particular piece of loot. Nothing to see here.

With it being RNG based I can still see people spamming normal even after M+ comes out. Especially if they are solo grinding it out.
At least as a rogue, when I leave it’s only after the first boss and a DPS spot is quick to fill.
Idk why dungeon bosses don’t drop anima (granted anima sucks). Legion didn’t have this problem because of artifact power.

Sure, I don’t disagree with that.
But I think removing a tenet of the game for the past 14ish years, daily heroic lockouts, to solve the problem is the wrong solution. If the pieces are “that important”, then they should have kept the heroic mechanic and either upped the drop rate, or made it currency based, or add RNG protection, or something of that nature.
Tossing out the heroic mechanic is the baby with the bathwater, EVEN THOUGH I realize that it’s “sort of moot” nowadays since you could queue and “get around” the mechanic.
But it just demonstrates more lack of foresight and design than anything else.
If I need something from the first boss I’ll only stay for the first boss.
Why waste an additional half an hour if my life?
When mythic plus happens just do that. Your 1 piece of gear between 5 people will be waiting for you at the end of the dungeon.

This is exactly what I did and I got my legendary in half the time lul
But fr they should make it so normal dungeons don’t drop legendaries. That way the people leveling can be free from people grinding out their leggos.
I mean. This has always been a potential issue with loot.

World bosses are 100% drops though. So are the torghast wings that aren’t available yet.
Just make it 100% drop rate and be done with it. Nobody enjoys spamming normals / heroics anyways. Content for the sake of content is why BFA was trash. Time played metrics don’t work, half the player base suffers through it and “works” for their reward while the other half just unsubs.
This, I finished the entire dungeon my first couple runs, didn’t want to screw the group over.
After like run #5, I had abandoned all hope and embraced despair after realizing people were doing 50+ runs without seeing their memory, and just dropped after the boss didn’t have my item.
No, join a guild if you’re going to ditch, don’t screw over random people by ditching their dungeons. Thats just being a selfish jerk.
