MVP on these forums is a pathetic joke.
Agree with the OP.
well did people expect the cloning service to last forever? i mean come on.
the one thing i’ll agree on is the default should have been classic era. but of course blizzard would make the default the expacs, because they wanna pump those numbers up. once you deal with blizzard enough you’ll start to understand why they do the things they do and be able to adjust your behavior accordingly.
Was there anything to suggest the opposite?
All other paid Blizzard services have been available with no shelf life once introduced. Why would there be any expectation that the cloning service would be any different? The only exception being a recent shutdown of paid transfers between Era servers that has the playerbase rather bewildered, but this is something that came after the cloning shut down.
At the end of the day, Blizzard can do what they want. It doesn’t have to make sense and we don’t have to like it. The issue here is how it was communicated. When the service launched, every account holder was emailed informing them that they could spend their money on this new service. However, when the service was shut down, that same courtesy was not extended.
As I said above, we can’t change what happened. However, “You were informed” is an inappropriate response to anybody who was unsubbed and disconnected from the battle.net launcher at the time the service was shut down. In fact, the only appropriate response is…
That sucks and I’m sorry you lost your character data. Blizzard dropped the ball on communication surrounding this and you are one of many who lost their characters as a result. Unfortunately, Blizzard is not taking ownership of this and have stated that the data cannot be recovered, so there’s nothing further to be done.
Empathy and understanding is just not that hard.
Yeah most of us had to re-roll fresh on Classic Era Whitemane because of this exact thing. =(
Rip buddy, if you want to play on Whitemane we welcome you if you’re still interested, the leveling experience is really good I just got my warrior to 60 about 5 weeks ago, and then re-focused again to raiding but now today gonna start working on my warrior again.
Covering all your bases… I like it.
haha,!!!
really? all that money.
You’re years late to the party and the fact you didn’t keep up to date with the game is your own fault. Sorry you weren’t paying attention? The servers still exist and you can play on them.
They could have atleast sent the account owners an email. Not everyone launches a battle.net launcher or wowhead.
People actually have lives outside of the game. Believe it or not.
I believe they did send e-mails. Which is still no excuse for defaulting everyone to TBC. That was just dumb. But the progression servers have the boost and deluxe editions. So that’s where the money is and where Blizz wants the players.
somehow some blizzard emails goes to spam / junk folder, so people wouldn’t notice them.
Same, tbh.
