This was also on a fresh reset instance, it made no difference, I got the boss down to 70%, turned around to take care of the adds and couldn’t because they were stuck outside shooting me.

But yeh I got that one done. I’ve do all the solo stuff when it was live except Mage Tower, it’s the only one I didn’t want to do since I wasn’t really striving for things back than like I am now.
I met him… and died in hilarious fashion. There was literally no place in the room to stand out of the fire. It as like Deaathwing was stuffed into a mechasuit and dropped into the delve.
I finally completed this today on my ilvl 621 Destro lok. I found a video of another lok finishing it in about six minutes, watched it a dozen times, and then gave it another shot. It definitely wasn’t easy, and I wouldn’t have beaten it without that video. I initially overcomplicated the fight by trying to aim the bombs at the adds instead of simply kicking them away. Infernal management was key for me and a lot of luck. Good luck!

They aren’t supposed to go up there anyway. Unless it’s a mechanic at lower health I haven’t seen.
What happens is they spawn in extremely buggy random places. As you are aware. Some of these spots are up in the audience and it looks like it might be partly intended but it’s not. They aren’t even supposed to be up there.
Like once there were only 3/5 that spawned for me. Then the other 2 appeared later. Lasting a long time as tank might allow people to live long enough until they appear to “come back” from above. Or it might seem like a soft enrage mechanic as more and more spawn outside as time goes on. But it’s not, I’m pretty sure it’s just them constantly bugging. As DPS I can’t take hits from these guys for long and am pushed to kill all of them asap. 2 shooting through walls is too many for me to sustain in a fight. Like the Zekvir eggs, you are meant to deal with them as soon as they come.
I’m pretty sure even the arena spawns are bugged as they seem too random. I think they are meant to spawn more in formations, like sports players. And you would kick the bombs in a way that hits the formations effectively maybe? At times I saw them spawned totally scattered which means like 10 bombs and literally teleporting everywhere would be required to down them.
I mean, that’s the best grasp I have of it. I have never got past spawn 2 effectively. First spawn is often okay.
You don’t have the achievement, all you done was the ? version (or grouped for ? ?), the ? ? version is quite literally impossible at 621 iLVL, you won’t have the DPS needed to break his shield.
The while fight is a soft enrage mechanic where if you don’t have a set DPS the shield will never break, and if you do break the shield but don’t do the bombs the adds will overwhelm you, and if you do the adds, break the shield and it drags on too long then you will end up with the entire outside of the arena covered in dead adds that burn for a lot of damage minimising where you can stand.
That’s the bug, the adds ‘spawn’ and don’t jump down into the arena when they are called, they just stay outside shooting you. It’s not a low health issue, or a ‘taking too long’ problem, I had this happen on a fresh instance before I even hit the first shield phase.
All the reported kills I’ve heard of were from tanks who could just survive the add bug. Supposedly tank+dps brann. From what I’ve seen the add spawns are just weird. Sometimes its like 4 adds near where I am. Sometimes its 4-6 adds across the room. Sometimes its 3 adds on one side of the room and 2 adds on the other. And sometimes they just come in from the bleachers and don’t come down. Brann is also targetable and one shot by every single avoidable mechanic on that fight which means he is dead even more often than he was for zekvir.
Also, boss doesn’t reset hero and cooldowns when reset and it’s the worst thing ever.
Its a shame because between the cracks of way too much upfront damage and buggy bots I can see the shape of a fun solo encounter, but right now its not worth doing unless you can brute force it with a class that can’t die of natural causes.
Also yeh the adds spawn pattern is non existent, having to run around kicking bombs to one side, then do it again on the other side, and now oops boss has phased and you are nowhere near them, GG.
No i get it, I’m doing it on a mm hunter this tier I die of heat death upon the adds spawning. But just going off of how the mechanic felt in ? where you could actually preposition the bombs I like the skeleton of the fight a whole lot better than I did zekvir. I’m beyond willing to change that opinion upon the discovery of the intended mechanic being run 6 bombs across the entire arena every minute, because I think that would be garbage for various reasons including mobility between classes but going off of how unfinished it all feels I’m willing to give the benefit of the doubt that it might not actually end up being that.
Also, this fight made me take the plunge and just hotkey the interact button. Might as well since I’ll be doing the same sort of thing for first boss of motherlode too. Clicking the bombs while multitasking was already sketchy even when the boss wasn’t standing in them.
