Underpin in Delves

Is it just me, or is it lame that when the Underpin shows up in an 11 Solo Delve, your character pretty much has to be full heroic gear to beat him, and the best drop you get from doing so is champion gear?

Well he’s supped to be powerful

I was in bount t11 fighting a rare treasure crab and he pops up and killed me.

That’s how I got my map for the week

If I wasn in a confined area I could have got em

My point is, if he only drops champion gear and you have to have the next level gear to beat him, what’s the point of dropping lesser gear?

He can drop Hero gear as well. He does tend to spawn during elite/rare elite pulls. I find it best to just ignore him until the thing you’re fighting is dead then work on him.

I usually have no problem beating him, just never seen him drop anything above champion.

I think it’s just random what he drops.

That’s the thing. He always seems to pop into a confined space for me, too.

He also drops the gear if he beats you, the only benefit of driving him off is that it doesn’t impact your lives remaining.

Anyway, the main benefit is that he drops the treasure map which does give hero gear.

Uh… I haven’t ever been full Heroic gear and it’s been fine. Don’t stand in bad, move away from the bombs, get him to 50%. He doesn’t hit that hard.

I will be honest. I had waaaaay more trouble with Zekvir pop-ins than I ever had with Underpin.

He also drops a bounty, which if you use it… will give you a hero piece and an extra 10 guilded crests.

I haven’t figured out a way to beat him at all. He always leaves before I can kill him.

First you don’t need full heroic gear, not even close. I beat him when he shows up in 11s in my undergeared alts.

Second, just run away and line of sight he’ll often despawn. Even if you wipe you get loot

i just let him kill me so i can loot his pile of gold

I don’t think it’s lame that you should have to be in good gear at the top of a delve’s endgame point to take out a random chance encounter which is meant to be difficult, no. Heroic gear is very easily obtained. You’ll be fine.
