Not removed, just unable to be purchased from vendors.
Now theres a thread about first epic mounts in classic and how soon people will be able to purchase them. This makes the excuse Blizz gave seem even more irrelevant and the decision not to include unarmored mounts totally unnecessary.

Lost hype because of this choice. Completely no sense. Blizzard always finds a way to piss off players.
Blizz. If you are reading this, I just want to say that you will make a lot of people happy and keep them loyal and for a very long time as subscribers if you implement the unarmored mounts.

Sorry but the mounts are still able to be used if you have one and were obtainable through other players for i dont know how long it just didnt equate to âremovedâ in my mind. Its not as if they all became armored once the vendors stopped selling.
Now câmon Blizz these belong in Classic.
Havenât visited this thread in a while but just saw an update about Classic and my first thought was to check here⌠and well, there goes my hype.
Blizz, I get that you need to cherrypick certain systems to use since Classic represents all of Vanilla as a whole, but to leave out something as renown and unique as the unarmored mounts just seems all kinds of wrong.
im so dissapointed to not be able to get the unarmored frost saber. This is classic and i was promised classic.
Gotta protect the casuals from rushing to 60 bruh. 
right its like we know theres this awesome mount that not everyone gets cuz you have to do something meaningful to get it lets just take that away.
Have they still not bothered making a better statement than âwe donât want people to rushâ? Just one throwaway answer in an interview. Would we even know the mounts werenât in the game if someone hadnât asked that specific question?
I wouldnât be surprised if they were âdiscussingâ this thread and reviewing how much support there has been in favor of putting these mounts back into Classic where they belong.
Maybe we will get an update a week before launch, maybe even an announcement a few days before, who knows!? I would rather keep sending positive thoughts their way in hopes they will reconsider.
It gets more difficult to be hopeful the closer we get to the release date, but youâre right. At least thereâs a couple of weeks left. I really hope they make a statement with a better excuse even if it ultimately is a ânoâ.
Same thing with the black qiraji mount and title, but for some reason they are not taking that away. Weird.
No unarmored mounts? Why the hell not? They âlistenedâ to people who wanted a RP PVP server soooo wtf blizz⌠and whatâs with the low number of servers? Trying to make classic fail so you can say âwe told you soâ ?
Yes. Just wait until Classic launches and the 95% of the people that are unaware of this change get upset because Blizzard think itâs so insignificant they only mentioned it to a few insignificant youtubers in a small Q&A.
Stating that you have a true recreation of Vanilla and not including these mounts just doesnât work.

Dear Actiblizz,
today is my moms 
75th Birthday!
she told me all she wants for her birthday is for her baby to be able to get the Unarmored lvl60 mounts from vanilla in this Classic museum. She doesnât even know what most of these words mean yet somehow still understands its not a very authentic museum if items from vanilla are left out while non-vanilla stuff is included.
Also, she told me to tell you at 41 Iâm old enough to decide how fast or slow I want to level regardless of the reason.
