The sheer volume of people that cannot log into the game is beyond ridiculous. Add in the massive lag spikes, delayed quest progress, and loot lag causing disconnects…how can a company even begin to think this level of service is acceptable? You have people already level 60 who were lucky to advance early, while some people have been trying to login or progress for the last 4+ hours with no luck.
How about you do some basic damage control and at least award people with free game time for the trouble. Smaller companies manage to do this…why can’t you?

Does this type of thread appear every major update/xpac?
…oh wait, it does.
VENT ON!
Now to wait for the “I’m quitting” threads to pop.
I’ve only experienced horrific expansion launches with one company… I’ve had some launches with other companies with a few hiccups here and there, and they were quick to offer game time or other concessions to make up for the inconveniences. Baffles me that expansion after expansion the same problems emerge. By now they should know what to expect and take steps to mitigate or prevent the issues…or if they want to keep being lazy, at least offer concessions.

There has never been a game (even Final Fantasy Online) that has as many people logging in contiguously like WoW has. I feel your pain (I’m here responding or trolling on threads while waiting) but it’s the nature of the beast. Blizzard is doing what they can with the restrictions that they have to get the game up and running properly.
They are not doing this on purpose like those people with tin foil hats think.

So ridiculous… It’s almost as if they have never done this before… this is the 8th expansion over 16 years… FIGURE IT THE F OUT… we pay you a monthly fee for this service and many of the people paying haven’t even been using it for the past few months…
The only expansion that went well was Legion… how do you not figure this out. So baffled and pissed off…

If they weren’t so worried about “World First Race” they could do like a ton of other games and stagger release to people…so servers aren’t flooded to death (since they have deemed it’s not cost effective to expand on server capacity or bandwidth for a temporary problem). You’d launch for Legendary edition pre-order on Friday, normal pre-orders on Monday, then everyone else on Tuesday…hard gate content for a week, won’t mess with your “World First Race” very much at all…
