This is still an issue and it is getting worse. It’s gone from happening every few weeks (from the date of the original post) to at least once a week and sometimes twice. I’ve resorted to keeping a back up of the WoW files in a seperate folder and I have to reinstall the game every single time I am faced with this issue. It just seems like we are all screaming into the void…
this exact issue was happening to me for MONTHS with overwatch 2. i decided to reinstall it through steam because of it, but ever since then it seems these problems have moved to WoW. unfortunately, unlike overwatch 2, WoW is not on steam.
I said this worked before, idk if it will continue to, but I’ve just abandoned using bnet altogether. Once I got WoW running again, I boot it up through ONLY the exe and whenever there’s an update (that I just find out from incompatible servers), I just open bnet to update it and then close it again.
So far this seems to be working, though maybe I’ve just been lucky, if anyone with this problem recently fixed wants to try it, please feel free to.
Only real downside to this is just I have to manually log in every time.
This really needs to be fixed. I get canned ticket responses, sending them valid dxdiag data. Makes no sense
I’ve tried everything on Windows 11, downgraded to Windows 11 and the same issue appears. Either Invalid Access to Memory or the Software can not be run on my computer…
the only way i’ve found to getting around this is that, in the off chance wow does in fact open, you just keep it open and not close it. this will probably only be helpful to a very small amount of people as i know many people cannot leave wow running overnight let alone keep their computer on, but it’s the only thing i’ve found that’s been able to prevent this problem
i’ve found that you can close wow briefly, but the problem starts occurring when wow has been closed for longer (not exactly sure how long but at least a couple of hours). i was able to close wow to update it today and it reopened fine.
I’m having the same issue. I hope this gets resolved in a cleaner way.
This is getting beyond stupid.
After last weeks patch, I was completely unable to play the game, so I did an absolute purge of everything Battle.net and WoW related on my PC. I installed everything fresh again, and I’ve been playing since last weeks patch. Get to downloading the patch today and I’m running into the same issues again. Won’t load, will get stuck on a loop of play>launching (not actually launching and nothing starting)>forced update>reclaiming disk space>play>repeat into infinity.
I’ve seen a few other forums pop up about this, but no communication or solution by Blizzard. This just started happening one day, so I can’t imagine that this is a user error.
so like is this ever going to get fixed or even addressed or…?
Anybody have a luck finding a fix? This same issue is happening to me.
New week, same issue.
I had to uninstall/reinstall after the patch last week because I was having the same issue, but after this I was able to play completely fine for the rest of the week. This weeks patch rolls around, I download the patch and hit “Play” but the problem has returned. Unable to play and I’m having to reinstall the game again.
I am still sitting here wasting game time and redownloading the game constantly and hoping it works. This is the worst coding i’ve ever seen lol
Aaaaaaaand here I am again. Game started working for me after several weeks, but it appears they broke it again with the last patch.
Been having this problem myself for weeks…thought it may have been an issue with my own personal PC but after getting a new one and running into this problem AGAIN (and finding this post) I can at least take some solace that it isn’t just me.
Honestly though, this is ridiculous. It’s every patch day now. I was playing all day yesterday just fine, get home from work today, wow needs to update. Oh boy, can’t wait for this. Yep, happened again and I have to reinstall because that is literally the only way to fix it for me. This is especially annoying because I come from an area that has pretty poor ISP options and it takes hours to download a game of this size. Oh well. Hope somebody can see this and help us, or maybe we’re just screaming into the void.
just started happening to me also either last patch or the one before the last…i foound a fix but was drunk and dont remember wtf it was…now im looking again to try to find a fix…i agree with an earlier post of this is getting really stupid having to pay monthly for a company that cant keep a game playable through patches
Still no fix. At the moment, none of my games will launch from the launcher. So frustrating & we shouldn’t have to run a repair/reinstall every time a new patch comes out. The fact that this has been ignored by Blizzard/Activision really shows me the kind of company they are.
It’s very unusual. The past 2 or 3 weeks I’ve not had the issue, and then randomly tonight, on a Thursday, I’ve run into it again. I try to manually launch WoW from the retail folder and get “Invalid access to memory location”. First I thought it was just an issue with my drivers not being up to date, but honestly I think it must be an issue with Bnet as this problem is happening to so many. I guess all we can do is keep bringing it up until there is a fix
having the same issue. used to be able to resolve with fresh reinstall but now even that isnt working
Having the same issue used to be able to repair and it would work but have been trying countless solutions for a few hours now to no avail
