Returning player to WoW so i am no stranger to creating macros in game. My issue is that with no addons running in version 12.0.7.68453 retail I am unable to create any macros at all. There are no script errors that I can find and after two days of trying to create a cast sequence opener for a mage, I have nothing to show for my efforts. Macro will not save no matter how many times I have hit the save button with a war hammer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled WoW twice now and feel like I am beating my head against a wall. Is there some new step I am missing that I cannot find any reference to or is this a known bug? Any help would be appreciated.
I’ve seen this pop up a couple times but doesn’t seem to be widespread. Is it happening for one or multiple characters & in both the General & Character macro tabs? After you hit save, does it register with an icon in the interface or just remain blank? Are you also having issues creating ‘Edit Mode’ profiles?
I can’t speak to why your interface is failing to save your macros, but maybe you can isolate the issue further.
If you check your WTF file, World of Warcraft > Retali > WTF > Account > Account Name, do you see any Macro or other cache files? This is where your General tab macros would be saved, you can drill further to your Realm & Character name for character specific macros & other files.
I just wonder if your files or pathing is corrupted even with the reinstall, it might be worth trying the Launcher Scan/Repair Tool.

You say there are no script errors (which infers potentially, the macro has saved and and you have the macro button on your action bar to click but get no error)
You also say, that macros will not save (which infers there is no button to place on your bars).
If the former, the make sure you have errors turned on or debugging installed (like BugGrabber plus BugSack addons).
If the latter then Shazzbot has some sound advice.
Also, are you clicking the New button to create a new macro?

For clarity I made reference to the script errors after I used the /Console ScriptErrors 1 command thinking it would populate an errors with regards to trying to create the macro. The reality is that I cannot create a new macro at all. No buttons to place and no script saved. Thank you for the replies Fizzlemizz and Shazzbot. As I said, any help and corrective comments are appreciated.
