Uh Kael'thas voice actor replaced?

I will say this… the soundtrack for Metal Gear: Rising was 100% awesome.

Going to listen to some of those tracks again now.

My two enduring memories of that game are this

and NANOMACHINES SON.

On those grounds alone yes but the manner in which the rules where technically broken are highly suspect and questionable, as was the root cause to spur the type of accusation Gina made against the companies apparent political behavior in ousting people who had an opinion that wasn’t theirs.

It doesn’t seem like a clean cut sacking to me and given the quality of recent Star Wars products I think it is safe to say that something wrong is going on behind the curtains at that mad house especially where this is considered a good idea Star Wars: The High Republic Trailer - Geode - YouTube.

Gina making accusations that she was unfairly treated doesn’t really stack up. As I already said, Pedro Pascal made similar posts, he was told to stop and he did, which is why he’s still employed by Disney and Lucasfilm. While he still shares political posts on his Twitter, his only ‘inflammatory’ post was from November last year, which is when he was warned. That tweet was deleted and everyone has moved on.

Gina on the other hand did the complete opposite. She doubled down on the posting, and when she was fired claimed she was being singled out. That Disney and Lucasfilm were anti-conservative, which just isn’t remotely true. Here’s how I know. Look at Chris Pratt. He is a conservative. He is a member of the anti-LGBTQ Hillsong Church, he has been a no-show at his fellow Marvel castmates’ public support for progressive causes. He’s even publicly worn a shirt displaying the Gadsden Flag (which is an American flag with the snake on it that says ‘Don’t tread on me’). Yet he’s still employed by Disney and will continue to star in Guardians of the Galaxy and future marvel films featuring his character.

James Gunn. His firing was a direct result of far-right influences that pushed Disney to fire James. John Boyega was very critical of Disney and Lucasfilm for pandering to the far right when it came to Star Wars when they diminished his role in the latest trilogy and completely axed Rose, the character played by Kelly Marie Tran.

I mean I could go on and on here listing conservatives who work for Disney, and give more and more examples of how Disney has pandered to the conservative fans they have. But I think the point I’m making is well made by now. Gina wasn’t treated unfairly, she just didn’t like getting fired after she disregarded warnings given to her by her employer.

How do you feel about the fact that Disney shrunk John Boyega on the Chinese poster to appease China?

Oh you probably don’t even care, you’re just a virtue signaler and as can be seen in this thread, you already deemed somebody guilty without even waiting for any facts to come out.

Yeah idk man that last trilogy really did have a lot of political implications. I really thought finn would become an important and powerful character but ended up not mattering at all towards the end.

Rose couldn’t decide who they are and idc what race or what color or what gender. It’s just a bad story man. Can’t fix a bad story with an actor you like.

No idea what the point of the story was. Girls can be jedi too? Black guys are fed up with corrupt government systems? I don’t understand who the movie was for.

This is such a non-issue, I am surprised people still bring it up. Not only was John Boyega not even upset about this, but neither were the actors that played Poe Dameron or Chewbacca when they were removed from the poster entirely. There’s no evidence to support the idea that this was done for racist reasons at all, so you’re reaching, and I expect you know that.

Keep in mind, he’s actually gotten upset at companies in the past over representation of him in China. He got pissed when, as the face of perfume brand Jo Malone, he was removed from the poster he created and was replaced by a Chinese actor, and he stepped down as the face of Jo Malone over the incident.

So do yourself a favour and stop bringing up that nothing burger in a weak attempt at a ‘gotcha moment’.

By the way, if you want to know the real reason why movie posters get changed, it has nothing to do with race, and everything to do with the almighty green dollar. They bank on stars or characters that are well known, which is why on that Star Wars poster, they blew up the pictures of Han Solo, played by Harrison Ford because he’s a big name in China, as well as BB-8, who was very popular ever since his reveal in the trailer for the film.

Many others think otherwise and I’m finding it difficult to take Disney’s side considering what they’ve let Star Wars sink into.

I’m assuming the previous actor quit so they really have no choice on this. Not really worth making a fuss over IMO

The old one is better than the ptr one. But apparently HR reasons mattered enough to force a downgrade. Very unfortunate.

So… I’m just gonna be straight up and say I had no idea about any allegations or any details about that whole mess. But, as I’m not an investigator nor involved in any way, I’ll give my opinion on the acting alone!

I think the new VA is just as good or… actually better? But it is admittedly a bit harrowing at first. You get so used to a character sounding a certain way, y’know?

But yeah. No opinion on the drama or whether or not old files should’ve been replaced. But the new VA sounds great to me.

What on earth are you talking about? I literally just told you that John Boyega and Kelly Marie Tran had their roles side-lined/axed because of conservative influences. I literally just told you that Chris Pratt, a conservative actor, is contiuing to work with Disney despite his fairly blatant conservative status, since he doesn’t even show up at events promoting progressive causes that are organized by his own co-stars.

And you still doubt everything and believe Gina was unfairly treated/targeted because she was a conservative?

The entire history of Disney is pro-conservative. Walt Disney was one of the biggest conservatives in America during his time. His cartoons were constantly pushing conservative narratives that were popular at the time. There’s evidence all over the place that conservative values are accepted and even valued within Disney.

One conservative got canned because she kept breaking the rules. That’s the truth.

Uh, no actually he was quite upset about it, and I love how you try to play it off as if race had nothing to do with it. Kind of like how Black Panther’s poster in China had the mask on where everywhere else it is off.

Don’t even try to gaslight here dude. It won’t go well for you.

LMAO okay, now I know you’re just gaslighting.

FACT: Gina was targeted for twitter posts that were of similar nature and even less inflammatory than Pedro Pascals

FACT: Lucasfilm has been going after independent content creators such as Nerdrotic and Geeks and Gamers because they don’t like The Last Jedi and refuse to subscribe to Disney’s new woke agenda.

FACT: Kathleen Kennedy has run Star Wars into the ground.

You are a partisan hack dude. Look in the mirror

Uhh, no he wasn’t…

However the poster did not really bother the for British actor. Boyega first became aware of the poster through social media.

“This poster in China was a big thing that only got in to my attention through social media,” Boyega said. “A lot of people were showing me this poster and I remember looking at it and they made me tiny in it. They made everybody else big.”

The 26-year-old actor said the response was, “you stupid racist people, man, who are just operating on 0.1% of your brain power. That’s how you see things based on how much melanin is in someone’s skin.”

Boyega was instead confident that the success of Star Wars would make the controversy redundant.

“For me, I was like, “it’s whatever.,”” he said. “I didn’t really even fixate on it. It don’t matter how small you want to put someone on the poster, a lot of people are going to see Star Wars. My black face is going to be running throughout that whole thing.”

Try again for a dollar?

I mean the fact that you’re using the term ‘woke’ clearly tells me you’re probably someone who would enjoy content that folks like the Quartering put out, so by that alone anything you say is worthless to me. But hey, keep ignoring those facts if it makes you feel better.

As for your ‘facts’ none of them are actually true. But facts don’t really seem to matter to folks like you unless they’re facts you agree with.

It’s not the first time Boyega has been deleted from a China-based ad. He played a leading role as Finn in 2015′s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” but he and other non-white characters were removed or diminished from a Chinese poster for the blockbuster movie.

Boyega recently told GQ that Black characters have been “pushed to the side” in Disney’s “Star Wars” franchise. In June, the star made an emotional speech on racism when he joined Black Lives Matter protests in London.

Quote from the AP there two years after your 2018 article dude. And yes, you are gaslighting and the facts I listed are true no matter how much you want to deny it.

Ah, and I see you’re one of those people who get triggered from The Quartering. I suppose you hate Tim Pool as well. Yeah, I can tell what type of intolerant person you are. I’m done with you dude, you are one of those people who spends their entire time on twitter trying to cancel people.

Yeah okay dude, just ignore his actual words about the poster and bring up something completely irrelevant to the poster in an attempt to ‘prove’ your argument.

That ‘pushed to the side’ comment, was not about the poster, it was about how his character Finn had his role reduced in movies after the release of the Force Awakens. And his speech on racism wasn’t even about Star Wars.

Like seriously dude, if this is how you’re going to debate, you’ve already lost. You can’t prove that he was pissed about the poster, I’ve literally got quotes from him where he says it isn’t a big deal. So shove off with the attempt to twist this into something it isn’t. Now if you want to talk about how Finn was sidelined in future movies and how it was a poor show from Disney/Lucasfilm to react to racism from the Star Wars community, then okay, we can discuss that, because it’s a serious matter that John Boyega has actually gotten upset about.

But he has not gotten upset about the poster that you claimed he was ‘outraged’ about.

(quietly wonders if GD really needed yet another thread about this topic)

Yeah I didn’t understand why we needed two threads on this topic either, but apparently folks on GD think that if they make enough threads they’ll get more attention.

So…Am I the only who likes it? Kinda sounds similar from the little I heard.
