So to have extended grip range… it is a choice node with our stun/silence…
Death’s Reach is now a choice node against Asphyxiate, from updated alpha changes today.

Oh god… ![]()
That’s bad. That’s REALLY bad.
If that’s where they put it then yes, massive nerf. 40 yd grip is very powerful. Worth giving up for strang though? Unlikely. Blizzard are aware of its power and a really sneaky way of removing it completely is to make it a choice node with something nearly auto pick.
It’s very devious and backhanded. Poor show.
I wish they would just own their changes. ‘Talent x has been removed because we felt it was too strong’ ok fine, anything to compensate for that? It’s not like they are shy about nerfing DK in PvP.
Yea, only way this is saved is if silence no longer requires the stun to take.
That would make Strangulate a mandatory talent and even then… that still doesn’t sound great.
Making Asphyxiate/Death’s Reach mutually exclusive is a very asinine decision.
Oh I agree 100%.
If Asphyx is still required for Strangulate, losing 10 yards on grip isn’t a gamebreaker.
Just gotta get slick with closing that 10 yd gap. Maybe Death’s Advance speed burst to quick juke and pull healer into the blender when he comes out for that first cast.
At least it’s slightly less obvious than Rets coming in for the HoJ
.
That’s wild changes for dks. Literally gonna make it impossible to go toe to toe towards magic users for melees / casters and healers.
When I saw this i litterally shook my head and sighed.
It looks like they’re trying to cut down some of the availability of CC across the board, and CC DRs will get hit a lot faster in PvP.
I’d worry more about DK’s fragility against Phys in general, tbh.
