If you can keep your death count in the single-digits/ LOW single digits, then yes, Tyr = Fort.
Most players aren’t that good.
So for your average Fort run, if you have some wipes on trash, it’s ok, you’ll still time it. If you have some wipes on the boss, it’s ok, you’ll still time it.
But on Tyr, if you have some wipes on trash, it’s ok, you’ll still time it. But if you wipe on a boss? It’s over. Bricked Key. Because they simply take too long.
It’s why before Blizzard mandated that we had to run BOTH Tyr and Fort for score, everyone took Tyr weeks off!! This isn’t such ancient history that you could forget this already. People only played Tyr to practice or other ancillary reasons. For the most part, everyone skipped Tyr weeks because … they suck.
But I’ll reiterate the larger truth because I’m sure it will get ignored: if you can keep your overall death count low for the group-- it doesn’t matter. It only matters for 95% of groups who are going to have 2-5+ wipes. But it specifically matters on boss fights on Tyr weeks: if you wipe on a boss, your Key is dead.

Afflicted is probably the worst-designed affix when you consider the healing and dispel requirements in many DF dungeons. It basically requires you to bring DPS or tanks who can dispel and if you’re in a pug you pray that they actually do it. Your dps friends play lock, hunter, warrior, havoc? Sorry, one of you has to sit so we can bring another dispel. Warriors get double-punished not having a CC for incorporeal either. These affixes are pathetic.
The dungeons are complex enough. No need to have things like afflicted when bosses like Deios or Kyrakka exist.

Can’t pay me enough to heal a PUG don’t care if it means no M+ for me anymore randoms just omg they’re a nightmare especially the DPS that don’t wanna do mechanics and then blame you when they die.

I hate tyrannical. Despise it even.

Just make a premade group dummy. It’s so easy. All you have to do is make friends and play at a dedicated time.
So easy.

on the bright side they “listened” to the players and removed timers from low level keys.
Yeah tyrannical is easier until the mechanic just trucks you without much countermeasure, mostly from unavoidable mechanics like 3rd boss Halls, or last boss Uldaman.

idk man. waiting 20 minutes over not doing it at all seems a lot better to me. you do you though.
“people aren’t accepting me waaaaaah”
“I don’t want to do it myself waaaaah”
clown behavior.

Because of wyrm farm but that’s gonna change.

Not really gatekeeping, just bad design. Right now the highest geared and lowest geared players all need wyrm crests. That pushes a lot of low geared players out of +2’s. You see 515 ilvl dps in the 2’s queue alongside 480 players. Running your own key and waiting really is the best option.
I hate healing them, as soon as swiftmend is on cd then I am stuck using regrowth and rejuv and that takes forever. aure i could use flourish and convoke but its a waste

Every Wednesday I run dungeons or raids with the guild.
LFG should be the last resort for most if not all players.
Tyrannical is more of a pain to me on this healer than on my dps. A lot of people don’t use defensives

Tyrannical causes far too many cycles of boss mechanics. Many of those boss mechanics have unavoidable damage that really hurts unless you have a defensive. Many classes only have 1 or 2 defensive abilities and most are on longer cooldown than those boss cycles.
Tyrannical is trash.

A queue is a single-file line. When you get to the front of the line, the next spot goes to you.
That isn’t how LFG M+ works.
You could be waiting for somebody to pick you for 10 hours and never get picked. If you’re in an actual queue, you will get picked eventually.

No idea what it’s like this season as I’ve been playing remix; my experience in previous seasons before the key squish was that dps in the 2-15 range often had no clue what the boss mechanics actually were (possibly due to previous groups doing mechs for them or not seeing mechs on fort weeks)
Aside from a handful of bosses that hit really hard and need me to rotate all my tank cds, fortified had always been easier. Possibly because it’s more forgiving or because in inexperienced groups the consensus is “tank and heals have got this I just need to blast”
it’s just a boring affix imo…I’d rather just see more phased boss encounters in dungeons if they want to make them more interesting (like the 3rd boss in Galakrond’s Fall).
Fighting a boss with 2 mechanics for a long time feels really gross…I immediately think of the Tyrannical version of some of the Halls of Valor bosses whenever the Tyrannical discussion comes about…yeah no thanks.
It is that easy. Why is it so hard for you to make friends?
nah i went to cata classic retail is just bad game design i stopped m+ in wwek 1
