So the burning of Teldrassil wasn’t too bad a thing? The possibility of Tyrande being killed off?
The recent Horde writing has been really bad (villain batted back to back!), the human-side Alliance have lost all character to them…a lot of people are upset with the writing. It’s great you like it but a lot of other people don’t. I just don’t think getting into roleplay-ish faction arguments is constructive when talking about the story or gameplay at large.

The writers will have Sylvanas redeemed and tell Tyrande and the entire night elf race to “stop obsessing over your genocide, Sylvanas was right, the upcoming war between light and dark is more important and the tree and the people in it were void-infested anyway”.
Hell they could go all the way and make Elune a void lord raid boss. Everyone kills Elune, Night Elf culture is a lie, Anduin is right. The end. Just because it’s dramatic doesn’t mean it’s good.
Whatever though I don’t want to talk about this anymore. It’s a clear difference in opinion over the story.

Sylvanas and Anduin are writer’s pet characters. I don’t want it to happen, maybe Blizzard saw how low the view of BFA is and will make SL the “comeback xpac”, but this is Starcraft II/Warcraft 3: Reforged Blizzard now. Yes, I’m being hyperbolic, but I wouldn’t be shocked like I think some on the writers team would think if it happened, them trying to “subvert expectations” or something.
It’a a shame, the small-scale writing is usually pretty good.

Yes of course they are okay with genocide. Kerrigan killed billions and then was redeemed and turned into a god in SC. Why do you think Sylvanas says she is going to “free us all”? A pet character can easily commit genocide and then come out as the good guy at the end, it’s made pretty clear she is getting redeemed in SL.

This. It’s edgelord/GoT season 8-esque writing. All shock value and “subversion of expectations” because they don’t want us figuring out the plot. It’s very simple writing and not some complex agenda that takes 18 chalkboards to lay out.
If they actually don’t go through with this, well then I’ll give them credit where it’s do. There are a few signs SL could be the comeback xpac, but we’ll have to see. And I will give the smaller-scale writers credit, those stories can be pretty good.
Edit: condensing my previous post: there is no political “woke” conspiracy that seeks to genocide night elves and force the players to play gay characters and I don’t know why people keep getting upset about tiny little things. There’s probably backlash even for added skin tone selections for humans. This kind of discussion about politics isn’t constructive and it gives ammunition for legitimate grievances about the story direction or gameplay/class design choices to be ignored. Keep things video game related.

At the time they really didn’t seem to think the genocide was even a big deal, that is why the only night elf story in bfa other than WoT was the night warrior scenario before the stalemate warfront (a warfront that never got an in-game conclusion).
So yeah, unless they are being called on it, they are more than happy to be okay with genocide. It seems the only reason Tyrande has stuff now is because people have called them out on it so much.
It’s like why would Tyrande be so concerned about killing Sylvanas now when she wouldn’t even show up to kill Sylvanas in 8.2.5? It’s because they didn’t bother to think about the story of the people that had a genocide committed against them at the start of the expansion. Shandris barely even talks about it throughout the war campaign and when she does it’s just subtly. In SL tyrande just jumps through the portal and then disappears until the max level questing locked behind ardenweld. The genocide was literally not seen as a big deal outside of making Saurfang sad and getting Anduin to actually do something.
But anyway, yes I can’t see them doing anything other than a redemption story here for Sylvanas and then maybe Tyrande dies or is then considered “crazy” and needs to be re-educated.

There are tons of politics about it Like yeah right most of those people want nelf supremacy. I want the horde to ask for forgiveness, I want tyrande to kill sylvanas thats that, but people like most nelves here want the horde to bow to the nelves, they want the whole alliance to bend the knee to the nelves, its annoying, I play alliance to be in a ALLIANCE

I don’t see the point in her lying to a defeated Bolvar. But what would you be saying after Sylvanas gets redeemed?

then you dont understand the character, sylvanas thinks she is doing what is best for everyone, so far she has missed that mark, you know why? If you read the books, you would understand that she is completely out of touch with everyone, she could literally have everything she lost in death, but she pushes everyone away from herself cause she is crazy She doesnt understand the living anymore, she doesnt even understand the undead anymore either.
Being out of touch doesn’t mean she’s lying there. The redemption is so obvious even you kind of believe it’s coming:
We can all see it’s going to be “oh but if Sylvanas didn’t do this everyone would just go to the Maw and the SL would be completely taken over by it”. So then after she gets redeemed here you can finally admit blizzard is “100% ok with genocide” even ignoring SC.

I just want to be a free agent and quest wherever I want and kill whoever I want like in so, so many other games. We should have the option to be unbound from factions in the future. Not saying get rid of the factions of course, but this could very much free the player from the choices of faction characters. Like as a DK I feel closer to my class than the Alliance. Right now we are defined by the choices not of our characters, but of canon bigshots like Anduin, Sylvanas, Thrall, Jaina, etc
