I don’t see how saying: “We do not intend to be slaves to the Nightwell. We seek to drive the Legion from Suramar and put an end to Elisande’s oppression.” is 'Acting like Tyrande just peed in her cheerios’
Tyrande responded to her response, like Thalyssra had just peed in her cheerios by stating immediately after: “The Kaldorei will fight to see the Legion defeated and the Nightwell destroyed. Beyond that… we shall see where Elune’s wisdom guides us.”
Basically stating “We don’t care whether you want or need the Nightwell to survive. We will destroy it. Then see if fate deems you & your ilk-kind allowable.”
Atop of which, whilst outside the city of Suramar she stated to Horde players: “When I let you take the Tears of Elune, I assumed the next time we would see each other would be at the final battle with the Legion. I did not expect to see you in the company of Mana Addicts at the footsteps of the city of my birth. Speak quickly, <race> I am not in the mood for Thalyssra’s petitions.”
She was veryxenophobic (Always has been overall) of the Nightborne and consistently treated them like trash. Tyrande asked a valid question yes, but when a valid answer was provided - She acted in response like an absolute dictator.
The only reason the Highborne & Magi were able to join their ranks (And under close watch & monitoring too) was because their leader Archmage Mordent Evenshadeconstantly pestered Tyrande about it, and basically flipped off any Nightelf that gave him sass (As seen with his conversation with Sentinel Stillbough ) Hence why he’s one of my favourite lore-characters. She only ultimately agreed to allow him & his people refuge because at the time they needed their support from the oppression and siege pushed aggressively by Garrosh at the time – And Tyrande hates the Hordemore than she does the Highborne. She didn’t allow them under refuge or Alliance ‘Out of Kindness’ or good will of her heart, it was out of Pure. Unadulterated. Spite, Necessity and Hatred.
If I was Thaylssra and I had to choose between Lor’Themar who is accepting to continue revered traditions & understands the struggles and complications of Magic, or Tyrande who seeks out to destroy anything she disagrees with, and snobs at Thalyssra’s race as a lesser people like she did with the Highborne. Well then I feel it’s rather obvious that:
Heck Yes!
– I am siding with Lor’Themar & whoever his affiliations are with - 10/10, lol.
Radiation isn’t toxic, chemicals that have a significant adverse effect on biological functions and/or structures due to their reactive properties are.
They are in Warcraft. The Highborne were cast out of Night Elf society and the majority of them left to become Quel’dorei, while the ones in Suramar stayed in their bubble and turned into Nightborne. Only the ones that went south to Dire Maul stayed genetically night elf.
I’d like to make a statement about this comment only. I’m not saying any of your points are wrong nor am I disagreeing. I’m just pointing out a small tidbit.
Keep in mind that they were already free of having to survive off of the Nightwell. We grew the Arcan’dor already. So they were safe from withering.
Want? Perhaps. Need for survival? Not anymore! Yay for tree!
None of this infers they are a different race though? The Highborne are a product of Night elf society that spans thousands of years. This cultural hierarchy is one that developed within their culture, one they abided until the legion was introduced. It was this “kinship” that eventually led many of the Highborne to betray Aszhara, and played a huge role in saving Tyrande from the legion.
There’s a quote stating that the Arcan’dor tree can only generate so much fruit at a time. They were using reserves of Arc-Wine that had been kept away to sate their people until they’re able to distribute the fruit in portions to all of them.
So at the time they may have needed. But ultimately, yes you are correct.
To be fair; the Highborne allowed back into Night Elf society are not the same ones who Noped out of the world 10,000 years ago and hid under a dome while the rest of the world went careening like a drunken sailor from one existential crisis to another.
Eh… that’s a slippery slope to argue. I see what you’re saying, but as it stands right now…
Highborne are Night Elves.
Nightborne are a separate race.
Blood Elves and High Elves are are a separate race.
We don’t call Nightborne by the name Highborne. Nor do we call Belfs former Highborne. They’re different races now. Highborne is just the title of the magic caste of Nelfs.
Edit: also keep in mind, the Shen’dralar weren’t tossed out, they were always in Eldre’thalas and just never left.
That’s fair, but Tyrande’s suspicions didn’t revolve around the prospect that they might go and “run and hide” like they had previously done, but rather whether or not they might turn to corruption like Azshara and Elisande. Which can be said for the very Highborne she allowed back into their society.
Tyrande: “Okay now, Azshara had issues with drugs and it made her abusive boyfriend come and wreck the place. And Elisande made friends with Azshara’s abusive boyfriend’s buddies, and they came and wrecked the place. I’m sensing a pattern here. Can I trust you not to do that?”
Thalyssra: “YOU’RE SO MEAN! I’m gonna go hang out with Liadrin, she’s been addicted to drugs and bad boyfriends too, you just want to oppress me!”
Later on…
Thalyssra, seeing what Sylvanas has done with all the genociding: “I may have acted rashly… Now I see what Tyrande meant about wrecking up the place… Good thing Lor’Themar is a hottie…”
True, and it’s rare moment of disagreement I have with our High Priestess. We shouldn’t have let them back in, and we should have left arcane magic alone.
Yes, but it’s a fact that most of the Highborne became a different species because elves are actually all Eevees that morph if you show them the right Well. People like to try and blame the night elves for Azshara, but the elite caste of night elves that propped her up are literally no longer even the same race.
Also this is a Tyierin thread so there’s no point in giving it a modicum of seriousness. But here we are anyways.
Tyrande: Thalyssra, we of the alliance have provided countless troops and spent ample resources fighting your battles for you, curing your entire race of it’s blight and placing you on the trone of Suramar. How do we know though that you won’t become like all the others before you though? Can we trust you?
Thalyssra: I have been SCORNED! How can I possibly be expected to work alongside such judgemental, vile, and selfish people? I should destroy everything she and her people hold dear, that will show her she was wrong.
You are really reaching and implanting your own opinion in there big time.
100% opinion there, you can’t use your own opinion on things and claim that was what she meant.
All Elves other than the few that hooked up with Humans are xenophobic. Every NPC that is voiced uses your race name or class this again is you pushing your opinion as fact.
Microwave the frosting on 50% power until slightly runny (about 30-40 seconds). Stir in peppermint extract and gel coloring. You want to make the frosting a little darker than you want the fudge as the white chocolate chips will lighten it.
Microwave the white chocolate chips on 50% power stirring every 30 seconds until almost completely melted.
Gently stir the melts and the frosting together and spread into prepared pan. Add sprinkles if desired. Refrigerate 30 minutes and cut into squares or with cookie cutters.
In this size pan, the fudge pieces are about 5/8" thick. If you’d like a thicker fudge, you can double the recipe.
