It is the best one since Legion, but all the expacs since Legion have been worse than abysmal from a narrative experience.
I had very high expectations going into this expac because of the Metzen and Saga hype.
This feels only marginally better than what we’ve been getting, with so many repeated tropes.
There’s still plenty of time for them to earn your praise. I hope they do, and that you’ll come around to finding the story compelling and engaging as I do now, and in the end, favorable as you look back on it. 
I’m not done with the story yet.
But they did do nothing whenever they’ve been around.
And Alleria and this stupid solo revenge arc where she spontaneously shows up and then void portals away at stupid times is about all we get for the overarching story.
The earthen are moderately interesting but even the tropes therein are tired and uninspired. How shocking that Baelgrim suicide bombed and handed everything over to the anti-traditionalists!

They also recognized that a few things needed to change, however. Focusing on directives given by “gods” that had long since abandoned them was not sustainable.
Damnable blizzard, what with writing a narrative that involves one primary antagonist and one central protagonist. Lazy writing, lazy lazy.

When the “main protagonist” is off doing their own revenge arc, never around to help with the stuff we are actually doing when we play, yeah, it is.

Opinion on story. Leveling to 100 was probably the bright spot though.
I can say that the story ive played through so far hasn’t been very enjoyable for stated reasons, even if I havent finished the whole story yet.
I should be enjoying the story if ive been playing it and doing all the side quests for like 15 hours.
You should have seen Anduin doing many things then unless you somehow haven’t even glance at the 3rd zone yet

Tradition, their edicts, is no longer a luxury they can afford when the fate of the entirety of Azeroth hangs in the balance. And who set those edicts? The very same beings who prepared a colossal machine meant to genocide the Earthen if they ever sought free will. To hell with tradition if it means being a slave to the will of the Titans.

I love Alleria. Not sure how they are to make the main protagonists more prominent. From what I’ve seen, Blizzard gets bad feedback whenever they try to add any amount of depth to a character – look at Anduin. I don’t know what the players want lol.

Metzen is just a guy. He collects his paycheck like everyone else. The part of a interview with him that i saw, he didn’t seem that stoked. Besides do you remember how annoying green jesus was?
