YOU’RE the one changing it by now qualifying it with “i’m a tank”
hurr durr someone had to get that key for you to “jump in to 7”
so why are you in a thread talking about how 1-6 is a “waste of time” when you can gear up by an npc carrying you and then be “in demand” because people don’t want to wait for tanks.
they’re not picking you because of your ilvl OR your m+ score. but obviously when you start a group and 100 dps sign up, you pick the highest ilvl/m+ score.
people who wanted “solo progression” in delves now befuddled by having to do group progression to upgrade their pointless gear. have fun filling the delve bar to unlock 580 warband gear and dirigible cosmetics i guess?
Because im pointing out how this was something that was going to happen, the moment they introduced the scale change to M+, along with the items that drop in delves. Im here because i had been saying this was going to happen day the first, and now im giggling at people who are shocked it happened.
That’s the literal definition of a roadblock, having to go around something blocking the way to your destination. And it also highlights how flawed the entire rating system is. Having a high rating no more guarantees that you will be good at a dungeon than having high ilvl or any other similar marker seeing as all of them can quite literally be bought. At the end of the day you’re always taking a chance when grouping with someone you don’t know so having these artificial gateposts serves no real purpose. Unless of course you take the cynical view that it’s all there solely to encourage WoW token sales.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone use “roadblock” to describe something that is pretty easily overcome. Usually people describe a roadblock as something that outright prohibits your path forward. It’s more like a speedbump.
Regardless of the nomenclature used, I don’t think having to do some m+ that you outgear in order to get rating is that big of a deal. I’d rather have that than it be difficult to acquire gear.
But that’s just my point. I didn’t “bypass” them because M+ wasn’t available, only delves were. So I did the only endgame activity that was available at the time and now I am effectively getting punished for it by not being able to pick up where I left off because of a meaningless rating system. The transition from T8 delves to M7+ dungeons should have been a smooth one because those are the gear breakpoints that Blizzard themselves decided on. However, it hasn’t been and I am, rightly, pointing out how frustrating that is.
It’s not “hyperbolic” it’s anecdotal, that has been my experience. Of course, yours might differ.
You need to prove you can do a +5/6 in a dungeon before someone will invite you into a 7. Even then with carries and whatnot, can’t be sure you’re getting a player that doesn’t stand in fire the whole time.
The solution is same for every other grouped content of course, and that’s to make your own group. Need to finish a 5 or 6 to get a 7 key though…
“A lot more people are running heroic raids because they have the gear and they don’t know what to do in it because they’re new to it”
OP this is a good thing, raid participation increasing is a good thing. It’s fine if people don’t know what to do because they’re new, give it time for them to figure it out, the raid has only been out for like what, a week or 2? Relax.
LOL! If anything we are the ones carrying Brann. His AI is so messed up and he has, and continues to be, so bugged and unreliable that most of the time he’s more of a hindrance than any actual help.
Yes, the map thingies that guarantees an extra end chest from delves just gave 1/6 helm from a level 8 delve. The other one came from vault. From doing delves.
And right now my vault has 2x 606 from M+ and 2x 616 from delves.
Oh I completely agree. You don’t outgear the difficulty, just the rewards, and that’s a huge part of the problem. Right now the rewards from virtually all types of content are completely disproportionate to their respective level of difficulty. Delves are too easy and reward too high level gear (and that’s intentional because otherwise no one would do them). M+ dungeons are too hard and reward too low level gear. LFR and Normal are about right but they’re already obsolete for any but the most casual players and Heroic is over-designed as usual. Hence the conundrum I was referencing in my OP.
I more-so meant the third party IO system people abuse for M+ is terrible but yes I did keep playing to get my third slot vault reward that I didn’t end up taking, and there lies human folly lol
