Two questions about game direction

5 player heroics were made a fair bit harder than people were used to in WotLK, and it got a ton of complaints about it.

So basically, a Burning Crusade-like game (with transmog).

no, even bc balance wasn’t enough for people. heck people still cry about retail balance.

I think both WoW and the old school EQ style MMO peaked with wrath. Wrath got the formula probably as close to right as possible between the world in northrend, class balance and itemization, raids, non raid content, there was a ton of stuff for people at all spectrums of play to do.

I don’t think the MMO Genre is dead but I do think the old school style is dying, in general it’s just not nearly as appealing as it used to be and is dire need of someone to try something new. Look at a couple major titles that tried to either recapture the hardcore style(Wildstar) or were just blatant WoW clones(TOR). Regardless of how well done they were and TOR was actually pretty well done and from a franchise even bigger than warcraft they simply couldn’t succeed in modern gaming.

Probably not. Look at Wildstar.

Again, probably not
