You’d be right if their theme wasn’t literally just “Old-god, but boring”.
Which was already taken by Priests, but at least priests lore has been expanded on, whereas Void Elves are still going strong with 2 years of 0 lore.
One of them is about to become horde, I call that a win.
I think this expansion had a lot of cut content which just happened to cut out their lore.
There is lots of empty space in the rift which you can totally and easily get to, and the datamined but clearly cancelled sivermoon warfront

But yeah, the Void Elves barely even exist as a race because they have very little lore. We know little to nothing about them outside of that scenario to unlock them which is a shame because the concept is cool but there’s just nothing there except them looking pretty.

Only the elf lovers and anime furry race lovers matter, apparently.
How many people love animals in real life, have pets…doesn’t mean they have any connection to ‘anime’…or ‘furries’.
These threads are the best, most Alliance players praise the Vulpera and most Horde players praise the Mechagnomes.
If I was a Dev I would post a blog post saying that both were going to be delayed and changes are being made to make Mechagnomes Horde and Vulpera Alliance so everyone would be happy, only to see the sky falling. 
That would be so fun to watch.
This forum gives me more entertainment than the actual game.

I’m an altaholic and I like to have at least one of every race, but I’m having a difficulty with deciding on a mechagnome. A lot of the mecha options aren’t too appealing to me though I like the hairstyles. Transmog sets with pants or just pants in general look bad because of the “diaper” with robes the best way to avoid it. In addition, none of the classes really seem to fit the theme. Maybe hunter and warrior? Tinker seems like the only thing logical, but who knows if it will ever be an option.
I see you never played Alliance before.
Those races have been the most highly requested next to Naga from the Alliance since for ever.

I’m going to be making one character for each race. Think outlaw rogue for Vulpera and fire mage or protection warrior for mechagnome.

I’d be disappointed with the alliance allied race but I’m too hyped for void elf dk to care! 
Don’t want diaper? Play a caster, the robe got you covered.
Truthfully I am far more hyped for mechagnomes. I’m going to hop on my alliance alt and do that and I probably won’t even start a Vulpera. The gnomes have solid lore and aren’t a furred race.

I would almost go back Alliance just to be a Mechagnome. I don’t know why you guys (Alliance players) aren’t more excited for them. Honestly, I’m not sure why you guys hate Gnomes so much period. When I was Alliance I played Gnome because they are so cute…every toon that could be one was one! And I immediately switched my Hunter to Gnome as soon as they could be Gnomes! Every toon I still have on Alliance, save one, is a Gnome still (one is a VE for the Heritage Armor). I’m totally gonna have a Mechagnome alt! 
But… I love the cute little Vulpera too. They are super cute for sure!
