That seems to indicate that at some point they will pull mod support from the Twitch app and move over to their new Overwolf version. But they did mention you would still be able to manually update mods by visiting the Curseforge site itself.

The Curseforge website will stay exactly the same, and the mod manager will leave the Twitch client and become a dedicated CurseForge app for PC and Mac.
