I understand, correction/adjustment of the power creep between Low and High would have been the correct method of bettering the lower brackets.
As it is currently,
Gear has the same strength as pre-separation.
Strong Specs are the same.
Healer Cap has been removed, we are met with terrible matchmaking.
Adjustments between High and Low is doable, games would be better for it IMO.
Yeah we tried various ways but couldnât get it to pop.4 hours was the record waiting lol
Sad really but the rules were set. I guess thatâs why party sync was created to help with the reduction in queue pop (normal battleground) and those who like to min max ( semi twink)
I donât mind sync. I know a lot of people complain about it, but I think it mainly impacts 119âs where it needs tuning. Iâve never had issue with sync in lower brackets. Kinda funny really. People come in on sync and think they are going to roll 39âs. Instead, they get wrecked. Probably confuses the hell out of them.
its not worth it TO YOU. if leveling fast is the point you shouldnât be running bgâs. bgâs are for pvp. getting xp in them is a bonus not the point. is weird you talk about replacing gear when at 120 thats the entire point of the game.im not even talking about gearing bis to twink but you seem to have an issue with any turning off xp while leveling?
Many twinks will farm for days for one item because it will be useful for a long time if not forever. Do you imagine that many people would do the same thing for the same item if it were only useful to them for 4 hours? This isnât a ME thing, man. I realize that I canât speak for others but Iâm sure you can take a step back and look at this thing logically.
Content patches come along to make your gear obsolete once every couple of months.
Players level out of a bracket once every couple of hours.
if youâre leveling via pvp you cant just put it on auto pilot, click join bg and start caring once you hit 120. i mean its allowed but youâll have more fun not getting one shot.
Can we all at least agree that if you want to level via battlegrounds, that some effort into your gear would be appreciated? And not to be a quitter?
These days, is enchanted heirlooms that much to ask for? Are quest greens/blue/epics procs from around your level in the non-heirloom slots too much to ask for?
The low level class imbalance thing, yeah, it is what it is, just gotta deal.
59âs had exp off wargames. I donât think we could get exp off queues to pop either but organized wargames were a thing for awhile. It was fun but who wants to be so restricted on when they can queue and how they can play? Not always easy to balance teams and sadly some people didnât care if teams were balanced.
Had a guy getting mad cause we wanted to swap some experienced players to one side to balance it out lol. Unless games are at least close people will get frustrated, leave, and then no one gets games. Some twinks are very experienced at pvp while others are⌠not. Got everyone to listen in discord but getting them to speak up could be a challenge.
Kept games going for like a month. Not every day but most days weâd get in at least 3 games. We had fun while it lasted.
Eh it was better than after template removal. The gear disparity was nuts in 8.0 on twinks.
I donât remember seeing any threads on legion (probably was but waaaaayyyy more rare for sure). There was a stupid new twinks thread every second day after the removal.
Iâd even go as far as introducing compulsory Character Audit to join instanced PvP. Do any of us remember there used to be Character Audit in Armory? Which if clicked would run your character against a checklist:
Missing Slots
Wrong Gear Type (e.g. leather on a warrior)
Unenchanted Gear
Missing sockets (if your equipped gear has sockets but no gems in it)
etcâŚ
I would totally love a mandatory Character Audit when a player queues for a PvP instance via a group finder tool.
Yes, I am serious. There is no excuse not to meet the quality standards expected by any team who actually cares about winning the PvP match, or at least ensure they have tried their best to. As a minimum, I would expect this to be met:
Missing Slots
No excuse mate. Just no excuse at all, even if you are f2p trial account. And while not meeting the other Character Audit feedback points can be listed as a warning and wouldnât prevent queuing, having those points displayed would provide a valuable feedback to queuing players about which points of their character needs work. I also understand that f2p players on trial accounts would have a hard time meeting unenchanted gear part for example, so Iâm reluctantly willing to put some Character Audit points as optional.
But even as optional points, for paid accounts there is absolutely no excuse not to:
browse auction house >
search for âenchant bracerâ, âenchant glovesâ, âencant xyzâ, âarmor kitâ >
specify enchantment level >
sort by price lowest to highest >
buy the cheapest enchant (or not the cheapest one if you want to perform better)
same thing with gems:
browse auction house >
select gem colour >
specify gem level >
sort by price lowest to highest >
buy the cheapest gems (or not the cheapest one if you want to perform better)
You can even buy light armor kits +1 armor for goodness sake. They cost like under 1 gold on most realms. But it will teach players to develop good habits of improving their gear early. Because if you are joining a fast paced bloodbath which PvP instances are, kindly fit the expectations of your team.
It is not a duel.
Others depend on your performance to achieve their objectives.
So if the Character Audit is introduced, and you show up in battleground with missing slots, I would know you have those slots in the bag, you just unequipped them on purpose. And you will no longer have the BS excuse of âI donât have the gear yet, jeez man chill, take is easy, Iâm working on itâ.
NO.
It is not good enough, mate.
The time to âwork on itâ was before joining the meat grinder! When you show up with 6 missing slots, and other 6 slots are common gear, I know you are going to S@CK! And you know you are going to S@CK! So if we both know that will be the case, WHY ARE YOU QUEUEING? If you are expecting the other team will be even worse geared, you do not understand what PvP is about. It is not about how bad you lose and still queue up to lose some more. This is what s@ckers do. PvP is about doing the absolute best you can, and then doing a little bit better. THIS IS HOW WINNERS ARE MADE.
So to sum it up, I would rather have a longer wait and less PvP games, but a higher quality ones. Where my teammates are not getting 1 shotted. And I do not 1 shot people either! There, I said it. I am legitimately tired of farming graveyards. If you get 1 shoted repeatedly when you join a battleground, stop it. Get some help. There are tons of dungeon groups running 24/7 to get you up to standard. There are item search resources on the web that will help you to find the gear that is best for your current spec/role/character level, etc.
There is no excuse to show up unprepared, because if you are unprepared we know you are going to underperform. And if you are underperforming, you deserve a swift votekick. And that is not team being nasty. It is you not fitting in.
So if you want to PvP with us, would it not be much better to let you know our expectation upfront instead of us having to boot you out of PvP instance when you do not meet those expectations and give you a deserter debuff, hmm?
