I have no idea what your point is. Personal experience is personal experience. It means jack all. I don’t see how you can argue how a twinks is more than any other person.
Like what? You’ve never met helpful people elsewhere?
Blizz. I already explained that. Pvp gearing was encouraged, in fact set up to be that way. Now the system is corruptions. Set up to be that way. Same old story, same old song and dance.
They hate it for different reasons. Some hate it because it’s rng drop. Some hate it because lolprockillnoskillpwn. Some hate it because it obliterates true gear values (players strap on lesser ilvls in favor of corruptions). Some hate the grind to get it. Some hate that it makes imba classes/specs even more ridiculous and unmanageable. Some hate it for all the above!
You’ll say that we’re lazy for not gearing to win.
We’ll say it isn’t reasonable to expect levelers to have to choose between rising to the standard of people who turn their experience off and farm dungeons for the best of the best gear for every bracket on the way to max level… or getting crushed.
Then you’ll say that BiS gear isn’t even that much better than enchanted heirlooms.
Then we’ll say that the difference is significant, especially bearing in mind that we don’t fill every slot with an heirlooms, the heirloom trinkets are bad, and most don’t have the heirloom rings. We’ll add that the issue worsens when you factor stat weights and how bad crit is compared to, say, vers. We’ll further add that the issue worsens in later brackets where gem sockets are concerned.
Then you’ll say ‘well overtuned specs and premades made things imbalanced too.’
And the conversation will fizzle and we’ll still disagree with one another.
It’s true. We’ve been down this road, Erelir, my friend.
This I don’t expect and never have. I’m reasonable. Gear some. Do some. Try some. Showing up on my BG with whites and empty slots? C’mon now. What’s that about? Cue the crazy worgens of past to tell us how any gear is just impossible and gliders are twink…
I recall when wowhead item search was working properly you could datamine the gear, or see what other twinks were wearing over some time. But you couldn’t mash the buttons like they did. One of my carries was 2.2k and he got that rate on a MacBook using a touchpad… I still can’t figure out how he did it
Now I’m not disagreeing that gearing involves a good share of skill, but I would say that in my opinion yes, the skill is, or more importantly, should be more about button pushing than gearing.
You didn’t say in your experience man. You just made a broad sweeping statement saying they’re all more helpful.
Please point out where you said it was your experience. Regardless, personal experience means jack. Seriously explain to me why they would be any different than litteraly another group of people.
It’s not fake authority. It’s reality. Every group of people has awesome and lame people in it. Religious zealots to atheists. Pro gun people to no gun people. Online to non online.
There is lame and awesome people in every group. Not sure how you can debate that.
And what… Lol
I just can’t… Like I said, there is awesome and lame people in every category. Star is awesome… Others less so… Lol
then if you cant properly prepare for bgs,why are players who do expected to dumb it down to make it easier on you?
ill admit at 110 there is no way for a fresh boost to kill me. they would have 17k hp and id have to be afk. now that same fresh boost with a his HoA and the free AZ piece from the same quest hes looking at closer to 25k hp and an actual chance(they’d still probably need a friend or 2. or 3.) for 15 minutes of effort. you dont even have to turn off your xp to stay in 110 after the quest. would someone who does this would be considered overtuned or twinked to you compared to a zero effort boost? nothing the 110 with bfa and their xp locked loots is really twinking but at 110 you can get 210 dungeon loot with sockets and 3 300 azerite pieces. nothing came from a higher level. no antorus carrys. go one step up and level alchemy/engi for bfa potions and engi belt shield. still nothing from a higher level so is it really twinking?
I can shut my experience off, farm this dungeon or that one until I get what I need, buy and enchant some gear that’ll become obsolete in the next bracket, farm some non-repeatable quests for random epic upgrades…
Then I can take those things into a BG and enjoy it until I level out of a bracket and do it all again for the next bracket. Then the following bracket afterwards.
But I don’t want to. It doesn’t make sense to grind/pay for items that will only serve us for a few hours. Twinks are happy to because the items they get serve them almost indefinitely.
I don’t expect you to ‘dumb anything down’ for us (once again outright implying that twinks are a higher caliber of player and not just better geared). I expect you understand why players either wanted the gear delta managed or to give you your own bracket to play in. It’s no ones fault that there are too few people to get games to pop.
Players would benefit so much more from the former, starting from shorter queue times, and ending with higher median skill because levelers would learn to handle twinks challenge and be more prepared for a max level shock, but Blizzard just went with the latter. Such a bloody waste.
I do this. I do it because it makes me feel satisfied that I acquired it. It makes me feel good that I showed up to serve my team to the best of my ability. And it’s game gold, what’s it good for? Well, it’s there for me to enjoy. See above as to why I enjoy it that way.
However, I don’t expect others to do as I do. All I have ever expected is that you put some effort in. Try. Show up on my BGs with looms and greens. All good. You put some effort in and got some stuff. I’m happily fighting at your side.
Yeeaah, sad state of affairs. The twinks that want twink matches are hard to piece together, and others that aren’t in it to face other twinks aren’t interested.
Wow, I don’t know what to say about this. Really bizarre. Wonder if queues will only operate correctly with a certain player count being met? I really have no idea.
Oh yeah, I forgot to address that comment. No, you absolute muppet, gearing pre-cap doesn’t require skill. Gearing at cap barely requires skill. I could throw a wireless keyboard into my washing machine and clear deadmines seven times before it’s time to put it in the dryer.
Quest grinding, dungeon grinding, and spending at the AH do not require skill. Googling your spec’s stat weights and which gear to get definitely doesn’t take skill. It takes time. That’s an important distinction.
Being well versed in a BG’s different strategies, understanding your class in and out as well as the others, communicating and coordinating well with your team, reacting quickly, minding your cooldowns and enemies’ diminishing returns, etc. (or ‘button pushing,’ as you do eloquently put it), does require skill.
Yep, agreed. I regret having advocated for the separation when I could have just advocated for a narrowing of the gear ceiling and floor via scaling. There are legitimate reasons to twink beyond just Carole Baskining levelers, and that’s something worth preserving.
