i mean if you want to go by population that retail Disney you laugh at absolutly is the most popular version of wow lol.
wow classic has some moments but its mostly nostalgia that allows its to stay alive. the actual content is a joke and most people realize that now. they want to recreate the feelings they had when originally playing in that era but its gone now. thats why they look to private servers, because its not solved content, and the private servers prey upon those feelings with their monetization.

its saying that classic is a nice side project but thats all it is. their real money comes from retail. classic is the vacation home thats nice to visit but not always the greatest place to live. as for their version of classic + it will be interesting to see if they can create an interesting challenge while keeping in the classic framework. that said i dont really care eithier way. retail is my main mode and classic is the fun arcade mode i dabble in when retail is in a lull
Its vice versa for a lot of people. They wont touch retail… its a shame to watch streamers force themselves to play different versions of the game. Fresh SOD anyone? lol HC with 100 different rules? If only retail was actually fun. =)

i mean for a huge chunk of the population it is. i mean if you want any really challenging content you have to go to retail. classic is just a joke thats why the top guilds are about speed running the content not about clearing it.

Its ok.. retail is not for me. Mystic+ (to me at least) was boring when first release and its boring today. Stop with the challenging argument cuz it gets old fast. No one in history has ever said “Im going to play classic anything because its hard”. LOL

no but they have said that the content is so mind numbing that they cant stand it. some people enjoying content that pushes their skills. classic doesnt scratch that itch.
To each their own… some people like the chill vibe of classic/tbc/wraith and can’t stand retail. I mean, you play whatever version is most fun for you… there is no wrong answer. =)

i think there is a fair amount of devs that actually love the product they are producing but honestly i dont think there was a time in memory when blizzard wasnt a money grubbing company. people just have rose tinted glasses of a time when they let the devs have more leeway in the development rather than all the red tape now. red tape i would like to mention that we all are partially responsible for.

But sadly, yes, we share the responsibility of the direction development has taken. The customer has to acknowledge that if they are also going to claim they’re always right.

They should hire the Ascension devs and get rid of the current ones. Game has more passion in it then any current expansion and its monetized so the overlords can roll in it. Zero chance classic+ lives up to it lol

Seriously, though… its not these current devs fault. They were cooking when SOD was released and then got pulled to work on the other versions of wow. Mark my words, if classic+ doesnt have dedicated devs… it will fail or at best be an ok game. I did enjoy the hell out of sod even though we were beta testing it for them. =)
