I wish I could go Venthyr, their characters are all a hoot.
I could listen to Prince Renathal’s sultry voice recite the phone book all day long.

Also they say it unblinkingly self-aware that choosing between character power and story/aesthetic sucks.
The only difference between them and the majority of people who pick the best Covenant is that they prioritize story while others prioritize power.
Why should either party have to sacrifice either one?
Honestly, many abilities on my Priest just felt… boring. A lot of them do I feel. The Night Fae for Priest is the epitome of it, though. It’s almost completely irrelevant and I wonder if it actually has any noticeable mathematical impact… like at all. It’s a bunch of miniscule and almost unnoticeable perks.
Why cant you go Venthyr?
always the pop meta
well duh. my fury warrior is already sad the simulations put him so low… wouldnt wanna be even more of a dead weight in the raid by picking a bad covenant heh.
if my decisions only affected me maybe i wouldve taken another approach but thats just not how it works.
Because the Venthyr Brewmaster ability doesn’t do anything to help tanks.
It does if you’re Spriest. The CD reduction for Voidform is pretty nice.
Venthyr and Necrolords seem like a whole bunch of fun.
Everyone in Bastion is such a downer, whereas your Necrolord buddies are just happy to be involved.
I will never understand people who don’t actually participate in any content remotely competitive who will reply as if they were an authority on the matter, and try and tell people who have legitimate issues with the game’s design that they’re wrong.
That one MvP almost made me have to hold my head in my hands with how much of a lunatic he was sounding like.
You guys assume the majority just choose the best based on guide. Some of them have chosen based on taste. They just happen to take the best covenant for their spec.
and Kyrian are the most noob friendly with their bright zones and being the first you try + a free health potion.
Then night fae for the cute furrie people and butterfly wings.
So what you’re saying is they should remove power from the covenants? Cause it isn’t fun having less power.
This is what the data shows us. I can’t believe what random people say on the internet about anything. Let’s see what happens if/when they buff the Covenants with low % of players. If Necrolord ends up being the best for a lot of specs in the near future and the numbers don’t change much your comment will be true. Until then it’s just an opinion.
The fact is a majority of the player base IS playing their BiS covenants. Whatever the reasoning behind it doesn’t matter at this point, it’s exactly like the #pulltheripcord segment of players predicted would happen.
It also desynchs your CDs, which can actually be bad.
No need, for I am not interested in doing the research just to back up my own perspective on this, though it really is only towards how the “majority” was implied, not saying that it is wrong, but I don’t go just off others word, statistics, and such alone unless I do the work to see if what is being mentioned has some merit to it. If others are going to go based off someone else data alone then that is theirs to do.
Not at all. I have strong confidence that any Brewmaster can read the Venthyr ability and realize, “This does nothing.”
I think that’s taking it a bit too far… For the most part… they’re right. For the vast majority of players, the numerical difference is no where near great enough to actually impact their performance. Simply playing their class better would yield better results.
Heck, we say the exact same thing about classes and specs. There hasn’t been a truly dead spec in a loooong time (well… BfA post-Uldir sub rogues came close… but other than them!).
That being said… the fact of the matter is that most people (I can actually say that now as we actually have numbers to support it) do take SOME consideration into their characters power when making these decisions. As such it’s only logical that most would choose to be more powerful than less.
But if you’re going to argue that choosing Venthyr as a brewmaster will inhibit you from clearing normal and heroic… insertbenderlaughhardermeme
Heck, I chose night fae for my monk… I can guarantee you that I’ll be able to clear norm, heroic, and most of mythic with it in our alt raid where I won’t be being carried.
Me too! Loved the zone and the storyline.
I don’t think the most popular Guardian druid covenant is the best: night fae.
Hilarious that I chose venthyr the least popular covenant. What do I know? I just play 20+ M+ and I think venthyr will be pretty good for pushing very high keys this season and I think the mobility will be good in raid too. Really tanking raids does not require absolute optimal play as its pretty easy.
That being said I think these Guardian druids choose night fae for the looks, that’s it.
Ah see I went for the overall visual aesthetic VS ability.
Like I know Kyrian Weapons of Order is miles ahead of Fallen Order.
I actually was Kyrian, following the meta slave path to where I had 10k anima in the bank and renown 6 with em.
Ended up dipping on Sunday for Venthyr and Im perfectly happy with the choice I’ve made, even more so now then before because Venthyr were the Covenant I wanted from the get go.
It just means you can fit an extra Voidform in before your Power Infusion comes off CD. Publik went over it in his Covenant video.
