True. But also, isn’t it nifty to see the things that have carried through? Like Danath and Kurdran. They still look like that! Kurdran still has those head tattoos!
“On the day I was born
The nurses all gathered 'round
And they gazed in wide wonder
At the joy they had found
The head nurse spoke up
Said, “Leave this one alone”
She could tell right away
That I was bad to the bone
Bad to the bone
Bad to the bone
B-B-B-B-Bad
B-B-B-B-Bad
B-B-B-B-Bad
Bad to the bone
I broke a thousand hearts
Before I met you
I’ll break a thousand more, baby
Before I am through
I wanna be yours, pretty baby
Yours and yours alone
I’m here to tell ya, honey
That I’m bad to the bone
Bad to the bone
B-B-B-B-Bad
B-B-B-B-Bad
B-B-B-B-Bad
Bad to the bone” - George Thorogood
I miss holding the little booklets and the strategy guides that had the hand drawn art from Metzen and Samwise. A group of nerds passionate about DnD and Warhammer, making their own thing. Soul.
When I was a kid, I used to draw the art Warcraft and Diablo instruction booklets and strategy guides by reference. I remember one particular drawing I was super proud of at the time, I worked really hard on it, it was of the Diablo 2 Necromancer holding his Kris over an inanimate lump of flesh in his other hand. I copied it from the strategy guide.
The entire Warcraft universe started as Warhammer with the serial number filed off. (No big deal since the entire Warhammer universe was stolen in pieces from earlier authors)
But if you’re smiling while killing genocidal, demon-possessed aliens who arrived on your world over a highway of bones stretching across half the length of their home world, that doesn’t make you the bad guy.
